It's not the best video game place in the area. Every time I go there's not much stock. They have a 5-10 good games, and all the rest are just garbage games not worth more than $10. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but it's just disappointing with what's in stock. Tournament City always has 100x better stock, which is right now the road. But both places with have almost completely identical prices. Tournament just has better stock. read more

For someone that plays tons of video games, this is a super fun store with retro and modern games/consoles/accessories. The workers are friendly, and it is clear there are regulars that come to exchange their old games for a new find. This is a solid retro game store. We've seen these guys at gaming shows before, so we knew we wanted to check out their store. The store did not disappoint. Everything was super neatly and thoughtfully organized. Things were in fantastic shape. The staff was both friendly and knowledgable. You couldn't ask for a better game store. We wish it was closer, but we'll make sure we stop by when we're driving through the area. I have been going here since I moved to Ijamsville & prices are fair for the most part. Staff are always helpful & nice. Trades are a bit hit or miss, it seems they use price charting & reference GameStop so in most cases you are better off selling independently because a game that sells for let's say $80-$90, GameStop will offer $16 so cartridge galore will offer you maybe $20 but the game itself is readily selling for $80-$90 on eBay & etc for $80-$90 so it's just odd how some stuff you just have to sell independently because they are to low. I would just use price charting across the board instead of the mix of both. But I have had some staff work with me a bit more so it's really up in the air. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Fredrick MD area. read more

Great store they had lots of selection for any console you may have and the prices were pretty good cheaper than eBay for sure. The employee was very nice offered too look in the back for something I was looking for and re surfaced the game I bought so it would be perfect. Also was very helpful giving insightful advice on how to find what I was looking for at different storefronts. Definitely the best retro game option in the area. - also I noticed the 1 star review talking about their return policy and I can confirm they only give store credit for returns. This place is amazing I go to the one in Altoona PA, they have the best prices, they even have one dollar deals. Their staff is so helpful and nice, they greet you when you walk in, answer any questions you have. They have things like video games to merch, horror games to fps, modern games to retro, overall they are perfect. read more

Overall this store has gotten a whole lot better over the couple of years it's been there. Before things were a little scattered but overall the store has always been clean. Beautiful store overall- things are bright, very well stocked and in terms of customer service they are very nice and accommodating with any questions I have had. This is the 4th one of these I have been too. Near to a longhorn steakhouse and Burger King, right near the Walmart as well. I think if I were to give a recommendation, it would be to keep up what they are doing now. I see they have started to carry new releases as well- so I'll be coming here for my new games. I have only traded in one thing here- a stack of PS1 games which only had Spyro in it. Guy was nice and said what pretty much already knew- Spyro was good but the rest was rack filler. Store credit offer was fair and I picked up a couple of 360 games in replacement. I would recommend highly to give them a try. read more

Purchased a N64, was told I could not see it work before purchasing per company policy but that all consoles are tested before being sold. I bring it home, doesn't work. I call the store and they say they can try to fix it but no guarantees. They say the best they can do is store credit If they can't get it to work. I ask to speak to the manager and they said he won't be in. Terrible experience, I'm out $150 and will never visit here again. read more

Worse experience and worse place to deal with not happy at all brought a game yesterday and the lady said it was 2 player and it keeps cutting in and out and stops working so I call to see if I can return and get my money back and they said store credit only no that is unacceptable stay far away from this place like who pays attention to the receipt, the lady never said you would get store credit if it didn't work and they have no games there I want this is unacceptable as her being a manager she should of said you would get store credit if returned within 2 weeks but not even 24 hours seriously read more

I went in the other day to the Frederick location to sell my games and consoles. My sister had a good experience before so I felt I would do the same. She was told/offered for cash offer, they give 30% of the value that they sell the item for in their store. When I arrived, a store employee met with me and started going through my items. Im not sure what the exact protocol is but I watched as he only tested 2 of the 3 consoles and only a couple of games (the most valuable ones as I did my research on what is more $$). I made it clear that I had time and could wait as long as necessary for him to test everything. When my sister had went, they checked every console and every game to make sure they all worked. After about 15 minutes of testing, typing on his CPU, and scrolling/texting on his phone. He offered me $215 for everything. Not even half of what I thought would be a FAIR price. The funny part is, he never even looked inside the other box I had to even see the other items I had brought in. Without even looking at everything he made an offer........I asked him how they make offers and he said he just looks at the items and comes up with a price....When I told him I wouldn't be accepting it, he started to constantly complain about how everyone thinks he's lowballing them and they never believe him and that he has no idea where I got my prices from...I wonder why...ONLY AFTER I rejected his offer, did he tell me my Gameboy Color didn't work. Which it does, he never took the time to replace the batteries in them. I find it extremely shady to not tell the customer which items worked or not before making an offer. Im not even that upset about the offer. He went from saying my items were barely worth $700 to saying that they are probable worth around $1000 before I walked out the door...... The employee was lazy, shady and NOT transparent at all. Though he has been there for 6 years apparently...He treated me as if I didn't know how to value items. He wouldn't even tell me which games were more valuable and what price he was offering for those more valuable items. Only that he was doing me a FAVOR by not testing the Wii and just taking it because its okay for him to take a loss on that. Wouldn't recommend selling your games here. Go to a flea market or just sell them online. To top it off.... He brought all my stuff to the back and didn't even return everything to me. I had to go through my items at home and notice that he didn't give me back 2 controllers and a cord costing me another drive to the place. read more

I discovered this gem last month, when I was searching for a place that would accept trade-ins of old video game consoles and games. They have an awesome rewards program--you get a $10 coupon for pre-owned items after just $100 spend (super generous compared to other electronics/game stores), and there are free perks/gifts each month with NO PURCHASE REQUIRED (crazy, right?!). I ended up spending the entire trade-in credit on Animal Crossing amiibo cards, and of course ended up wanting more! I reached out to them via Facebook (there's a shelter-in-place mandate in Maryland now), and they not only responded quickly but were willing to ship the cards to me for a reasonable cost. I initially found this store just looking to dump some old unused items lying around the house, but discovered a really great small business with top-notch customer service. I can't wait to visit the store again once the mandate is lifted. They have some pretty cool stuff--both retro games/consoles and also new ones like the Switch! :) read more

This store is great, the staff is knowledgeable and are perfectly willing to go the extra mile for the clients. Point in case, my brother was moving to Florida and was visiting me and we went in to check the store out. The store manager was on-duty and answered all of our questions, my brother purchased a PS4. The manager advised us that there was a promotion going on that if you bought an XBox One or PS4, you got a game (new or used) for free. My brother wanted Battefield (which they didnt have, but their Cumberland store did). The manager drove up that night and called me to let me know he got us the game. read more
