Whoever is deciding the pricing for DVDs/Blu rays/4ks here has genuinely lost their mind. They will, no exaggeration, have 10 copies of the same movie and still not get the hint that they need to lower their prices. Higher prices doesn't always mean more profit, duh. I have pictures of the price tags on some of their 4k movies and it's literally cheaper to buy it brand NEW online. The average price for dvds at goodwill around this area is 1.50$ and Blu rays 2.50$. I understand it's a speciality store so you'd expect it to be more but 9 dollars for a used Blu ray you can buy on Amazon new for 12 is crazy. Even the record exchange store in downtown Frederick has better prices (around 4 bucks per Blu ray), and they probably have a larger over head due to location. Seriously you'd think whoever runs this store is an obsessive collector who doesn't actually want to sell things. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the staff was nice, it's an adorable store, they have a good deal on rentals, and I can only speak for the movies. I really hope they come to their senses someday because they have so much good stuff to sell, just no idea how to properly sell it. I'm uploading a picture of one of their movie prices vs buying new online as an example. This isn't just a fluke too, so many of their used 4ks are priced higher than new ones online. And while their Blu rays may be cheaper than buying new, it's only cheaper by 3-4 dollars so... not really a deal. Go to goodwill, the record exchange, a pawn shop, or literally anywhere else and it will be cheaper.

You can spend HOURS in this store and still not see it all! Wonder book has a ton of used books, movies, records, cds, etc and more. Any genre you can think of, they have. The organization of the store could use a little work, and the books themselves can be hit or miss. I think some of the books are a little overpriced for their used condition too. Despite walking around for over an hour I only found a few small items that I considered worth buying. But, it is a super fun store to walk around and browse. They had two whole bookcases just full of Harry Potter books! Browsing the store would be a cute date activity, I plan to bring my husband back here!

Stopped here while I was on vacation and I can't stop thinking about it. Their selection is amazing, I left with almost a dozen DVDs, CDs, and some records. The prices were fantastic and the staff was very sweet. All I can think about is going back there to get more stuff

I absolutely love this store. Love to wander around, admiring old books? You'll love this place? Looking for a deal? Check their ongoing sidewalk sale. Need perfect order like you'd find at Barnes and Noble?? ...well, this isn't your place. This is where book nerds come - to find rare stuff that looks pretty on the bookshelf and is enjoyable to read. There's so much to see and this place oozes with character and history. You're either into these sort of stores or you're not. Personally, I wish there were more around. Chain bookstores aren't inviting to me and they're overpriced too. They have a great selection overall of old and new - but I'd envision book collector types frequenting this store. Their ridiculously priced books are typically the antique ones in superior shape. Good selection of used music/videos too. Bought a stack of CDs for a few bucks. They also give you coupons occasionally, so just ask when they're having the next promotion. I do agree that their prices are high, generally speaking. Other than that, I have no gripes and will continue to shop here, when I want to splurge.

Haterz gone hate. Looking at you, Joe and Chef. Jk, I don't care…read more I liked the store. My friend and I hovered outside uncertainly and the drunk guys smoking outside the bar across the street started heckling us to go in, though they were funny about it not offensive. I believe one of them yelled "treat yourself, you deserve it!" You know what sir? I do! So we went inside and the store is small but they packed plenty of DVDs and toys in there. The DVDs were really cheap, starting at around $5. I've been in other stores where they were $40 or $50 bucks. Like seriously? Do you not know pornhub.com exists??? So I've heard, that is. I would never visit such a site. I didn't get any movies but I got an adult game that was only $5.49. Don't be afraid to keep things fresh ladies! The festive holiday window displays are welcoming, even if one is St. Paddy's but the other side still has Santa.

All the reviews of this place suck. This place isn't bad at all. The sex toys are normal price…read morecompared to other shops, and everyone knows you can get that kind of stuff cheaper from the internet anyway, you pay more at the shops because you can see what you're getting, so that's no reason to hate on them.. I go for the pipes. No, they aren't the big fancy pieces you'll see at the other shops, but how often do you buy those rip off pieces anyway. Here you can buy a glass pipe for $2, yes, two dollars. It's brittle and thin but it's $2. Mine has lasted a month and I can throw it whenever I want. Also got a bubbler for $18 and it's thick glass and I love it. Got my gf a bat and she loves it. Also got a $4 grinder, it's cheap and plastic but in all honesty I prefer cheap stuff I can throw out if need be. All together paid around $35 which is the amount they wanted for just my gf's bat at the other places. I will stop here every time I'm on market street.

edited after posting to add: i don't know why my location displays as though i'm in california. i'm…read morenot. i i'm positive that i posted this under the correct gamestop's page, the one that has the US navy recruitment center next door, yelp just automatically must have assigned me to san francisco. couldn't tell you why! do not expect to have your questions about what you're paying for answered clearly and honestly here. I came in to preorder a game in person since the website was giving me problems, and since i'd never preordered a game in person before, i told that to the guy at the register in order to explain my awkwardness. this was probably a mistake in hindsight, as it probably just signaled to him that i'd be easy to fool. as i was being rung up, i noticed a $25 charge appear on the screen of the credit card reader, labelled "gamestop pro." i asked about this, and i explicitly said that i did not want to sign up for their subscription, and asked was it necessary to be part of the pro subscription in order to make a preorder. instead of answering truthfully, he mumbled something about how the charge wasn't for gamestop pro, that it was just what it looked like on the card reader screen when a preorder was being rung up. i specified that he spoke quietly and unclearly, not because i'm the kind of person who gets hung up over tone, but because in this case it feels relevant to mention in hindsight. i paid $63 and some change that day, which was the price i expected to pay for the game, so i was not suspicious. however, when i went a few days later to pick up my game, the different person at the register told me i still owed $25. i showed him my receipt, saying i had paid $63, and he looked at it and said "no, you just paid $38." since i did not want to cause a scene, and was again inexperienced with this situation, i went ahead and paid the extra $25 and left, since what he said sounded reasonable. later that day, i checked my payment history on my bank's app, and i saw that i had paid both the $25 upon pickup, *and* the full $63 upon preordering. today, i called this store to ask for clarification on this, and learned that it is in fact required to be a gamestop pro member to preorder a game, and the $63 i paid on the first day was actually $38 for the game itself, and then $25 for the subscription. i wouldn't have a problem with this if it was just clearly explained to me from the beginning. i understand that policy is policy, if something is required by the company then there's nothing an employee can do about it, but my issue is with the fact that i explicitly stated i did Not Want to purchase the gamestop pro subscription, and even asked was it required to subscribe in order to get a preorder, and instead of having the policy explained to me when i asked, i was given a false excuse and essentially tricked. if i had known about the requirement to pay for a $25 subscription service in order to simply buy a game, i would have just gone and bought it from a different company. anyways yeah, be careful here.

The employee that helped me stared at me while I was in line without any acknowledgement. I had to ask her to help me. When u asked her if she could help me, she spoke to me as if I was a teenager by nonchalantly saying "What's up". I told her I had ordered a game online, and she said what's the name. I provided my name and she pulled up the wrong person. She then asked me the order number. I gave it to her, she pulled up my order and she told me "You gonna have to wait" that's an online order. Being caught off guard, I was amazed how this employee spoke to me like I was a teenager and in a such unpleasant way. About 30 seconds went by and she reached into the drawer right below her and handed me the game as if she was waiting for me to tell her thank you, but I waited for her to say so, and quietly walked away. All of this disrespect as my significant other witnessed everything. This store smelled funny, and my encounter with this particular employee left me the impression of poor employee etiquette. Game stop needs to train its employees better at customer service. I only provided two stars because my entire interaction was with this woman. I would have given 1 star, but it's unfair to her coworkers.
