Excellent selection of new pull comics, which at some shops these days is hard to find. Back of the store is mostly comprised of longboxes on tables, with a large selection. Better longboxes are on the tables with some budget longboxes located on the floor. The good selection of toys and collectables just makes Comics World even more well-rounded. This might be the best kept secret in the southern Pennsylvania comic book shop scene and I would absolutely return here.

This store is supposed to be one of the smallest in the chain, but doesn't show it. Large selection of books, comics, DVD/Blu-ray's, and toys/collectables. If you don't know about 2nd & Charles, most of the items are used trade-ins from other customers, so you can never be sure what will be in stock. We had several questions about prices of items behind the counter which were quickly answered and the employees were helpful. Had a good selection of Manga but a smaller selection of Anime DVD/Blu-ray's. A large selection of comic longboxes were available, but per other 2nd & Charles their organization was not the best. Overall, store was clean and organized with an on-par selection of items compared to other stores. I would return here again.

The customer service here was atrocious. The staff working the Friday afternoon/evening shift have…read morezero customer service skills. From the second we walked in, the staff were bad-mouthing and gossiping about other customers. It's straight out of some B high-school movie. Rather than greet and assist customers, they just kept running their mouths. This is why the cash wrap area is a total mess. I witnessed a female staff speak with such a hostile attitude to a customer on the phone when asking to speak with a manager; she told the customer that the manager was gone then rudely hung up on the customer. When I approached the same female staff about a pricing mistake after she rang up my purchase in the chaotic mess, instead of apologizing, she gave the nastiest attitude, insinuating that we, the customers were lying about the price sticker that was on a vinyl record (which camera footage can verify we were not). We have been Wonder Book customers at all 3 locations and this location is by far the worst when it comes to their staff. Note to the Hagerstown Managers: if you're wondering why your monthly revenue figures are lower than the other stores, take a good look at your staff's attitude and competency. We won't be back for a LONG time. Patrick at Gaithersburg and Lauren at Frederick both run a much tighter ship and their staff have the right attitude to make customers want to come back or at least not run away.

If you're going for comics respectfully go elsewhere. The store is a mess with boxes blocking more…read morethan half the selection. Seems like nothing can get done or put away due to old men making up most of the staff. Since most of the comics are covered and inaccessible you're left to stare at heavy opened boxes that should've been put up 6 months ago. But they scold you for looking through them and will not sell them to you and will treat you like you're opening a prerelease even if the comic came out in July! Terrible customer service from the older men and they take their smoke breaks at the entrance. The only nice employe is a younger woman. Figurines are bootleg, nothing with official seals but will range 200+ dollars! INSANELY overpriced pokemon cards, scalper pricing!!! Not a safe space for women, I will not be returning.

Maybe it was my teenage hormones raging or the beautiful purple Catwoman suit with whip, but I had fallen hook line and sinker for her very own comics. Especially since this purple cat suit had no tail. Now believe it or not, I did not get my hands on the first copy first. It wasn't until the third copy came out that I went to go buy it. Unfortunately, the fourth edition came out by that time and the comic store did not have the other three copies. When I came home from The Gow School during my Winter Break, I went to Big Planet Comics to aquire the missing three comics. Big Planet Comics not only had the three missing books, but also plastic protective cases for them. Up until that point, I never cared or understood why people freaked out about their comics being opened and read. I got it all the moment I was interested in collecting Catwoman comics. I ordered my comics from D.C Comics, but not all the comics books came to me at school in pristine order. Enter Big Planet Comics once again. The comics that were not satisfactory were put to the side and the magazines I wanted were given plastic protective cases. I kept this up until I got 100 something Catwoman Comics. I must admit I was falling out of my comic book faze. Nevertheless, Big Planet Comics help keep everyone of my comic books safe, until they were thrown out be a storage company...yeah!
