So yeah, this is the best toy store in Maryland. It's like something from a movie-- reminds me of Meg Ryan's children's bookstore in You've Got Mail. Not only is it incredibly charming, but the prices are shockingly reasonable. I bought my son a Green Toy here, and later compared the price with what I would have paid on Amazon. The best toy store ever! My son is absolutely in love with this toy store. We stop in every once in a while to take a look at the new toys and play with the tester toys. We always have so much fun. They carry so many brands of non-toxic, non-chemically-treated toys; this is a mom's dream come true. There is a large selection of fun books in the back of the store as well. I love the idea of a toy and gift store that has "no batteries needed". It has so many seasonal, year-long, educational and just-for-fun stuff for kids of all ages. Unfortunately as a toy collector, there was nothing I could add to my collection. There are brands of toys that don't need batteries that could be offered here: Star Wars, Transformers, My Little Pony and Barbie to name a few. This is the cutest dang store. Love the vibe they have going on. They have a no batteries required policy in addition to asking you to please leave your cell phones in your pocket. We could probably spend an entire day playing and browsing. The young lady that was in there encouraged us to play away which is not something a lot of stores welcome. They just have anything and everything you could want in regards to unique toys, games, pretend play and projects. There is also no shortage in nostalgia as they have things I recognized from my childhood and stuff my mom recognized from her own. Again, just a really great store. The selection there is really fun. There's a lot of cool toys and board games there. One of my younger sisters wanted something from the shop and we were having a hard time finding out whose card to put it on because we are all broke college students. One of the ladies there rang us up and gave it to us for free. Now obviously don't go there expecting for free stuff, but the point is I've never experienced kindness from a stranger to that degree and service that good. Along with that experience and the Selection of toys, games, and the experience of going into a fun little toy shop like that, this place deserves 5 stars! read more

This store is so much fun! The selection is well curated with plenty of items that you wouldn't find at a chain retailer. Every time I go in, I see a few things I want to purchase for my kiddo and his cousin. The age range is from babies and up, with plenty of educational toys such as science kits, as well as puzzles and arts and crafts. The last time I was in, I noticed "birthday bins" behind the register and asked what they are. It's the same concept as a gift registry; children can come in and fill their bins with toys they'd like to receive for their birthday so their friends can just come in to the store and pick out something from the bin. Very cool! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable which is no surprise since Dancing Bear shares owners with Curious Iguana. read more

This is the best toy store ever! I didn't know it was affiliated with the Curious Iguana and when I first went it, I was in amazement. It was the most touch friendly store. And kids seemed to appreciate and respect this. Not one screaming kid to be seen. I asked the staff for help to buy a present for a 4 year old boy and the ideas they came up with were fantastic! I eventually bought the ant farm since it's contained and he can look and observe the ants making their farm. I love the fact this store encourages toys for the imagination. What a great toy store! The selection here is eclectic and unique. So many options for little ones to use their imagination. I loved that the employees encouraged children to play in the store.
