All Time Toys is one of the places along Main Street Ellicott City that I've see mold and change…read moreinto a very professional yet still super cool store. They are THE toy store to visit in all of Ellicott City. Whether it's 1970s Kenner Star Wars action figures to current Marvel Legends, their toy selection is exquisite. They feature high end Hot Toys figures from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other films in geekdom but also feature bins of loose McDonalds toys. All Time really sells to anyone and everyone on the toy scene and the retro video game scene too. This store survived the Main Street flooding in 2016. The owner refurbished the inside and has made this store better than it ever was. Even though they're back on their feet, this store deserves your consideration and visitation. Like I said, you could spend $5 or you could spend $300. They have it all.

It was also great to see Matt and John from the previous Frederick location work here now. The pricing is accurate to current market rates. I even found Utopia with the box, manual and plastic controller overlays for Intellivision! That game is classic! Surprisingly, the prices are amazing. On my last visit, I walked out with about eight Xbox 360 and Xbox One games and spent about $65. I honestly don't know how they do it. The shop is small, but they pack a surprising large inventory. It's definitely worth a visit.

They seemed to have a good selection to choose from, and they also had most of what I wanted; but some of it was out of stock. I do understand that because there has been a notorious back order status regarding many items from a particular company I like to order from. There was a bit of an understandable delay in the shipping process mostly because of the rough winter weather, but everything arrived eventually. Everything I ordered was also of good quality and/or in good shape. Their prices are very reasonable. The prices are actually a little bit less than another similar competitor business I was trying to order from before I discovered this business online. The cost of shipping was reasonable too. I would definitely order from them again.

And perhaps train your employees to exemplify this. Instead, my experience was cold and empty. Surrounded by funny cards, cute trinkets and displays of warm colorful books, papers, ribbons and wrap, I hoped to feel as loved by the staff as I felt towards these pretty paper products. Yet as I chose a few stationary sets and slowly meandered to the cash register, I did so alone. My check out transaction was strictly business, and nothing more. And that was it. No warm fuzzy feeling, no invitation to come back soon, nothing. I certainly did not take pleasure in your company.

While the store was not crowded on this weekday afternoon, we could barely scavenger any customer service. Even once a salesperson was assigned to work with us, she did not offer much in terms of insights or attentiveness. About a half hour in, our sales rep was replaced with someone else (I get it, employees gotta eat) but our momentary joy of having renewed luck at better service became a hollow, fleeting hope. The best part of this would-be shopping trip was learning that TPYC can take your idea and design around it for less than traditionally found in the big brand heavy-hitters. Definitely a nice touch but a semi-useless feature without attentive staff to help get those creative juices flowing. Shoppers come to brick-and-mortar establishments to get advice from field experts who have had much more experience in card design than your average member of the public. This we definitely did not find at TPYC and, after an hour of poking around albums, the dream team left with little to show for their efforts.

Upon entering, two staff greeted us warmly, and proceeded to offer a tour of the store. The owner has set up multiple interactive areas for customers: a general play area in the back with about 5 or 6 tables with chairs; a mouth-watering library of tabletop games; a consignment shelf where individual sellers can sell used games; a small snack stand; a couple of try-it-yourself stands for specific games; and a small aisle where you can buy the materials to make your own game. One of the staff generously offered to sit and play a game of our choosing with us from the lending library. We played Wingspan with him and admired that he had only played the game once before, he knew the rules really well and was a competitive match for us, who had played several times more than he had. A customer can pay 5 percent of the cost of the game in the library in order to borrow it for a week. Upon returning the game, the 5 percent payment can be used to deduct from cost to purchase the game, if you decide you want to buy it.
