Well let's see I purchased a Mondo brand figure of gambit back in April of 2024 and knew that it was a pre order so I didn't expect it right away. It has now been almost a year and the item had two delays but should have been shipped in November. It's now March 2025 and I have no item and the people at this company give no response as to where my item is. I have tried to contact them through multiple channels but no answer. I just want my money back from this fraudulent online company. Don't trust them especially if it's a pre-order. They don't even deserve one star. read more

While I have never been a comicbook guy, MTG participant nor braved the foes devised by a DM, I felt welcomed and at ease walking into Alternate Worlds. The store lives up to it's name. The shelves are full of colorful volumes containing a myriad of fanciful stories, super-heroic adventures spanning millennia and edgy/modern/alternative releases. They also carry toys (vintage and new), TCGs, board games, trinkets, and relevant paraphernalia; a one-stop-shop for your comic or collecting needs. Olga, the owner, and her employees are all passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. Each has a genuine affection for the artform and their enthusiasm creates a warm and welcoming environment. The new space (they moved several months back) has two spacious floors; the first is home to 1000's of comics while the second floor is dedicated to board games and tournament play. Ample parking can be found behind the store and/or along the street. Alternate Worlds hosts a number of weekly events such as MTG draft and Game Night - an event which has become a frequent addition to my calendar. Sitting down with a group of avid or novice players to spend a few hours playing a gamut of games: 7 Wonders, Dixit, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, and many more. This has been a stop for my comic book fix for years and I still pay it a visit when I am north of the city. The type of store has changed over the years from a complete nerd store to solely comics and then a smattering of some then both but the consistent items have always been the comics. "The Good" - Great selection of both comic books and graphic novels. - Decent back stock of random books. - Ability to order books should you know what you want. - Subscription boxes so you can sign up and then come in and grab your picks for the week/month. - Also a great location for the busts and other figures usually seen on the Big Bang Theory for the uninitiated. "The Meh" - They used to have a larger selection of miniatures games but those lines went away sadly. - Customer service can be off at times. Depending on the staff, you will have little to awesome interaction. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad to comment on. read more

I love me a good comic book store. This one is decent and more than likely has what you're looking for. My biggest problem is that the guy runs it is (or the guy who was running it that day anyway, may not be the owner) is almost overly attentive. I've been in several times when I've been the only customer in the store and he's made me feel uncomfortable. I'm sure it was unintentional but a customer should be able to say they are simply browsing without being made to feel like they are out place for not seeming like the usual variety of folk who come in. read more

This has been my local comic shop for nearly 17 years now. We found this place by accident (sort of, my dad shops at Cohens alot) when I was 6 or 7. We went there every Wednesday for nearly 12 years, stopped for a few, and I just started my subscription box back up. The staff is like an extended family, I guess you could say. They are all very friendly, and really funny. Mike really knows his stuff with comics, and he's a pretty good comic book grader too. They have a terrific selection of comics, toys, and other stuff. They even have a good selection of Silver Age books. This is one of the best stores in Baltimore to check out. read more

Its a gianormos 2 story comic book store/pop/book/game store. I would advise to check it out. Also has goog bathrooms

So, went in there with my son. They happen to have some cool older Transformers (+/-10 yrs old). I haven't really read comics since the late 80's but I tried some newer ones ("hot" titles that were too over the top for me). I explained to the guy working the store and he targeted me to something more my style with great success. They also have the oldies for those still looking to collect. They also seem to have a good collection of games: collectible card games, wargames (holy Kampfgruppe flashback, Batman!), miniature games and otherwise. I'm not "in the know" on games but I saw a lot of titles I recognized as quality (Carcassone, Pandemic, Munchkin, WH, Pathfinders, MtG, etc.). They have game days/nights, mini painting events, etc. if your schedule allows. I overhead the guy running the store explain to a mom how best for her son to get into the game (ie. don't buy the uber set until he actually plays and likes the game). Biggest downside, and this is really a dad talking, is that they don't have much selection for younger kids. They do have one rack up front, but it's limited. Not surprising. Not likely a deal killer for anyone. Again, I'm no longer the hip teen I never was, but they seem to have it all at this point (which seems to be different than what some of the older reviews state). All in all, a really nice place. read more

Owner was really kind and helpful in finding the comics I was looking for. She also recommended some books that matched my reading taste. Inventory is sufficient. Found some hard to find volumes of x-men comics there. They also sell some board games and collectible dc figures. Would definitely come back if ever I would return to Baltimore read more

ive been going for years .great staff, not a whole lot of back issues for starwars comics .i will go back at the end of may to check them out again just to see if they changed .have some classic star wars figures loose last time i was there but that was a while ago. read more

Dig it brother. People are friendly, the place is organized and clean. They were serving free slices of star wars cake once if that is what you are into. I have never been to the other level of the store with the game room but I see a lot of people walking in and out of there. read more
