Would say they were fairly priced for each comic, minus the rare or vintage ones. Also has manga, figures, and other series. Can be kind of crowded and small but cozy. The staff was chill and nice. I'm not sure about parking, as there seemed to be only a few spots devoted to the comic shop, but the metro is convenient and nearby the shop.

Super old school comic shop. I used to come here in the 70s as a kid to grab all the Iron Man…read morecomics I could afford. Back then it was a huge fire hazard -- shelves stacked floor to ceiling packed with comics and barely enough room to walk in between. I loved it!! They've moved since then, but only about 200 feet down the road. Same small shopping area. It's much more open so I do miss the stacks on top of stacks of comic books. The one lone guy in front and I chatted for quite a while. Told me the history over the last 30 years since I've just not been in. Nice sized selection, including a lot more slabs than I've seen in most comic shops. Definitely a must-stop-by if you're in the area.

Maybe it was my teenage hormones raging or the beautiful purple Catwoman suit with whip, but I had fallen hook line and sinker for her very own comics. Especially since this purple cat suit had no tail. Now believe it or not, I did not get my hands on the first copy first. It wasn't until the third copy came out that I went to go buy it. Unfortunately, the fourth edition came out by that time and the comic store did not have the other three copies. When I came home from The Gow School during my Winter Break, I went to Big Planet Comics to aquire the missing three comics. Big Planet Comics not only had the three missing books, but also plastic protective cases for them. Up until that point, I never cared or understood why people freaked out about their comics being opened and read. I got it all the moment I was interested in collecting Catwoman comics. I ordered my comics from D.C Comics, but not all the comics books came to me at school in pristine order. Enter Big Planet Comics once again. The comics that were not satisfactory were put to the side and the magazines I wanted were given plastic protective cases. I kept this up until I got 100 something Catwoman Comics. I must admit I was falling out of my comic book faze. Nevertheless, Big Planet Comics help keep everyone of my comic books safe, until they were thrown out be a storage company...yeah! Think BATS ^#IT CRAZY. "Que Sera Sera" she sings. I tell you what I believe... , "Oh, I believe in yesterday."

There's a bit more space on the main floor, though maybe it's my own imagination. There's nothing downstairs, it used to be for all the 50% off goods but it sounds like they're going to rent that out for players to run tabletop games and such. (There is a space in front facing the street displaying 50% off books, of course just those with the sticker.) The guy running the place seems nice, it's still bright and vibey, and it's worth going to. Oh, don't remember if it was there before but there's definitely an old-school arcade game in the corner to play. (X-Men? Wolverine? Avengers? I forget.) Wish I had more time to look around but I was on the clock, but I managed to get some things. This is more for newer comics and action figures, etc., which is fine. They have plenty of comic compilation softcovers as well. Admittedly I'm more a casual comic book person but I enjoyed going there and it's really close to Safeway, restaurants, and the like.

Even better is the sale that was going on for the whole month of July in celebration of their anniversary! Overall, the shop was clean, bright, easy to peruse, had a really great selection of new acquisitions and older staples. I really appreciated the extensive horror section. The music playlist had great vibes, and the woman behind the counter was very personable and friendly. I left the shop with a graphic novel, manga (recommended by staff), a tote bag, sticker, and a single issue comic. Can't wait to visit again one day! **Note: The stairs leading to the front entrance of the shop might make this location inaccessible for some folks.

Not too crowded which I liked as it can get pretty tight since there's many books and many shelves. I can see why the staff put up flyers stating to be mindful with how many books the customers get as they're priced pretty low, allowing you to collect a decent amount. I'll definitely be back to check this place out again :)
