never once felt like I left the store getting a good deal almost feels like unless you're in there every day and you're one of their friends you're not gonna get a good deal. but the last time I left, I felt completely scammed had cards worth around $300 maybe more was offered about 65 and with pressured into the deal in the end, I guess that's my fault should've stood my ground but after about 20 minutes of being told cards that I had got from them were in terrible condition. I traded about half my stack of cards and took back the other half to trade somewhere else upon trading somewhere else I was told the cards were in great shape and was offered around $200. Four different occasions I've gone in paid over market price walk away unhappy but because they have such a big selection it's one of the only places you can go... Great place squeezed into a busy little shopping area. We were looking for a specific Magic the Gathering commander deck and this place had it, and had it for cheaper than anyone! It was cheaper than Amazon by and they gave us a cash discount on top of the great price. The guys working there were friendly and super helpful. As a first-time customer, Dice City Games has a knowledgeable and friendly team. Guillermo was awesome and made selling here not as anxiety-inducing as I thought, but like an honest conversation. I sold some retro games, Pokemon cards, and other classic video game items and they offered a fair compromise in cash or store credit. They are a small business and they need to make some kind of profit with trades so I very much respect that. When I walked in, I saw there were rows of tables setup for MTG and other games, almost like a hangout kind of vibe. For card collectors and players, it looked like MTG is definitely their pocket, but Pokemon is big, and they have some Yu Gi Oh but not much. For retro gamers, they have a solid stock of everything and fairly priced, and actually cheaper than eBay since you don't worry about shipping. I plan on visiting more often and hoping to be a repeat customer to support this little known, but awesome business in the Wheaton community. read more

My brother is a huge Magic fan and all our lives he has tried his best to teach me. Well, I've been a let down in that department (lol), but I definitely have an appreciation for the game and the cards (some, I've learned, costing in the thousands). In his last few days in the state, he introduced me to Dice City games, which is located practically down the street from where we grew up. How cool that we have a spot like this nearby? I walked in and saw people playing games and cards, with board games and collectibles for sale. People were really enjoying themselves and it was a very welcoming environment. I could spend hours looking through some of the retro games they have. My favorite part was when my brother was saying goodbye to the owners. They personally thanked him for his patronage. My first impression when I saw this was... I dunno... maybe a gambling den... I dunno. But a quick google search and it was a board game, D&D, Magic the Gathering, vintage video game store. It's hidden away and would never have seen it if I wasn't driving at night, thanks to the light up sign. The owner Jimmy and his staff are extremely friendly and he seems to take care remembering customers from personal interaction and observed. I dropped in one day, came back a few days later with my son and he instantly remembered me. They also host events for DND, Magic, and board games. I definitely will try to make it to the board game nights. Wish there were most geeky stores like this in the area... but I'm definitely glad this one is here. read more

I was looking up retro video game stores in the area and this store popped up. I knew of this place for years (as it is located near the delicious El Pollo Rico) but thought it was only board games so decided to stop in and see what they had. I wasn't expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the variety of older systems and games they had. From Atari 2600 to the most current gen they have a very nicely curated collection of games. The prices are extremely reasonable and everything is very well organized. Prices are not on all the games but the friendly staff is quick to open the case to pull out anything you wish to look at. The owner Jimmy is extremely friendly and definitely an enthusiast with a deep knowledge of his stuff. He relayed to me that they are looking at expanding their space soon. I was verrrry tempted by the fully functioning and in good condition SEGA NOMAD they have. I ended picking up the only SIMPSONS game released for PS1. I knew it was not a good game but as a Simpsons fan it was something that deserved to be in my collection and I rarely see copies of it. I'm definitely going back with my list of games I need to add to my collection as there were a # of unique titles that you really don't see often. Finding my (super) old SW card collection sparked my interest in visiting a local game shop - partly to see what's popular today and partly for the nostalgia. Dice City is well-hidden, and if you blink you'll miss it. It's off of Georgia Ave. in Wheaton. Parking is limited, so park on Georgia Ave or a side street and walk over. The shop itself is more gaming space than product. When you walk in you instantly realize this small business has made it its mission to support the gaming community. I stopped over on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised at how many gamers visit this spot. The room was packed, and it was really nice seeing such a strong contingent of folks who enjoy games. I visited primarily to see what was popular today (hint: it's Magic: The Gathering). But I spent a lot of time checking out their impressive board game offerings. I found several that looked really fun, but couldn't decide. What made this visit so positive and what will bring me back again, is the incredible service I received. I approached the counter asking for advice on one of the board games I was considering. The guy at the counter (I wish I knew his name, but he's in one of the photos - possibly an owner?) came out to the sales floor and spent a good 10 minutes telling me about his favorite games and answering my questions. I walked away with two new board games (both of which he recommended). This goes to show that good service really does build business! The huge selection of Magic cards had me wondering how hard it would be to get started - so I asked. The same guy gave me a free starter deck with some tips on how to learn the rules. He also invited me back for Thursday Board Game night and Friday Magic night. Since I just got really into retro gaming I checked out all the stores near and since dice city was the closest I went there first. They have a great library of games, a demo area to test anything that's going wrong and offer free returns and great customer service. The prices vary based on the game and can ether be a great deal or a blatant markup of up to 50%. Still great store that I look forward to shopping a frequently read more

Dice City has an excellent selection of games, both retro video and tabletop, as well as plenty of players to play them with. The card game events are well organized and the prizes are generous (I'm a regular at Friday Night Magic and love the drafting crowd). Just make sure you show up a bit early, it's first come first serve and it's very well subscribed. This game store is like the Cheers of game stores. It is a small shop where everyone will work to know your name and make sure you are taken care of. Rather than shopping online, I prefer to pick up my MTG cards from here. The space may not be huge, but it has a huge heart and is very comfortable. read more

Awesome store with very helpful, competent employees. This store is organized play focused, holding multiple tournaments that you generally can't find in most game stores as well as many MTG tournaments. I attended two Modern tournaments, both of which were ridiculously well run. They start at 6:45 and finished by 9:30 PM both times, which is a better time frame than I have every experienced for Magic tournaments. They also have a very sizable collection of Magic singles as well as collectibles and a small selection of boardgames. read more
