Like another reviewer said I really wanted to like this place and add it to our roster of places to check out in Rockville. I'm always down for a claw machine (a regular at Round 1 back home) and love trying out new ones. Unfortunately this one failed to make the mark. First the prices arent unreasonable. We spent about $24 + tax and got 23 tokens. Staff were pleasant which is why I tacked on an extra star otherwise it would be a one. Where I took off MAJOR points was the grip on the machine. Most times the claw would clearly grab the prize, get within an inch of the drop point then just drop the prize so it toppled back out of reach. OK once or twice thats the fun of the risk involved but EVERY CRANE did this. Somehow we hit the algorithm right and left with a hello kitty key chain and some off brand cat charm. They also sell figures but I would be weary. Prices seem ok but I did see some bootlegs floating around, esp in the cranes themselves. I wish I'd seen this place before it moved. Seems like management got cheap or greedy and now rigs the machines so you constantly need to call staff over to "fix" something. read more

Meow claw is so fun!! my boyfriend and I always have a great time here. I brought my coworkers here once too and they had a blast. There's a huge variety of claw machines including plushies, keychains, and figurines for things like Pokemon, Sanrio, anime, etc. They also have a variety of arcade games. The staff are so friendly and awesome - shoutout to Ethan, Aidan, Dino, Lena, and Hao!! They're always available to help adjust the claw machines prizes if needed and give helpful pointers. Super cute spot! I usually come here after a meal, as the surrounding area is mostly restaurants. It's a small space, so it can feel cramped when it's busy- but otherwise I think the ambiance is very cute! The staff is also super helpful. A lot of claw machine spots really only want your money, but the the staff help you and give you tips if you are struggling, and will even step in and help you themselves if you spent a lot of money on one machine and need assistance! A lot of familes go there, so it's a great spot to bring your kids- and the prizes are also super cute! read more

This was a very new, and very cute claw machine place. No one, in our party of four, won a single prize. Needless to say, this wasn't very fun. We don't have to win the big prizes, but no one walked away with a prize. I had such a great experience at Meow Claw in Rockville, and a big part of that was Ethan!!! He's veru kind and genuinely makes the whole experience fun. I figured it was my birthday and the kids needed a treat. we purchased $50 worth of coins for them to play. we won a few things here and there. the employees were the best though! they were so sweet to my kids and let them swap the items for what they wanted. I happened to be in the area for this spot and just decided to check it out. My brother had been to the smaller location before but this is the new location! I think they just moved so I was glad to be able to check out the new location. This place is huge! We played a couple games and actually won a couple small prizes. The smallest ones were the easiest but after that they were kinda hard. It was fun activity though to be able to do with my brothers that wasn't typical like bowling or something. Stopped into Meow Claw in Rockville just to check it out, and it's definitely a cool little spot. The whole place has bright lights and neon everywhere, so it feels really fun as soon as you walk in. It's set up kind of like a mini arcade with tons of claw machines lined up. They also had drinks and slushies available, though I didn't grab one this time--I was more just looking around. From what I saw, it seemed like a fun place to hang out for a bit, especially if you like those claw games and the whole neon arcade vibe. Overall, it's a cool, unique spot in the area. We had fun last time so we came back. So disappointing. The machines just dropped the toys even when they were securely in the claw. Pick up, bring to the chute, then entirely open and drop the toy. This makes it a game of chance. It's much larger than it used to be. I asked for $10 worth of coins, which listed as 11 coins. They charged me $11.09. That's not how tax works. It was a ripoff. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. We spent around $50 trying multiple machines. The stuffies and keychains were positioned in great spots -- several times the claw grabbed them perfectly -- but they either slipped out or didn't drop properly. After all that money, we walked away with just one small stuffy. Compared to other claw machine arcades we've been to, the win rate here feels extremely low and honestly pretty scammy. The most frustrating part was when one machine clearly grabbed our prize and carried it to the drop area... and it just didn't release. When we pointed it out, the only response we got was, "Keep trying." No help, no adjustment, no refund -- just spend more money. The whole experience felt rigged and disappointing. We went a while back when it was in the smaller space. The machines had a realistic win rate. We enjoyed it so went back this weekend. They have since moved to a new bigger spot. The machines are so tight and blatant about it. The claw gets to the top and opens all the way up. I know claw machines have a set win rate, but at least pretend. A $50 coin purchase turned into $53.49? I should have questioned it, but seems shady. I didn't see anything obvious on the various signage which explained why. The final straw was the tip prompt on the screen when checking out. Very unlikely to go back again. The best thing about this place is the machines are not rigged, everyone gets something and that is fun !! This shop is fair that the claw can actually grab something .
