This place was AMAZING...This was our first time attending. From my understanding. This has been going on for years now. I'm surprised I wasn't aware of it but you can count on us attending yearly from this point on. This is a 3 day weekend event. We went on a Sunday. It was less of a crowd. It was a requirement to show proof of Covid vaccination or take a on the spot Covid test. Now I'm not a huge comic book fan but my son and husband tend to like that sort of thing. I was so glad that I attended this because it was so much more. I loved seeing all the costumes and they even had a costume contest. The winner on Sunday was Ghost Rider. He definitely should have won that with so much creativity. There was all types of vendors present. They sold food and refreshments. Parking was available at nearby parking garages. Everyone had so much fun and we can't wait to attend next year. Thank you Baltimore Comics you definitely got my attention! :)

This Comic Con may not be as big as Awesome Con or some other comic cons, but what it lacks in media guest and panels, it more than makes up for in the area of comic book authors and artist. In many ways, this one is for the hardcore comic book collectors. This serious collector fandom was evidenced by the CGC crowd, for I go be myself waiting for a CGC signature witness longer than I ever have for any Con. Oh, and some of the books that made their way up to the booth were not to be believed: earlier Superman and Batman comics were standard treasures of the day. For the most part, this was a con that had a more serious air than other Cons, for it really seemed to be all about the comics and meeting the icons of the industry.

So much fun! People and kids are really into it. If you like people watching (as I do) then Comic Con is an awesome place because everybody steps up a notch. You keep smiling and sometimes laughing while enjoying the costumes. Make sure you hit the day and time when the costumes competition is. The best description of what is happening there is this - a small kid in Hulk costumes goes by and everybody yells," Smash Hulk," and little kid starts "smashing" against the floor. There is nothing weird about it - it is just a different universe, beautiful on its own and you just land for a few hours, check this out and go back to Earth. It is fun and I cannot wait to do it again. It is worth a price of ticket. The next one is September 24, 2017. Enjoy the pictures!

I attended Sunday afternoon with my son. We bought our tickets from Groupon. I don't know what happened, but we didn't see anything interesting on the several levels at the convention center. We made our way to the merchandise section on the lower level. Plenty to buy. Plenty to see. My son enjoyed himself and he was definitely among his people.

If you love comic books, pop culture, costuming, etc., then check out the Baltimore Comic Con held every year at the Baltimore Convention Center, just before the fall season begins. It's a huge show but with the most friendliest, easygoing crowd that you're able to manage your way onto the floor without the fear of being squished like a pack of sardines. One of the best cons to attend if you love to interact and talk with your favorite creators, so make it a point to converse with them cause you never know when you'll ever see them again. I basically recommend this as a great con for a first timer to attend, because you're not bombarded with so many things to overwhelm you. It's very organized and manageable, and definitely worth checking out.

We walked just a few minutes to this wonderful cafe/bookshop! Tons of fantastic fun novels, interesting memoirs, graphic novels, poetry, manga, a modern book-lover's dream! I really appreciate how the store is laid out too-- it's inviting and helps you wander and find new discoveries. Did I plan on buying three books? No but I don't think I could have found them in such a delightful way had I not gone into this store! I already finished two out of the three! Baltimore deserves more stores like this. Community is what keeps places like this strong. A side note: If you're queer or bipoc, or if you're a family member to someone that is learning to build/explore/enjoy who they are-- a store like this is a great place to pick up a couple of books by authors or characters that catch your eye! This world is diverse and incredible if we're open to it. Stores and stories shared are so important

On my most recent walk, I noticed the rainbow flag by the window and decided to take a detour. I'm SO GLAD I did. I love this book store! But it's so much more! There's a little coffee spot, Reverie Coffee, and a section that caters to kids. It is SO much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Oh yeah, you comic & Marvel fans will LOVE this place. They have TONS of comics and a whole Marvel section. I checked out their website, and they have book clubs you can sign up for. They have a list of events and they even have merchandise. I love the BMore shirts and sweatshirts, but in the store they have more to choose from. Dreamers & Make-Believers is the appropriate name for such a cute bookstore+. There were a few people in the store with their laptops typing away. That's what I have planned for next week. I'm just gonna hang out. All of the employees were so friendly! I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and when I was leaving. I love that! Come check it out!

Located in the Hampden section of Bmore, Atomic Books would easily satisfy the inner book nerd in you (*raises hand...). Upon entering, the ambiance was chill with music playing over the speaker with just enough volume to not get in the way of perusing the incredible book collection. The books are sectioned according to genre, which makes for ease in looking for a specific topic. They have a magazine section as well with titles you won't find in an ordinary newsstand (a magazine titled "Bomb"?.... I'm impressed). The cost of the books varied, but was not so to bust your budget. They also have a selection of comic books in addition to t-shirts and items with the Atomic Books logo. The staff were pleasant and customers who came in seemed to be locals supporting a great small business. I liked that. And don't forget I mentioned a bar....located in the rear....serving adult libations. Can you imagine yourself purchasing a favorite book and settling in at one of the seats in the bar sipping on your favorite drink? Or playing the video game back there? I could and would have...if I had the time! All in all, a cool neighborhood bookstore/bar to chill out, grab a book, and a drink.

All the books were reasonably priced, and service was quick and efficient when checking out. We had time to kill before a dinner reservation nearby so we walked in to see if we could find a book to bring with us to the beach. After searching through the shelves and seeing all that Atomic Books has to offer, my husband and I both found something that piqued our interest. I love shopping small and supporting local, and Atomic Books has classic Baltimore charm mixed with the unique punk vibes of Hamden. The next time I'm around grabbing a bite, I think I'll stop in and buy another book to enjoy.
