This is one of the nicest comic/action figure/misc stores I have ever seen. Layouts were clear and grouped by interest. Displays were carefully designed with the collector in mind. The amount of stock is great, especially back issues. I saw something I've never seen before - ECs from the 50s!! One area that I am still collecting. Most stores only carry the later reprints. Nice, but none that I need at the time. There are separate displays for comics, magazines, action figures, sals items, suggested reading, and a nice area just for kids with a great selection. The manager was helpful, and very knowledgeable, and we had great conversations. There are multiple areas marked for sales prices, including several boxes of low priced comics and magazines. And especially of note: I read recently of the difficulty of finding new packs of Pokemon cards. Some dealers were charging $9 to $13 for the new packs, due to shortages. Comic Store West has them for $6, with a limited amount you can buy. That alone tells me a lot about caring and watching out for the consumer. If you are in the York area looking for comics, this should definitely be your first stop! Highly recommended.

Seems like nothing can get done or put away due to old men making up most of the staff. Since most of the comics are covered and inaccessible you're left to stare at heavy opened boxes that should've been put up 6 months ago. Terrible customer service from the older men and they take their smoke breaks at the entrance. The only nice employe is a younger woman. Figurines are bootleg, nothing with official seals but will range 200+ dollars! INSANELY overpriced pokemon cards, scalper pricing!!! Not a safe space for women, I will not be returning.

The shop is located in the Weis Markets part of the center and has plenty of parking. New space is similar in layout to the Mechanicsburg location. One wall of the shop was covered by various collectibles including Pop Vinyls and a good new pull comic selection. Long boxes with a fair selection of back issues line the shops other wall and above them are some of the shops less valuable wall books. The most valuable wall books are located behind the counter on the wall, but they are more than willing to let you search though them. A good selection of trade paperbacks is located in the back middle of the shop on shelves. Make sure to check out the full size Spider-Man in the back corner. Staff member was pleasant to chat with. Overall it's a good shop, but I would say the selection at the Mechanicsburg location is a little better in terms of long boxes and wall books. Still worth a stop if you're in the area.

Go ahead, ask them anything, and within seconds you'll get a lesson in comic history like no other. They will also work their tails off to find anything you need, whether it takes a call to their sister store or to the distributor. Forgot to pick up a comic on Wednesday? No problem, call and ask them to put it in your box. Oh yeah, they have a subscription service, so you'll never miss out again. Special events sprinkled throughout the year give you a chance to save big and connect with local artists and the owners. You'd be surprised how many local artists live in York and how many of them make Comix Connection their "home." That means while you are saving big on Free Comic Book Day or during an anniversary sale, you get spectacular sketches and tons of signed books. And the owners are real gems. They continually give back to their customers and the community. And that's what really sets this store apart: when you come here, you truly feel like part of a community. As a lapsed comic book reader, that really made the difference.

Books are located on both levels of the shop, and they have one of the larger used selections you'll find at an independent shop. Other media for sale also include various movies and comic books. Kirby is a decently sized shop with a good selection of new pull comics and a lot of short boxes of varying price/quality. Variant covers were kept behind the counter and the shop does not have a large selection of wall books. Unlike most of the other comic shops in Hanover, Kirby does not do card gaming, and it benefits them by being able to focus on comics. Has some toys and collectables. The owner of Kirby Comics is incredibly personable, great to talk with, and knew his comics. Puts in a ton of effort to help you with a question or if are looking for something in the shop. Hours are a little unusual compared to other shops, with mostly afternoon and evening hours. Overall, Kirby Comics is a must stop when checking out comic shops in the Hanover area.
