I ordered a locomotive on line and ask the clerk named John to send the parcel with no sig required and he stated many times in an argumentative way, that I had to call UPS to remove the sig requirement. This how ignorant the staff people are. I reordered and received the locomotive in pieces and black broken chips everywhere in the display box. I have never received this poor and ignorant type of service from any other vendor in my life. This company is a joke! Please do not support this business! I do not think you want to pay 800.00 for a model train and go through the hellaciuos treatment from John. read more

I ordered from this business via online. They are listed on the Internet as: Model Train Stuff The ordering process was fairly easy on the website. They seemed to have a good selection to choose from, and they also had most of what I wanted; but some of it was out of stock. I do understand that because there has been a notorious back order status regarding many items from a particular company I like to order from. There was a bit of an understandable delay in the shipping process mostly because of the rough winter weather, but everything arrived eventually. Everything I ordered was also of good quality and/or in good shape. Their prices are very reasonable. The prices are actually a little bit less than another similar competitor business I was trying to order from before I discovered this business online. The cost of shipping was reasonable too. Now as some know with myself my recent life bit I'm now a little bit is into model buses but this crew which has a second name which is "Model Train Stuff" since after all this mostly does this but don't be so on a one idea of this player because this one does model buses, cars, trucks, planes etc.... Now yes this for me has been a help in some cases where some of my bus bits I hoped for with Awesome Diecast were not available so I shopped here & these guys delivered big time & were tremendously helpful. This crew in terms of location isn't too far to ship whatever you want & yes they even when got sales if you go on their shopping bit one time or such & you give your email they'll give you various options for future sales ideas or maybe inspirations. I am giving them 2 stars because we mad the trip there which was just over an hour drive just to find out that their store front is gone and they only offer merchandise on-line. Their website does not explain this and is not very user friendly. I used to shop there every year for my Christmas train garden and now it is no more. This is an excellent online hobby store. Easy to tell if an item is in stock, and if it isn't, they offer to email you when it is. They don't charge your card until they have it boxed up and ready to ship. Their prices are excellent. I ordered an item from another online company that nobody else seemed to have. They didn't have it either, but they still took my money. What a nightmare that was. Makes me appreciate how good MB Klein (modeltrainstuff) really is. Highly recommend. read more

Once again, wishing I could give a zero. No matter how many times you click the X on their website popup demanding your email, it simply won't close, blocking the content. The website is poorly organized and difficult to search. And there are no previews of future releases, so by the time you see it, it is often sold out. The have a impressive selection but they need to speed up the shipping process. First time I placed a order it was ten days from when I ordered till order arrived for in stock items. 2nd time after waiting about 4 days as the order was still waiting to be fulfilled I messaged them and was informed that item would be shipped one week after order was placed. I love model trains. Thats why this store is great for me! I had two broken locomotives. I took them there and they fixed them me for no charge! But of course I gave them I tip. There is one problem the new locomotives range from $75 to $200! A thirteen year old boy does not have that kind of money!! read more

Large selection of n scale and other scale trains- MTH and Lionel decent prices

Poor online experience. I was marketed for a sales event with a $150 minimum for free shipping, which I attempted to fulfill. During the order process, one of the items was no longer available. OK, I understand. The order was placed with a different item to fulfill, paid for, and confirmed. Then 2 days later an email said there was an item no longer available. Once is a possible error, twice is a pattern. I called and was told "Sometimes that happens." Well, BS. That's called "bait and switch", offering items you do not have and requiring a substitution. I cancelled the order and the guy wanted to explain. Here, let ME explain! If your online system is not ready, and you are used to order failures, take the system OFFLINE, have a talk with the IT folks, the folks stocking the shelves, or whoever you trace the issue to. For all of the site development, the marketing strategy and expense tied up in inventory, it all comes down to customer satisfaction. You have lost a customer, the trust is gone, and I'm writing this review. Hint: If it was my company, I would have waived the minimum and saved the order. But that's just me. Ordered a DCC N scale train, some hoppers and 2 Digitrax DCC Boards. They sent me the train without DCC and one of the two boards doesn't work. Now, I have to box this thing back up, drive to UPS, and send it back. Called them about the mistakes. Left messages with two different people. Didn't return my calls. Sent an email and did get a response to that the next day. I really like MB Klein but I am very disappointed in their customer service. read more

I have been using MB Klein's for years. They usually have what I need for HO train supplies. However, the customer service is in serious need of improvement.
