When I visited, this place was already dudded up for Halloween and it was early August! But the store looked gorgeous and appealing. I hadn't ever been to this Michael's location and didn't really need anything but shopped up and down the aisles. Things were neatly displayed and there weren't any merchandise holes that I saw. I didn't need any help so didn't have to engage any workers, which I guess was fortunate as I didn't see many employees. But, no issues for me. read more

RUDE! I applied for a job here, was called in for an interview. I went in, was told that my time was GIVEN AWAY to SOMEONE ELSE who came in on the WRONG DAY!! This is so disrespectful! I CANNOT believe my time was disrespected like this! That manager who acts all innocent and naive is not what she appears. I have totally changed my view on Michaels. Though I am a longtime artist and crafter, I will NEVER return here again. It's really not ok what happened and the fact that they would hire the worst people who can't even show up on time, shows you what a trainwreck this company is. I bought a crafting table that folded down called the Kensington table. I thought this was a perfect piece for what I needed. Very cheaply made and a piece on one of the arms broke off that would need to be soldered back on. This unit is very heavy and I live alone in a second floor apt. I called the store and the main customer service to ask for a replacement piece. I was told by both I'd have to drag the entire assembled unit back to the store. I explained that it was horribly inconvenient to do this and at the expense of my back. No one cared. I was offered a small credit but told still had to bring back to the store if I wanted a replacement. Very unhappy. I've shopped there for years. Offered to bring back the defective piece but nope, won't let me. So now I'm stuck with this or break my back returning. Oh and the brackets don't stay tightened. And they slap a big sticker on the top of the main table piece that needs goo gone to remove fully. Do yourself a favor and look for similar somewhere else. I wish I had. read more

New, clean, and totally empty. How I long for a proactive staff -employees who are aware that a customer *might* need some help, no phony pushing. Unfortunately, they're so buried in their restocking and phones, they never engage. Then, you get to the vacant check-out line. Yes, that Cathy requires you walk all.....the....way....through....their constructed tunnel instead of coming right up to a regiser since there are no other customers. However, just so you're aware that you've broken her rule, she'll turn to an employee nearby and spend your time taling to her instead of happily checking you out, encouraging you to return, and smile. No, she'll then raise her voice, and make sure you're aware that you've been naughty. Dear Michael's, please mystery shop this store, or get ready to hire some impressionable teens, anxious for summer jobs, who can be trained in customer service. I wish you well. read more

Do not call on the phone to check on an item, even if you have the EXACT name AND item number. Dumb as posts. Just go, find it yourself and hope that you can get a cashier who knows how to check someone out and get out as fast as you can. read more

I was at this Michaels branch in huntvalley for the first and most likely my last time. I give it one star just to a young lady who helped me. But the 30 second at the registers was a hell.!!! The employ Keyon, who himself wrote his name on the recipe I guess for a survey treated me really badly. Very relax and happy I walked to his register, first of all he didn't ask me if I am a reward member. He just scanned the stuff and put them in a bag with an attitude and said twenty some dollar I said I have an app and I have coupons, he didn't let me use my app discount for my other purchases which I always do. I always shop at Michaels. I think after this I go to A.C. Moore or other Michaels. Another thing. He didn't make an eye contact no yes or no just by shaking his head and the worst thing he was checking his messages on his phone with no fear that a manager might caught him. Michaels please train your employees. I have done retail work and no chance any one has a job behaving so badly as a customer service. read more
