Very friendly, helpful service, and they have monthly spinning and weaving days where you can drop in, hang out, and get help.

Featuring cakes by Hiatus Cheesecake and Ice cream by Cajou Creamery (both DELICIOUS)! Nichole is such a sweet and lively person! Our wood sign class was well organized, with lots of materials and colors to choose from! We had glitter,a variety of paints and multiple wood sign options. Definitely a great class and good value! Outside of the class, the storefront is so nice and features beautiful woodwork, and custom tumblers, signs and local art/goods. This is such an intentionally designed spot and I would love to do another workshop here!

When they open the physical space back up, you should quickly reserve a workshop to paint a wood sign. I had my bestie join me on my birthday and had such a great experience, wonderful instructors, quality materials, friendly staff and a beautiful store to craft in. Loved my finished product. I recently saw that they were offering a 1 hour online workshop with a guest speaker/ coach. The topic was about rest not being a luxury. With everything going on today, it was timely and on point. The coach dropped some gems during the first half, we were then able to ask questions via chat. After that, we started painting our signs with live follow the leader step by step instructions. The sign came in a nicely prepared box wrapped in lovely paper and was pre-stained. Also included were pots of paints of your chosen colors, a stencil transfer, paint brush, wooden flowers, small sponges for dabbing the paint on, and two recipes (face mask and a cocktail). The class was well moderated. The owner was streaming live from her home workshop with a really cool backdrop. This was well put together!!! My end product was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Looking forward to more workshops.

Family owned business Black Female Owned Business…read more What more can you love about candles? I know, candle making classes paired with karaoke, fun, and amazing hosts! This is exactly the experience you'll have at ReWax and UnWine. First, Justine and Caleb, thank you so much for making this experience, memorable. Justine was simply personable and had a personality that lit up the room and made every guests feel welcome as she took the time to remember all of our names. In a packed room, that's impressive but it made the experience feel exclusive! Caleb added to the fun by supporting with our candle mixtures and hosted karaoke, we had a blasts! Ambiance: think of a cute cozy candle shop, but add lively colors, greenery, cute pink seats, and hues of gold to set the mood-STUNNING! Value: the public classes are $60 per person and come with a standard size candle and small 7ml tin candle. For an additional fee, you can upgrade to the 22ml, which I did. Trust me, it's worth every penny. The scent selections are very unique and if you need more convincing, my special guy enjoyed the selections of woodsy and bourbon scents because he was able to personalize it to tailor his taste while I went with warm & sweet scents. Public classes hold up to 18 people and you can rent out the space for a private event for up to 34 people. In addition to candle making, it's BYOB (wine or champagne) no outside snacks allowed for public classes but you can inquire more about your private class experience through the website. While our candles cooled off, the mics were turned on and guests had a blast singing, dancing, and cheering each other one. This place promotes Black excellences and supports inclusivity. It's a places where everyone is welcome because the thing we all share in common is a love for candles and music-what isn't to love about that! I cannot wait to return. So glad that I found this place.

My friend and I went to the last class that they offer, 9pm, and we ended up being the only two there and got the one on one treatment. Justine was great! She was so nice and helpful. She explained each step of the process and allowed me to take my time picking my scents. There were 50 scents to choose from. Included in the class was one small candle and one medium candle but they allow you to upgrade and mix and match. I upgraded my medium candle to the large candle for only $10 more. They also offer colors and other add ins such as flowers and jewel pieces to make your candle really unique. There is a lot of room for creativity here. While you wait for your candle to finish, you can do karaoke or just chill out and have a nice time. It's also BYOB. They have different events depending on the day of the week, so you can choose the vibe you're looking for. I really enjoyed myself and would love to come back or maybe even host a friend's night. They have a more private room that you can book too.

By far, Party on the Avenue is the most inviting and memorable. I have been to POTA twice and both times, have walked away feeling satisfied. A couple of things you should know: 1. The party is upstairs - so if you walk in and no one greets ya... it's because who actually parties on the main floor? 2. The paints provided are legitimate paints. They don't run and it's not the cheap paints you get from these overpriced paint nites. 3. The canvas is flat, which is nice... especially if you want to frame them after you've finished your masterpiece. 4. Amy is so energetic and helpful. She always has a big smile and music playing, so she can dance her way around the paintings. 5. You can bring your own booze. SOLID. 6. These "parties" will last you a solid 3-4 hours, because you're usually relaxing and enjoying your time but you're also painting a more difficult photo usually. 7. The calendar on the POTA site let's you know the "event" days. My favorite, obviously is Paint your Pet night. Amy drafts up a pencil sketch or your pet and you paint it... really is an awesome experience! So who's ready to paint, hon?

Every one in a while, you visit a place that defies definition and blows you away. Manor Mill is…read moreone of those places. I visited Manor Mill yesterday with my husband, and I couldn't be more of a fan. I'm going to do my best to define and share what I loved about it. Manor Mill is a restored pre-revolutionary grist mill that plays host to a variety of activities within its many spaces. They offer classes (art classes, woodworking classes, ceramics classes), live music performances, art gallery space, yoga classes, and more. We visited yesterday for a musical performance by a folk musician we saw perform years ago in Texas. The concert took place in the Loft - a space on the third floor - that couldn't be more appropriate for a folk music concert: tons of history, great light, views of the woods behind the building, and a small, intimate space. The concert was really special. After the concert, Manor Mill's proprietor spoke for a few minutes about what Manor Mill offers to its community, including sharing information about some of the classes and a theater production that were coming up in the next few days and weeks (the theater production is a first for Manor Mill and sounds so amazing). He shared a list of things we could take advantage of since we were already at Manor Mill, and we did all of them. First, we went for a short walk through the woods behind the mill - their new Fairy Trail - which was really charming and cute (child and adult artists have shared art pieces that have been placed along the trail). About a quarter mile in total, it's a fun way to take in some of the woods - definitely worth a little jaunt if you're out there. Then we went back into the mill building to buy a record and give a quick thanks to the musical artist whose concert we had visited for. Then, we wandered through the two floors of the building that serve as the art gallery (some lovely pieces) before spending some time in the shop on the ground level. I loved my first visit to Manor Mill, and I can't wait to go back. I'm definitely looking forward to taking a class. Their upcoming classes and workshops range from food photography to marzipan painting, from beginner woodworking to traditional Chinese medicine, falconry to macrame, from watercolor to beginner welding. They also offer tons of other events: songwriter's night, readings by authors, yoga, guided meditation, and more. It's such a fascinating place, that offers such a range of activities and experiences. Now that I've been, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on their calendar of activities. We're lucky to have Manor Mill in this beautiful part of Baltimore County, and I can't wait to take an advantage of everything they offer in the future. Check it out! It's special.
