    So cute

This place is super cute and well worth a visit if you're looking for souvenir yarn. Dragonfly Fibers is their local dyer, but their overall selection is also great. It's a little hard to find if you're not sure where to look, but it's basically just past the bagel shop if you're coming from the south, up a flight of stairs above some bar. But don't let that fool you, it's a great shop and I walked out with way less than I wanted to buy

Whether you are an experienced knitter or just starting out, Looped is a great place to visit. It is a short walk from the DuPont Circle metro station and has a welcoming vibe. From the beautiful displays, books, great selection of yarn, and the helpful staff, you'll probably find what you need here. I was looking for some inspiration for my next project and viewing the babbling booties, sweaters, and kit toys helped me brainstorm! They have a nice variety of yarn weights and plenty of room to work on project by yourself or with a group. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see children working alongside more seasoned knitting experts.

I was in town for a protest rally and although I packed an Embroidery project (politically related) I somehow left my sewing needles and scissors home. Hmmm, maybe it was having to wake up at 4am and then oversleeping? At any rate, I made my way to the shop. It is lovely and I ended up, surprise, buying yarn too. Definitely will pop in on my next jaunt to DC.

I was in Washington DC last week for a conference and was delighted to come across this yarn store was only a block down from my hotel! (Though it is hard to spot, I walked by it twice before I realized it was there on the 2nd story.) I had briefly visited in 2014, the last time I was in DC. The store in warm and cozy, and had yarn and different price points. I ended up purchasing an adorable hat kit and a sparkly sock yarn. The employee there (or maybe owner?) was super friendly, and it was nice to chat with a knitter as excited as I was! They even signed me up for their awards program, so that my next visit in another three years will be just as grand.

One of the friendliest yarn stores I've ever been in! I enjoyed my visit very much and found just the right needles I needed!

Definitely on the smaller side of merchandise in local yarn stores I've seen, which is understandable due to the size of the store.

For the insanely cheap price of $130 dollars or so i got to have two official knitting lessons and as much sit and knit as I could possibly want. I started in September when classes started again after the summer and pretty much went to every sit and knit I was entitled too go to every sat and sun from then untill I left DC to move to Cali in June 2014. I miss sit and knit and the expertise and friendships I made at this class. I not only got my monies worth but gained even more in friendship and life long skills. I made fingerless gloves, scarves (5 in total) a bear and am now working on a bedside mat. I believe some people have had some issues below which quite frankly leave me perplexed - How can something be a scam if you get your money back from groupon? This is a one woman show, which pretty much means if something comes up then things might not happen. Thats just the way it is when you run a small business by yourself. The number of times I witnessed people coming to class not reading what they needed to bring or where they needed to meet were so numerous and somehow this was never their fault. Take responsibility for yourselves please people. You are an adult!

Terri was very patient with my questions, sometimes the same one multiple times. If you forget your stitch markers, don't worry someone will have them.

You know that feeling when you walk into a store and feel like you are a burden to the staff? Like you aren't wanted there and/or are a nuisance? Well, that is the feeling I had from the very moment I stepped in. And, let me tell you - there are a number of similar reviews from other customers experiencing the same thing. So, the owner needs to learn about customer service, then hire the right folks and train them properly. I'm sure the owner will post a response that defends the awful staff and makes silly excuses- so I'm waiting for that :) I will never spend a penny here and would not recommend wasting any time here. Unless, of course, you love the hype of this place and want to get cute little photos to post on social media. Then, maybe this is your place!

I want to start off by saying…read morethat I love to support local small businesses and usually give them a healthy amount of grace, but unfortunately there were just too many hiccups that put me into a knot. Firstly, I placed a custom order of thread which is done to ensure you get all of the same dye lot. When I was stitching my canvas I noticed that one of my skeins was a slightly different shade than the others! I checked the rest of the skeins and found a few more that didn't match which is so disappointing. This was not an inexpensive purchase and candidly I don't know if I can trust them with another custom order. Secondly, the markup on their in store canvases is quite a lot. I saw this cute canvas in store and found the same design from the same designer through an online website and they charged a 60% markup! I understand markups as retail space is expensive and if they are ordering from a warehouse. But for a design I could buy myself online- this was nuts! Lastly, the stores is a bit dated. Needlepoint has been around for ages and so has the inventory of this store- they have some beautiful canvas but also a of more dated styles. Overall, I think I'll be looking for a new needlepoint store in the DMV because this place is Knot it.
