Great pet store, we brought our young boys to the shop for their first fish and Ryan H. helped pick out the exact fish they wanted and also let them meet and pet a few animals that we were curious to check out even though he knew we wouldn't be purchasing them. read more

Thank you, Ryan H for all your help today. Our boys picked out specific gold fish they wanted and Ryan went out of his way to make sure he was able to capture the right fish and then he helped them pet and learn about hamsters! New favorite pet store! read more

"My mother introduced me to Carter's Pet Store years ago when I went with her to pick up some pet supplies. Ever since, I haven't gone anywhere else. The staff consistently greets me with warm welcomes and offers top-notch service. Last week, I wandered into Petco to check out their reptiles and wasn't surprised to see the poor care. When I asked about the enclosures, the manager randomly commented, 'Our pet care is way better than a place like Carter's.' I responded, 'Impossible!' and proudly explained why Carter's is far superior and why she should never make that comparison, lol. Thank you, Carter's staff, for always being great!" read more

I went there this evening and a gentleman asked me if I needed help. I said I was looking for treats for my small dog, but he just walked away while I was mid-sentence. I tried to make an informed decision and picked two bags of treats. As I was at the checkout, I asked the female cashier if she would recommend these treats. "I have no idea. Your total is $6.50." No acknowledgment of my question. The employees in this store need some training on customer service. I read the positive reviews that influenced my decision to shop here. But my bad first impression makes me want to spend my money elsewhere. Sad! read more

This was my second time here and I love this store! Caressa and Mo are awesome! They were very helpful and knowledgeable in the products I asked about. I'll always come here for my pets. read more

I love supporting small family business, local business. I've been a costumer of the Manteca store for about 2.5 years now. I walked into Carter's yesterday (7/6/2020) around 10 am. Both costumers in the store were NOT wearing masks. The guy behind the counter (who works there) had his mask pulled UNDER his nose, mouth and face completely. It was just hanging by his ears. Never once put on the entirety of my visit. The purpose of spending locally, in small communitiy store or small family businesses is to support the COMMUNITUY. Carters clearly doesnt have the community's best interest in mind. It's a HEALTH issue, not a political one. The very bright sign on the door said "Strongly Encourage mask...." but when your employees dont wear the mask themselves, it doesn't seem like ANYTHING was strongly encouraged. I understand that some people dont want to wear a mask, but how much business is Carters willing to lose to cater to selfish people? I attached my receipt to show exact time and date of my observation. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but I had to share the amazing experience I had when I visited Carter's Pet Store in Manteca. I was greeted when I first walked in by Ryan C. I felt comfortable asking him questions about the products in the store and left the store knowing I will return. Thank you for the great customer service Ryan C. read more

The best pet store franchise. They're a mill free animal supplier and aim for professionalism.

The clerk named Jenifer has Zero customer service or Empathy! I have never met a more Useless self proclaimed Manager in my entire lifetime! No level of customer service or care & a poker face demands Payment but never does anything to Resolve my issue but ask for the total with no Regards or Resolution! Sad to leave a lame duck employee in charge A real employee motioned me to come to a Aisle & apologize for her actions and lack of Respect but she is Rude & not Helpful at All! Back to the Feedstore cheaper & A real Family environment‼ This place wants your money & nothing Else‼ Get rid off This Jenifer laziness is Contagious and No Excuses! Would like to thank Ryan for input & actually looking for the ice cream‼ The sad part is She's actually compensated for her Terrible management skills or lack of Claims to be a Family ran business Not this Disrespectful person‼ Would like to thank the Couple behind me to Remind me to Leave a yelp about the new owner Jenifer & her amazing manager resolution skills read more

I can not say enough about this store. The Modesto one saved my dog and me from horrible stomach issues. I couldn't find anything that helped until I went there. Going on a year now and no problems at all. I now go to the Manteca branch regularly and Jameson and Emily are also AMAZING! They make you and your pet feel like family. For anyone that loves their animals and wants the best for them this is the store and the ppl for you! read more

Love this location! Nicole is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. This is my go-to pet store.

Loves the variety of dog food cat food and treats and so much more but what i'm afraid of are insects lying around like i've been there so many times and i haven't see one insect roaming around the store. I could sue but I won't. The lady i spoke to about the cricket she was like they're basically everywhere. read more

Better selection of fish than your local pet store. Prices are also fair and staff is fairly knowledgeable. Wish there was a few more employees to help, but they do a good job of answering questions when you find one that's free. read more

The manager Jeff was awsome I drove 2.5 hrs to get a terrarium and was misinformed on the inventory and product was not available but they have a bigger one and Jeff compensated on the price very fair since I drove out here and when I go to go home my battery dies And him and his wife jump My car and my battery was so dead that took about 20mins to charge and this was when the store closed most people would want to go home immediately after getting Noah but he was patient and waited and made sure I got my car started thank you so much And the reason why I drive all the way out there that long is because the prices are cheaper than anywhere read more

They do have a good variety of very expense food. Trialled canned is hard to find, they have a good supply. To bad their price# are so high. Target and Wal-Mart have same price for canned food, Carter's is at least 10 cents higher per can. Their friskies is way higher then even tractor supply. They just charge to much. But they are friendly. read more
