Today December 16, 2023 I was helped by this uneducated, highly untrained, individual here at Carter's. She did not tell me her name nor did she wear a name tag. She is tall, skinny, and Caucasian with dark hair. I had bought a bag of dog food, like I always do, specifically the brand victor. There was a recall on the dog food, all my dogs got sick and I wanted to exchange the dog food. This revolting of a woman had the audacity to tell me to call Victor! Just a few days ago they told me i could exchange my dog food brand for another. Now they want me to call Victor, I could not believe it! How can I call Victor Customer Service when I specifically bought it at the store. If I wanted to buy it from Victor I would've, but I bought it at carters. She was so unpleasant and very difficult to deal with. I highly highly recommend retraining her or putting her somewhere else in the store where she is not dealing with customers. She has no customer service characteristics, definitely not a people person. However, I do understand that it's not Carters fault that the dog food was recalled, however you are selling it on your shelves and it's absolutely ridiculous to expect a customer to go ahead and call Victor. What could Victor possibly do when I bought it from you!!! As a customer that has purchased almost $1000 worth of dog food just in the past 6 months, this is how you treat me!! I did not want my money back!!! Just an exchange! Is that so hard to do?? Me and my whole entire family will go else where and trust me we were active customers!!! And to the very awful young lady that was working there on Saturday night at 5:30pm to be exact on 12/16/23 you were absolutely so frustrating and difficult to talk to! Even her coworkers were telling her just to let me exchange the bag for another brand and on top of that she was using FOUL LANGUAGE!!! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!! read more

I had a horrible experience at this store for the first time ever. I go here all the time. Me and my daughter walked in and look at the lizards and Tortoises. We asked a lady named jennifer if we see the tortoise and she said no. So i waited i line just to ask if i can take a look at them and hold the. Cause we were interested in spending 300 dollars. So jennifer was sent my way again. She opened the glass door grabbed the tortoises and thossed them to the side of the cage and my daughter asked can we hold that one to see if we can bring it home and the lady told her no. So i said thats ok theres other pet stores around that will want our money. I got dog food on the way out and ryan c helped me like i was at a whole different store. He showed me exactly where to grab the food and even carried it out to the car for me. If it wasnt for him i would be giving a 0 star because how rude jennifer was. Props to ryan c. Hes the reason i will continue to come to this store. He went above and beyond for me and my daughter. read more

Came here to get some dog food and over heard what looks like the manager being very sarcastic and rude to a customer. His demeanor and how he talked to this old lady was very cringe to hear. So sarcastic it's not even funny. I asked one of the girls that work there what is his name and they told me it was Jameson or James or something like that . So to Jameson please get your act together , you're a whole manager. And I over heard you cursing also and saying some one was dumb. Not something you want to hear when you're with your little girl (my 5 yr old daughter) . Never coming here again! Please get another manager! read more

thanks to Ryan H, at caters pet mart he instantly came to help my wife & I with figuring out what type of dog food to get ourok dobermans because the one we usually get wasn't at carter's pet mart he gave multiple suggestions on what type of wet food was a good option as well because we use both for our dobermans. I love the store. It is easy to find the items that I need rather than walk up and down long aisles. The staff is always friendly and polite. However, if I had to choose what staff member gave us 100% customer service, was brave , didn't flinch one bit when grabbing live crickets. Bri went above and beyond. Very knowledgeable in the questions we asked in regard to turtles. read more

I have gone to Carter's several times to have my cat Kikas nails trimmed, she is very skiddish from noises to people so I ask to trim them in rear of the store to be safe. I have never had a problem with my request when Nicole is there and she always cares for Kikas like she's her own . Thank you very much "Nicole "in Manteca for your outstanding service read more

Really great spot for dog food in the area. Always have what I need in stock and pretty clean store! Ryan C the stocker was very helpful too. Also they have cheaper prices than Pet mart that I usually go to, because it's closer to my house! Sounds like a win read more

The store used to look so nice , almost perfect. But now it looks a mess and the bags are all smooshed in and customer service is almost non existent. I would recommend the Lodi store over this one. Also I stepped in pee while here , I was so mad. read more
