Just two days later, I returned to the boutique--not asking for a refund, but simply hoping to exchange it for another style. I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do because the dress was "final sale." I understand and respect store policies, but I also believe good customer service involves some level of understanding and discretion, especially for a loyal customer who has supported the business and is simply asking for an exchange shortly after purchasing. For a boutique selling a $300 baby dress, I expected a much higher level of customer care. The lack of willingness to offer any solution--not even an exchange or store credit--was incredibly disappointing and has completely changed the way I view this business. Policies are important, but so is knowing how to take care of your customers. This store is very cute and really would be a little girl's dream because of all the unicorns, pink, glitter and sparkle. I ended up purchasing a mermaid coloring book for my nieces to add to their Christmas gifts that I have for them, but not sure if they are even into mermaids (and my husband doesn't seem to know either if they are or if they are into unicorns. These little girls change their interests so often it is hard to keep up). But I'd love to take them to this store and see if they would want anything (and knowing me, I would most likely let them each pick out one item and I would purchase it for them). From what we saw the first time around (picked over items) and what we could see through the glass the second time, we won't ever be coming back for a third time. The store is small, not a huge selection, but a higher price point for the same items found elsewhere. I told my daughter if she saw anything through the glass then I would just google it and buy it online for her. I would much rather support small businesses but it makes it hard when they don't really seem to value their customers. As I said, this store is quite small and doesn't have anything we wanted that we couldn't buy elsewhere.
