For a dealer job with OEM parts, this costs around $4500 for the front pair. After doing tons of research, I decided to utilize a quality aftermarket kit. However, when I talked to the dealer, they tried to steer me away from this, and while they said they could do it with aftermarket parts, they seemed very unsure and cited issues with prior customers going this route. Another local shop told me they wouldn't be comfortable replacing just the rotors (they wanted me to bring a factory rotor/hat assembly which is honestly unnecessary if old hats are in good shape). I did not feel very confident with both shops. I reached out to Matsenko on yelp by chance and their tech, William, responded within a couple of hours and knew exactly what I was trying to do. I was honestly surprised at how knowledgeable he was with my specific brake job and decided to give them a shot. They got me in quick, and everything was done by end of next day. The brake job is excellent, there is no noise or judder, and braking action is very smooth. In addition, they did an hvac cleaning for me (i had some contamination in my evaporator core) which another shop tried, and failed, and charged me $500 for the whole ordeal. All of this was done well at a fraction of the cost at Matsenko, and I saved thousands. I am very pleased with everything, and the amount of attention to communication I received is something I rarely see these days. Everyone was also very nice and personable, from the shop owner, to the tech and to reception which is also less common these days. I called around to several auto body shops in the Tacoma area, but all of them were either unwilling to take on that level of damage or also classified it as a total loss. My insurance wouldn't cover the repairs, so I was stuck paying out of pocket. I was nearly ready to scrap the car and buy a used one, until I found Matsenko Auto. I spoke with Mike, who was very friendly and provided updates throughout the entire process. After explaining the situation, they took my car in without hesitation. They assessed the damage quickly and assured me it was no problem for them to fix, which gave me the confidence I needed that the car was in good hands. To top it off, they quoted me a price significantly lower than the other shops I contacted. The repairs took about a month due to backordered parts, but now my car looks good as new. My Nissan 370z had 6 drill holes, 3 on each side of the rear deck lid as it previously had a spoiler and I was looking to get the holes fixed and I didn't know how to fix it myself so I looked for an alternative solution, I found this shop with 11 five star reviews and called them and the owner Kyle said they were a couple weeks booked out and that they would get back to me when they had an opening. Then taking us to last week I got a call Monday October 30th at 10:30am they had an opening and I dropped it off the next day Tuesday October 31st at 4:30pm. I asked for a quote before they did ANY WORK because I told them I have a budget but did not want to disclose it. He said they wouldn't touch it until the next day (Wednesday November 1st) and will let me know when they have a quote. Come Wednesday he texts me a quote and says it'll be less than $1500, not warning me that they could fail at welding the holes or disclosing at all, I said sure sounds great! Then come Monday November 6th I hadn't heard anything so I messaged Kyle the owner asking how it's coming along and when it of it would be done. He then calls me and tells me that the welding failed because of the way the holes were drilled and that it made the holes in my trunk bigger because of this and it was going to be $1430 and will now be $1700-$2000 and I told him to wait as I thought it through. I ultimately decided I was not going to proceed because we agreed on less than $1500. So yesterday November 7th I picked my car up after paying $800 essentially for them to destroy my car. I took photos of the welds and sent them to multiple people that have welded/have knowledge welding and they all told me that THEY failed at welding the holes and welded too hot and that it was not anything I could have done and wasn't the way the holes were drilled. I then paid $627 for a new trunk from a junkyard as the one they worked on was destroyed.
