Have purchased 4 trailers from them and have never had a problem. People complaining don't put their expections in writing or cash. Don't complain if you didn't, or you don't know how to tow a vehicle properly, and it comes off the hitch...that's not their fault. We'll continue to use Carson Trailer (Gardena) as long as we have hauling needs. Shout out to Spot the yard dog. CUSTOM WORK: I recently bought a custom Non-Carson Trailer because it met my specification for all aluminum construction. While the Enclosed Car Hauler met my general specification, it did not come with several custom items I wanted and my attempts to contact the manufacturer met with very disappointing results. Because our family had bought a Carson Racer many years earlier with good results, I contacted Michel (not misspelled), the wonderful young lady who directs customer orders at Carson. We made arrangements for me to meet with Michel and Miguel (Plant Superintendent) at Carson and review my plans for custom work to be done there. Even though I didn't buy my trailer at Carson, they welcomed me and paid "very serious" attention to the substantial upgrades I wanted, which was a ground-up full width lower cabinet and tool chest installation. Because I was asking for "custom work" I was a little concerned for the outcome. To my great delight, every single item I requested was not only done, but done to a precise finish. My family is very happy with the outcome and I could not be more pleased with the work. attention to detail, and at a price I feel is very competitive. I cannot say enough about how I was treated and what a very pleasant and ultra clean facility Carson provides. I purchased a 24' enclosed premium (so I thought) trailer back in April of 2019 from an authorized dealer in Orland, Ca. Within a month the front vent in the trailer broke, the gear was stripped out so had to replace that. Then went on a trip in September and the seal around the back door kept come off flapping in the wind causing damage to my rear door, had to pull it all off, clean it up and properly attach it with some adhesive. Now I wash the trailer and find rust. I am not happy about my 11k purchase. Oh, and when you buy from a dealer ask if they also do service, mine doesn't. read more

Carson Trailer all the way. These guys are awesome. We went in early March looking for a toy hauler. They didn't have any available for purchase, as hardly anywhere had any. So we custom ordered one with them, with an estimated turn around time of about 10 weeks. We waited patiently and finally picked our toy hauler up in mid June. A little longer than expected, but sounds like there was a much longer wait most everywhere else. All the staff here- Ron, Kevin, Tiffany, Christine and Josh are all super friendly. Their phone line was busy often and I'd usually have to call a couple times, but they were always helpful and always answered my questions, and would always return my phone call with an answer if they couldn't get it right then. Our trailer was way more than what we expected! My husband grew up camping and riding in the desert, so he's more familiar with these things. He was very impressed with our rig, and we are both so in love with it. I would recommend Carson Trailer to anyone who's looking to purchasing. They've been around for a very long time and rly do work hard to provide quality trailers. Go there with patience, they are super busy, and it's a small office with only a few ppl, but very friendly and reliable ones! I promise you will not be disappointed with the end product! read more

They refuse to honor warranty work. With in a few months of purchase and driving maybe a 1000 miles or so the paint completely failed in numerous spots. I emailed the company and was told "Paint and wood isn't covered under warranty." even though paint is covered for one year according to the warranty. When I pointed this out I was told "The rusting on your trailer looks like harsh road chemicals/ salt, rocks/ or other small particles,... Yours, however, shows marks of small rocks/pebbles that have splashed up as well as a chemical reaction to road salt or any other agents used to melt ice. The locations and the severity of rust indicates that. We don't warranty paint due to the fact that we have no control over these types of road conditions. Unfortunately, this isn't a warranty related issue". I never used the trailer in the snow and even if I did they paint should still last more that a few months. It is a trailer, it is designed for being used ON A ROAD. Basically they use the cheapest parts, paint possible. I wish I saw these reviews before I purchased. read more

It's been a year and half since purchasing our new custom built car trailer from The Bakersfield location to be exact ... Our salesman Kyle worded several things differently at the time of placing our order. We paid for specific things that we did not get. When we went to pick up the trailer and questioned him about the additional things we ordered he said and I quote "you didn't pay for those" ... When we placed the order over the phone he quoted the extra prices for each item and we agreed upon the ones we wanted and was told we were being charged for. For example guard rails, and a different type of ramp to be specific. A few other little things as well. Kyle told us if we wanted the additional items we could leave the Trailer, and they would redo it and we could pay the extra money. Since we thought we already paid for it we opted out of leaving and paying for them a second time. Also since it was during Covid it took longer than normal to make, 12 weeks to be exact. Kyle also said it would be at least another 4 weeks if we wanted to make the changes. WOW, so we went ahead and took it home as is, not exactly happy about that but got over it. Fast forward a few months and the latch or I should say lock holding the trailer on to the hitch broke. It came loose while my husband was towing a car driving through the canyon. Had he not been towing a car at the time he might have went completely over the cliff. The weight of the car on the trailer is what actually saved his life. Fast forward we had the lock repaired. Time goes on and the same thing happens repeat, etc. ok so I'm thinking this really isn't going to happen again right ... WRONG !!!!! But this time I was driving the truck with the trailer attached but empty. Since I do not tow trailers regularly myself I drive cautiously the posted speed limit 55 MPH in the slow lane. Holy shit I'm driving downhill on the grapevine on a semi busy Sunday afternoon when the trailer completely comes off the hitch pulling the truck back and forth from one lane into the next. Thankfully god was watching over me that day, and I was able to make it safely to the shoulder. I sat shaken up, for what seemed like an eternity. I had no phone reception so I was unable to call for help. Luckily my husband was towing our camping trailer in front of me and saw what happened in his rearview mirror. It took him a while to get back to me as he had to park the camping trailer on the next exit off the freeway and back track to get me. He managed to get the trailer to lock enough to drive it to the next exit off the freeway. The only thing that saved us all that day was the safety chain attached that held the trailer on the truck. We will never know for sure what might have happened had the safety chain not been attached. But I can assure you it would have been tragic. The trailer would have 100% went crashing into the front of the semi truck behind me or possibly went into another lane crashing into a passenger vehicle. Without a doubt would have caused a serious multi car accident, possibly killing someone. I am thankful to god every day that did not happen. This morning I called Bakersfield and spoke to Daniel and he was not the least bit helpful. At the beginning of the conversation I asked how long their trailers were under warranty for? He said and I quote "3 years" then he back tracked and said 2 years. The he asked how long we have owned the trailer. It's been a year and a half. In which he then said ohhhhhh they only warranty the trailer for 1 year and the parts attached are 3 years. He also told me that this was all indicated on the bottom of my invoice in which I pulled up a copy and it clearly was not mentioned at all. I then went ahead and called the Corp branch in Gardena and spoke to the manager. He told me the same thing and told me that Michelle was in the person That handled the parts that were under The manufacturers warranty and I needed to speak with her directly. I called and spoke to Michelle and she had no idea what I was talking about. So I hung up called back spoke to the manager in Gardena he told me to call her and talk to her and he would call me back. Call me back and his answer was different this time he said the lock was no longer under warranty. At this point I have no idea why I'm getting 3 different answers from 3 different people but if you work for Carson trailer and you sell trailers all day every day shouldn't you at least know what the warranty is? So I here I am A year and a half later $4500 spent, with a broken lock and also a broken handle which fell off. We had been dealing with the handle but shouldn't have to. As far as I'm concerned they should warranty their products at least for the 3 years minimum we were told from the beginning by Kyle. If you can offer a 3 year warranty on your product then I would assume it's a good product and more then likely not going to break so easily read more

I purchased a new Kalispell 10 ft rv trailer from Carson trailer mfg, order on December 15, 2020 waited until March 30 2021 , received trailer, salesman did know what he was selling or the product. Nothing but problems, come to find out they had the trailer already built in December 20, 2019, and try to sell it as a 2021. They did refund the money in a timely matter. But I spent a lot for radio, tv, spare tire, cabinets latches,. I have learned my lesson and l would never buy a Carson trailer. read more

I have owned two trailers from Carson Trailer. Both were custom made. Both were custom trailers where the wheels were supposed to be flush. In both cases they were not. They had to completely remake my trailer. The second one they made they put the door in the wrong place. They fixed it, and 8 months later they delivered the trailer. My trailer is 3 1/2 years old. When inspecting the brakes, I noticed the rear axel was broke. I called and they said it was out of warranty, and wanted $1,100 to fix it. I took it to Shadow Trailers, and he took one look at it and said it was a manufacturing defect. They are replacing my broken axel for $825, and told me it won't break this time. This place is very dishonest. I brought my trailer to them to get my wheel bearings grease changed. They brought my trailer into their shop and wouldn't let me see them remove wheels. They claimed that I needed all my drums replaced for $600. Later I learned that my wheels don't even need to be removed to change the grease! I learned that the grease is squired into the bearings from the outside, and that all their work was unnecessary. read more

I went to purchase a trailer and I ended up picking one out and picking it up the next day. It was a California Car Hauler Heavy Duty. Alex was very helpful even though it was 15 mins till closing. After I took it home I tried to load a Toyota Prius and the deck height was too high. It almost took off the bumper. A few days later I went back to try to exchange the trailer for the lower deck model. They understood my situation and exchanged it with no questions. Why am I not surprised to see 5 one star reviews? I should have checked yelp before visiting this place to buy a trailer. I had a one star experience as well as all the other reviewers on here. Here is my story: I was looking to buy a 7x14 utility trailer for some atv's. I took a picture of the kind of trailer I was looking for. I just wanted to have a rear gate and side loading ramps. There where to girls there, and when I walked in it looked like they were gossiping about something and they were putting on hand lotion. They gave me the look like I interrupted them somehow. Anyways, I asked one of the girls if I could get a quote for a 7x14 atv trailer. I also asked if they could put two 1 7/8" balls on the frame of the rail, I gave them exact measurements. She said she would have to check with her production line and she would call me back later that afternoon or by next day. I was also told the trailer would take 3-6 weeks to make. I waited for two days and got no phone call. The 3rd day, I called to follow up and a guy answered, he was the manager. I asked if he had a quote for me and he said he was still waiting for the production line to get back to him. Really? 3 days for a quote! I started looking elsewhere, and by the 5th day I decided to go buy a trailer somewhere else. I found the same trailer 7x14 at another company in Redlands. I had to drive an hour to get it but they had it in stock and in their yard, no need to wait to build it. I purchased the trailer else where and I was happy. I paid $2100 for the trailer at another company. I bought the 1 7/8" balls at Walmart for like $10 each and took it to a welder that welded them to the frame as I wanted and he charged me $20. So out the door, I paid $2130. I has happy. A week later I got a call from one of the girls from Carson trailer telling me that her production line just got back to here with a quote, a week later, and she said that trailer would run $3495! I was like what? She said its because I wanted custom stuff welded and the turn around time was 6-8 weeks. I was like no thanks! I didn't tell her I had already purchased a trailer. I know this business is losing money because of their customer service, and I wanted to reach out to the owner and tell him my situation. I called the office and asked to speak to the owner. The lady told me the owner was on vacation but I could email him if I had a complaint. She told me his name was Bill. I emailed him and never heard back from him. Till this day, a month later, I am yet to hear back from him. I guess the owner doesn't care bout his business and he prefers to suck down margaritas on vacation then actually listen to a customer's complain and act on it. I was not surprised to see so many one star reviews for Carson trailer, but I join all the unsatisfied customers. I wish I would have checked yelp before wasting my time and gas driving down to Carson Trailer. I placed an order for a trailer in Gardena today, the manager was helping me, I didn't get his name but he was very knowledgeable and made some suggestions to make sure I will be getting a trailer that meets my needs. I got exactly what I need at a good price. I live in Arizona and work in LA, so they will be shipping the finished trailer to Phoenix, at no additional charge, so I only pay sales tax there and can complete the registration there also. We had an excellent experience working with Carson Trailer! I had called around LA/Orange County for a 6x10 enclosed trailer and Carson was by far the best price. I read the previous reviews about customer service but had the complete opposite experience. Carson could not have been more attentive to our needs. Angel was fantastic-she worked the phones to get our trailer available for us the following day (it usually takes 3-6 weeks, something I did not know until she secured a trailer for us in a day) and helped us through the entire experience. This review is only for the latest service I received. I was at the Long Beach swap meet and saw a Cason Trailer vender. I stopped and talked to Thomas from their Beaumont location. I told him the problems I've had in the past similar to the other reviews. He gave me his card and said to call him if I needed anything that he would take care of it. I needed another rim for my racer trailer, as it turns out that rim is being fazed out by the manufacture. Thomas or somebody he call found five rims and they got all of them. Bought landscaping and utility trailers from them twice. Kevin was helpful but when he was gone the staff was terrible and seemed to get a kick out of being rude. Took deposit over phone, but wouldn't take final payment and wouldn't refund deposit so person there to pick it up could pay in full. Made picking the trailer up extremely inconvenient. Attitude the entire time. Did not come with a wheel. Went back and they charge extra for the front wheel, knowing you can't move the trailer once detached without a front wheel. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. 8 months ago I went to get a custom trailer made. A full sketch blueprint and specifications was created and a 2 week completion time was proposed. 2 weeks later, the trailer was still not complete yet.. excuses were made on why the trailer was not completed in the 2 week proposed time. Weeks go by again, and the trailer has still not been completed... dimensions were incorrect, nothing was correct from the blueprint... Carson trailer attempted to custom the trailer requested but they were either a different color, or measurements within the trailer needed was not right. This company made ** THREE ** different trailers and ALL OF THEM were incorrect. Weeks and weeks of trying to contact Carson trailer and calls have been ignored and no help was there.. not even a call back. 8 months later, calls are still being ignored and no call back, and most of all.. incorrect trailers.. all 3 of them. You would think a discount will be given, but there was not one. Carson still expected a full price.. even after 8 months later from the 2 week completion time. I will never use Carson trailer ever again, or recommend this company to anyone. However I still needed a trailer so I contacted DV trailers in Stanton CA and they were able to provide a completed trailer in 2 weeks with the exact specifications needed and 100% satisfied with their work. ** DO NOT USE CARSON TRAILER IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY BACK AND WANT A 8 MONTH TURNAROUND TIME ** read more

While it's been over a year since I bought my 5'x8' enclosed trailer, I wanted to add my comments. I just recommended Carson to a friend, and checked Yelp to see what current Yelpers are saying. I was planning on renting a one-way UHaul, but it was much cheaper to buy one from Carson. I bought mine to haul my stuff across country, and it worked absolutely perfectly! The team was extremely helpful, and got my unit ready while I waited, and processed the paperwork extremely quickly. The performance was exceptional. It rolled smooth, no sway, electrical perfect, and kept everything dry during 2 solid days of typhoon level rain. I got to the east coast, sold it on CL, and got near what I paid for it. The person who bought it contacted me a couple of months later and said that he had to tell me how great it was. I'm doing another cross country soon and I'll be doing the same thing, but this time, I'll keep it. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE is terrible!!!! Was quoted 8 weeks completion date on my custom mobile grooming trailer and 3 1/2 MONTHS late finally getting it. Was suppose to be in Norco on Friday but it "missed" logistic trailer so I drove to Gardenia over 50 miles from Norco to pick up directly from manufacture. Got there and the final product that they presented to me was a JOKE interior was scratched on all panels, wheel-wells were still wet from spray paint the used to cover chips, scratches in outside panels and brake light was installed all jacked up, rivets were chipped and the list goes on! Then called Michelle warranty manager and Bill (the owner) and Tommy (the sales manager) they all act like it was no big deal and said "stuff happens and nothings perfect" what a great moto to have for ur business!!! NOT EVEN A SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!!! So after all that, screwed me outta 6 weeks of work and final product still has scratches and they only comped me $300.00!!!! Not recommended!!!!! read more

I just purchased a Carson Trailer 5' x 8' utility trailer from the Lancaster store. Here are my comments and complaints. 1) Carson Trailer sales yards are barren. If you want to see what they offer for sale, you have to visit their Gardena yard and even then the trailer you want may still not be available for your inspection. After I ordered my trailer, I had to wait 5 weeks for it to be delivered from Gardena to the Lancaster store. 2) A day or two after ordering the trailer, I had a change order put in for an attached (welded on) spare tire holder. The trailer arrived at the Lancaster store without the spare tire holder. The man at the store was nice enough to install (bolt on) an after market spare tire holder for me. 3) While towing my new trailer home, I felt bounce and vibration coming from it. So I decided to have the wheels balanced. The first wheel came off easily but the second one had a cross threaded lug nut that was near impossible to remove. I took the wheels to a tire shop and had them inflate the tires to the recommended 50 lbs. One tire was okay, but the second one had only 20 lbs. in it. While inflating the tire, the metal part of the valve stem broke off which accounts for the low pressure. That cost me $8 to have replaced. It took three large weights to balance each wheel. Also, when I spun the wheels and viewed them from the side, I could see they weren't exactly round. When I viewed them straight on, I could see the tread weaving around instead of going in a straight line. My conclusion -- cheap tires and/or rims. 4) I ordered my trailer in yellow. They initially painted it their most common color - black - and then installed the stained wood bed. Then they sprayed the trailer yellow. There are places that the paint is so thin, the black shows through. The axles that protrude beyond the wheels are yellow on one side and black on the other. There is yellow overspray on the stained wood bed. 5) The wires for the tail lights run through holes drilled in the metal angle iron without first inserting rubber grommets ($1 - cheap). It will only be a matter of time before the insulation rubs off the wires and they short out and blow the fuse inside my vehicle. 6) The axle is installed too far back on the frame, making the tongue weight very heavy (95 lbs.). I will have to purchase a trailer dolly ($125) or a trailer jack wheel ($25) in order to move it around. Even though the trailer jack does not come with a wheel, it should have at least come with a foot plate ($10). My recommendation: check out all of the other trailer manufactures before buying a Carson trailer. I emailed this complaint to Customer Service at Carson Trailer on 11/11/13 but received no response. read more

I purchased a Carson open flat bed, wooden deck trailer around August. These last couple of weekends we've had our first big rains. I just noticed yesterday that since the rain, the wood on the deck has started to curl, decompose and split. Upon inspection, I noticed that the underside of the boards has not been stained. When I spoke with Carson's warranty department, I was told that they do not warranty to wood. This trailer has only been used once and it now looks terrible! I am very disappointed that I bought a product from a company that does not stand behind their entire product. read more

My review is only for A COUNTRY TRAILER, located in Chino Valley, Arizona. The lady I bought from was very nice, she said take all the time you need choosing one. We wanted a 6.5ft x 12ft with swing down ramp. The frame is very well made, all the wiring was perfect and tucked under the unit. We wantex one big enough to haul two quads or one quad and one side by side plus all our six 5 gal. water jugs,and two large ice chests. Loaded up we had plenty of extra room. We go in Sept. to outside Flagstaff with son.in.law,daughter,and kids so he can elk or deer hunt. We are babysitters, and we mostly go in groups and putt through the forest service roads. We have a campsite we always stake out early. The Carson trailer pulled very straight behind my FJ Crusier. The FJ makes backing a chore, but we may sell it and get a truck with a smalk V8. My son.in .law has an older Carson, and he likes how mine has a beefy frame. The dealer traded my straight across for a mu h better hitch than the one I,d bought so my trailer would adj. to tow more level. I plan on building a homemade shelter I can slide on the trailer so we can put the tent away forever. Then we,ll be Way off the ground, and warmer. It gets real cold at 7,000 ft in falk at night. My trailer is built so we can be safe for life. The paint job was real smooth, and no drips under the rails like I saw on a competing brand. We glad we got a quality utility trailer with just the right amount of room. You will need a big V6 or a V8 to pull in the high elevations of northern Arizona. A COUNTRY TRAILER did right by us. Have a 2005 attitude eclipse FSAK30 that's rear electric queen beds wouldn't come down. Needed it fixed supper fast for an upcoming trip. Carson got it fixed in 2 days along with fixing a roof leak, servicing the generator and a couple other small issues. Kept me in the loop of everything going on and even fixed something else they discovered for free!!! They even washed our trailer without us even asking.
