Your every day scammer who has faith in some desert deity. Lured me from 70 miles away to tell the car is actually salvaged.

I have to completely agree with James G... My review is also way overdue as I purchased an…read moreultra-low mileage vintage car from Portfolio back in April and I have nothing but rave reviews about our experience with Tyson as well as our purchase! Hubby & I were shopping vehicles for our daughter to get back and forth to school and practice. We had some reservations about getting an older car (89 Mazda) but it didn't even have 80K miles on it and it's so clean inside and out... Ty had all the original manuals and the Carfax report. He offered it at fair price, not much "haggling" needed. We just wanted new tires since it was for our kiddo... Ty wanted us to feel like it was 110% ready for her when we took it home so as a surprise, he got her brand-new tires and detailed it like new, no extra charge! Take your used car needs to Tyson... he really just wants happy customers. Super great guy!! Thanks, Ty!!

So I felt confident about making a purchase. The car was delivered late on a flat bed truck. It arrived over heated with a dead battery. The next day I drove the car to a the local Jaguar dealer service department for an inspection. I got back an estimate for over $17,000 of needed work on the car to include the car would not pass smog. "Ty" lied to me about the condition of the car. He is dishonest. Go somewhere else to buy a car unless you really want to get the shaft. Marty in Reno, NV Oct 2 2020.

Miguel first of all is a very class act. His office is small and extremely comfortable, clean and…read morejust nice. But he was so wonderful in helping us get into the truck we truly wanted. He was zero high pressure, he was knowledgeable about the truck and he was honest about prices and options and everything. He provided an excellent, personable car buying experience. We were a little stressed because this was a purchase after our vehicle was totaled so we weren't expecting it and the process was easy, quick and nice. He has high quality inventory as well. Thanks so much Miguel and his wife (and Miley the pup), we are very happy with our new vehicle!

Never had a more worse first car buying experience then this. I had bought a car here and right…read moreaway it had issues. Not even a few days of owning the car there were electrical issues and the car horn didn't work.... They offered to fix it and the car seemed to be running fine up until a few months later I get a check engine light on and the car goes into complete limp mode. I take it to a few mechanics but still after every service is done the cars still seems to not want to turn on or drive over 20mph. I've only owned this car for a year and haven't been able to drive it from May-November due to how many issues there were and the final decision was getting rid of the car in its condition and getting no money back for it. Previous owners of this car had reported a coolant leak to the engine 3 years ago before I had purchased my car from this place, this information was not disclosed to me during the sale. Eventually this issue had led to complete engine failure in the 2019 Ford Escape. Definitely look out for small details like this before purchasing a car here and check the car fax!

First and foremost, I wasn't looking for a car myself. I came to CarMax to assist a friend and…read morebrowse cars with her at this location. Even though we didn't stay long, the lady at the front desk was helpful and eager to assist us. She reminded us that all new and used cars are mixed together. My friend and I like how convenient it is to come to a CarMax dealership and have plenty of options to look at--and to NOT be approached or pestered by annoying salespeople! We left earlier than expected since my friend disliked most of the "cars' makes." She was really hoping there was going to be other affordable certified used BMW's. The sales process was incredibly smooth--no pressure, the paperwork was efficient, and the staff at the Dan Way location were professional and welcoming. However, the "after-care" has been a different story. Shortly after the purchase, a mechanical issue arose that was clearly covered under the 30-day limited warranty. While I expected a quick fix, the service department has made it incredibly difficult to actually get the car in. When there the team could not diagnose the issue and asked to have me return if the issue persists. However; The Challenges: * Scheduling: Trying to get an appointment was a headache. I was told they were "extremely busy" and couldn't see the car for over a week, despite it being a warranty issue on a car they just sold me. * Resolution: While the issue is technically "covered," the hurdle of getting it diagnosed and repaired has turned an "easy" buying experience into a stressful ownership experience. I love the Lexus, but the service side of this CarMax needs a major overhaul in terms of accessibility and customer support. If you buy here, just be prepared for a potential fight if anything goes wrong during your warranty period

Buyer beware. We had a very disappointing experience at this dealership (Escondido location),…read morespecifically with a salesperson named Adriana. She was helping our daughter purchase a car, and throughout the process the numbers kept changing. Every time we spoke with her, more costs were added and the price was constantly adjusted. After finally agreeing on a deal, signing day became even worse. Adriana told our daughter that she had to purchase the warranty or they would not sell her the car. My husband directly asked if the warranty was mandatory, and Adriana admitted it was not but she won't sell that car without my daughter purchasing it. However, she then said that if we declined the warranty, they would require an additional $4,000 down payment in order to move forward with the sale. That immediately felt dishonest and extremely misleading. It seemed very clear they were hoping we would not carefully read the contract or question the terms. When we confronted Adriana about the contradictions, she repeatedly changed her story and claimed she "didn't remember" saying certain things. What makes this even more disappointing is that my husband and I previously purchased three vehicles from the National City location and never experienced anything like this. We were always treated fairly there. I strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to read every document carefully, ask questions, and do not allow yourself to be pressured into unnecessary add-ons. Thankfully my husband and I were there with our daughter, otherwise she could have easily been taken advantage of. If you decide to purchase from this company, I would recommend going to the National City location instead.
