Instead of providing a clear explanation or walking me through the numbers, I was told: "How we have calculated the lease is irrelevant." I found that response unnecessarily dismissive. As a customer considering a significant purchase, I believe it is reasonable to ask how a lease payment is calculated and to expect a professional explanation of the pricing, terms, and fees. Chris then stated that they had already provided their "best lease upfront" and that the vehicle was available at their proposed price if I wanted to move forward. I understand that a dealership may have a firm price and may choose not to negotiate. However, there is a big difference between declining to negotiate and dismissing a customer's legitimate questions. My concern was not simply about getting a better price--I wanted transparency and an understanding of the numbers. Unfortunately, the communication left me feeling that my questions were more of an inconvenience than something the dealership was willing to address. I hope Volvo Cars Escondido considers this feedback, because customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about a lease without being told that the underlying calculation is "irrelevant." Long story short, took it over the border for repair, HAD A BAD CAMSHAFT!!! (9k work, but over the over the border was 3k luckily) Horrible experience. No help or accountability.
