Great pizza and friendly people. Devoured the pizza in about 5 minutes. We'll worth a visit to check out. Crispy and top knotch sauce and cheese. A home run of a choice. That said, seeing an ant scurring around the floor while I waited was a little concerning.

Small cheese is perfect!! Love the rolled edge on the dough!!!

Today was our first (and not last) visit to The Hamilton Diner. We go there at 11:00am on a Tuesday…read more(day after Labor Day just to keep the metrics in place) and the parking lot was packed. We did, however, find one about 4/5 of the way into it. Entrance way is at the end of a ramp, which I would interpret as a fairly tight squeeze if I was in a wheelchair. However, there was a fellow in an electric wheelchair making his way down the ramp as we were coming up, and we all made it up (and down) easily enough with just a pause. Hostess desk is immediately in the entrance. Very personable lady said it'd be a 25-minute wait, and that was pretty accurate. I gave her my phone number and received a message to download Yelp! including a "Your place in line" feature. Benches to sit and wait - one outside and three inside. We were 4th in line, and then 2nd, and then 1st. I felt a vibration from the phone but saw no message. So I went to the desk to check, and they were ready anyhow with 4 empty tables. Seated us quickly and our waitress Ashley was there in short time. Paula (wifey) ordered some Egg Sandwich and a small order of French Toast. I ordered Southern Benedict, which was a buttermilk biscuits base, topped with a fried chicken patty, 2 poached eggs, and smothered in a creamy sausage gravy, and it came with an order of home fries. We were both very happy with the flavor and portions. In fact I was rather full and didn't eat the last 3 or 4 bites. I also had an iced coffee, which was nice and strong. The place is very much where neighbors and families meet and greet. Lot's of "Norm!!" moments. Pricing if fairly average -- it was (with a 20% tip) $45 for us two. My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant, but with adults who don't know how to tell a kid not to do shrill whistling in a restaurant. No more details on that. Again, not the restaurant's fault. We definitely would like to go there again, especially to order some bacon, as that, in my estimation, is a very important factor for breakfast -- I just didn't have any reason for it this time, what with the chicken and the sausage gravy.

The menu is huge with tons of selections, and everything we tried was delicious. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was excellent, the Short Rib Benny was so good, and even the home fries were absolutely delicious. Portions are solid, prices are right, and there is definitely something on the menu for everyone. Service was friendly, attentive, and excellent from start to finish. Really loved this place and was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Definitely well worth the visit and a spot I will be coming back to!

I'm a food snob, and this is not a hyperbole! Their corned beef hash is homemade, the perfect amount of salt, and cooked to be fluffy not greasy. The Irish breakfast is very hearty. I thought the beans were a little too tomato-saucy, and bangers (sausages) a wee bit on the salty side. The rashers (Irish bacon) and home fries were the star of this plate.

We've been eating here forever, and there's just something special about walking in and having the staff know you. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. Busy joint, tight seating, and energetic servers who keep attentive. -- Patty Melt: So much to like about this, from the marble rye (though I think pumpernickel) to the full size patty (better than the double smashed you get elsewhere) to the onions to the gooey melted cheese to the extreme juiciness and pleasing flavor. I didn't detect any Russian dressing, but this sandwich wasn't lacking for moistness or flavor oomph. A near-elite rendition and one of the best I've had in a while. Excellent. -- Fries: Included with the patty melt and a plentiful supply. The bad news: they're the dreaded industrial "coated" kind. The good news: they were piping hot and cooked perfectly, crisp outside, fluffy inside. The great news: you can substitute home fries. My server offered a sample of the home fries. -- Home Fries: I found them to be right in my wheelhouse for doneness, crispness, seasoning, onions, and overall texture and flavor. Superb. Between the good looking plates that passed by and my enjoyment of my own food on my first visit, there's sure to be a second. Looking forward to returning with my wife for breakfast and more of those home fries.

There was still a decent amount of people and full tables though, just not crazy like at other times. Our server was friendly and everything moved pretty quickly. I tried the seasonal/special pumpkin something cold brew to drink and it was okay - a little bitter and not as pumpkiny or sweet as I expected. For food, I ordered the chicken and waffles and my friend got the Megs American Breakfast Burrito. The chicken and waffles came on top of sweet potato mash, which if I read the menu would not have been such a surprise haha. Thought it was just kind of random, but it worked. Im not sure when this location opened but I think this is a great spot for The Friendly Toast. There are plenty of options for parking, but it can be difficult to get the "good" spots. The food was good and came out quickly. It had good flavor... and the service was good. I do think it is a little pricey for breakfast/brunch food, but part of it is the experience of the friendly toast. They all have fun, unique elevated diner-esq styles and vibes.

My late…read moreSunday morning visit had stress potential due to a line, but they banged it out effortlessly and I was seated in no time. Typical nostalgic decor with entertainers of the 1950s, keeping with the diner's name. -- Patty Melt: This is the reason I came, as I'm searching for great ones, and theirs is right up there. American cheese (a little outside the standard Swiss), choice of bread (I went marble rye), and optional add-ons (I chose grilled onions, which you'd think would be standard). Excellent execution. Griddled bread with just enough butter, just enough crunch, and no sogginess. Beef soft, with a loose grind, cooked to a juicy medium rare, and with nice beef flavor (too many diner versions use stiff, el cheapo patties; this was quality sourcing a couple steps up). And melty cheese and soft onions complementing while letting the beef sing loudest. No one ingredient was artisanal-level premium, but every aspect was handled beautifully. -- Fries (included with the Patty Melt): Alas, the dreaded "coated" kind, an obvious frozen product. Hot, crisp, and plentiful, so it could've been worse. No biggie; the patty melt was good enough for this not to matter. I can't emphasize enough how well-run the place is. The friendly veteran servers move like clockwork and could easily drop a "honey" on you with every interaction, but that would merely add a delay. Instead, they show their dedication with sincere smiles, initiative, and time-learned precision. It's a joy to behold. Normally I'd hold off on a 5 based on such a small sample size, but the food and shakes I saw going out all looked good, and that service excellence cliched it.
