Prickly Pear Margarita

The food was absolutely amazing! It smelled delicious as soon as we walked in. We were seated and waited on quickly. The place was very nice and clean looking. Everything came out super quickly with no problems - the entrees came out about the same time as the appetizers. I went with my parents, all of us trying this place for the first time. I ordered a prickly pear margarita to start, but ended up going with a moscato after I realized the margarita has a hint of spice in it. But that's my fault for not reading all of the ingredients. We got a combination appetizer - the mozzarella sticks, bruschetta and calamari were some of the best I've ever had. The lobster ravioli was also amazing. We all had to order the $10 entree to take home because it was so good. I'll definitely be going back the next time I'm in the city.

Love love the food though it's not a local establishment they always have wonderful Italian food, the herbs and oil with bread are delicious, I miss the pizza oven but I guess they did away with wood fired pizzas! That would be my only complaint. We split the chicken Parmesan and grabbed hh meatballs which were off the chain fabulous.

We ate here about a week ago. Not a good experience. It started with the lack of olive oil at our table. The server brought the bread and dish of herbs, then left. Had to ask for clean glasses to drink water. The kid's spaghetti and meat ballS did not have any. We had to show her the menu where it said with meatballS. When she returned we gave us 1 meatball. She only refilled the water pitcher when we asked. She didn't offer cheese to everyone at our table. The Eggplant Parmesan was way over cooked. Needless to say we won't be returning.

The bread with herbs and olive oil is a delicious start to our meal. We also had the Mahi with garlic! Amazing flavors! My mouth was definitely having a taste party!

The food here is excellent. The service is hit or miss. The restaurant is usually packed on weekends. We usually order out due to this.

She gave excellent recommendations from the menu and was spot on with everything she recommended. The ladies at the hostess stand were extremely friendly. Since the change in ownership the entire interior has been upgraded. It looks fantastic. The best part of the night was the food!! EVERYTHING we had was fantastic. Their lobster bisque is the best I've ever had. I also had the Parmesan Crusted Grouper. It was the best fish I've ever had. The biggest surprise for me were the portion sizes. It was very expensive. But at least we left with a full belly and with enough leftovers for another meal. I will definitely be back!

So glad we tried this place! Being from Florida and going to a seafood place in a landlocked state…read moreis not usually something I do. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was amazing, full of helpful info about the menu. He told us how the seafood comes in fresh. He recommended oysters to us, and since it was our first time, he threw in a couple of his favorites at no charge. It was also happy hour, and we took advantage of the specials, ordering the cheddar biscuits drizzled with honey and the colossal cocktail shrimp. They really were huge and delicious. We also enjoyed half-price oysters. My husband loved the crushed cocktails We split the mahi-mahi, and we loved how he told us about the fresh fish that had never been frozen and whether it was wild or farm-raised. The mahi was incredible. You could tell it was fresh. We enjoyed the potatoes and the BéreBlanc sauce. This is going to be a place that we will end up becoming regulars at. So happy to have tried it!

I know I'm a bit behind on my reviews again, but posting now other than later is still fine. lol.. I'm doing my best to keep up with what life is throwing at me. That being awkwardly included and all, sis and I dined on some of the best food I've had in a while. We shared smoked oysters topped with bread crumps and parmesan, a super spicy and flavorful salsa-type appetizer with habanero that came with surprisingly flavorful chips lol, we shared some crab cakes, a beautiful aquatic-toned alcoholic drink, and shared one of the best trout dishes I have ever had in my entire human life! 0__0 The rainbow trout was our favorite part of that entire experience, which was tough to decide on honestly.. My 2nd best thing were those oysters! Our waiter was so kind and entertaining, and I really hope we get him the next time I visit! If I remember correctly, his name was Tristin. Thankfully due to how early we were there that day, the restaurant wasn't super packed, so we had plenty of breathing air for most of our visit. During the last 15 minutes it began filling up! This review is a mess you guys, but it's still an absolute satisfied one!

I'd heard so many people rave about Earl's Premier that my wife and I finally made our first visit…read morethis evening. After one meal, I understand the buzz. "Premier" isn't marketing flair - it's accurate. This is, hands down, the best raw bar in Kansas City. We arrived for our 5:15 p.m. reservation in the main dining room and were warmly greeted by Allison, our server. She struck the perfect balance - friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the meal. A great start to the evening. For two diners, we wanted to explore as much of the menu as possible. Before ordering food, we were told the signature Frozen Gin & Tonic was a must. It lived up to the reputation - bright, refreshing, and expertly balanced. The only thing that would have made it better was a slightly warmer dining room. We're big mussel fans, so we opened with the Bangs Island Mussels - and they set the bar high. A generous portion of plump mussels bathed in a white wine and roasted tomato broth that was deeply flavorful without being heavy. The toasted bread was perfect for soaking up every last bite. Simply outstanding. Next came the NOLA-Style Shrimp Gumbo. Served in a small bowl, but packed with richness and depth. Adding a touch of hot sauce brought just the right amount of heat and complexity. A standout dish. My wife - having happily overindulged in mussels and bread - opted for a lighter course: a single Maryland Crab Cake, available fried or broiled. It was almost all crab, clean and flavorful, with a satisfying crust. She couldn't finish it...so I did. When you go to a raw bar, oysters are non-negotiable. I ordered a half dozen featuring both East and West Coast varieties. Each one was pristine, briny, and fresh, and the horseradish had just the right bite. For my entrée, I chose the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp - four large prawns, each wrapped in crisp, smoky bacon. Simple, well-executed, and a strong finish to the savory courses. Dessert did not disappoint. My wife loved the Lemon Pistachio Chess Torte, while I devoured the Bourbon Apple Tart. She noted that the toasted meringue reminded her of marshmallows - a detail that made us smile. The dining room is intimate and can get noisy as it fills up. Next time, we'll likely try the patio for a different vibe. Pacing throughout the meal was spot-on, dishes came out promptly from the kitchen, and Allison's service tied everything together into a truly memorable evening. We'll definitely be back - and soon.
