The job, removing all the termite & water damaged roof supports in my detached garage and installing new footers, new support posts and new roof support beams. Not an easy project on a garage built incorrectly and updated not to code over the span of years dating back to 1934. Highlights of why they were so amazing... 1. Quick response to request for initial estimate, which had a huge positive affect on negotiations in purchasing the home they would later do the work in. Many companies would not even talk to me about getting inspection & project estimates on a house I was only in the closing negotiations for and several inspected, but took weeks to provide estimates, weeks after they were promised & needed. 2. Quick responses and willingness to have several planning meetings throughout every part before and during the job to discuss alternatives that would save me money and also help set things up for later planned work. 3. Work came in under original estimate, despite the projects many unforeseen complications. Which there were many as they peeled away layers of previous home owners DIY projects going back to 1934. 4. Superb craftsmanship, extremely knowledgeable and they balanced that delicate line perfectly between project timeline without rushing the job. 5. Always showed up exactly on time and all staff were polite, well mannered and hard working. 6. And some may find this last plus silly, but one of the overall reasons I chose this company and during every interaction I knew I chose well, was that every single staff member treated me respectfully as a home owner. Where as many companies (who did not get the job or who I had the unfortunate circumstances of working for me in the past at other locations), who would talked down to me because I am a woman. Where as this company, Ironwood, always treated me with respect. They always took the time to discuss all aspects of the project, taking the time to explain things I did not know and listening to my insights & thoughts on the things I did know. The whole job felt like it should, a true working partnership and I look forward to the next stage of work we are planing on starting. So do not hesitate hiring this company for any job, they are worth every penny and will work with you to save as many pennies as possible on top of all their amazing list of qualities.

The first time we used RoVal…read moreElectric was on an occasion when a switch in our kitchen was not working and we had checked the fuse box, but did not notice anything tripped. We called another service provider, but they could not come out for a couple of days, which was not acceptable. Robert of RoVal came and discovered that indeed the fuse was tripped, the electrical plug under our kitchen sink was shorting out. Robert replaced the electrical plug and did more research. The garbage disposal was not working, the drain was leaking and the faucet was worn out. He found all the problems, then we needed to call the plumber. A few months later our HVAC contractor explained that none of our HVAC equipment warranties would be protected if our home were hit by lightening (during monsoon season) and we experienced a power surge. They gave a us a quote to add a surge protector to our main switch box. We called RoVal and asked them to bid the job. Robert came out checked everything and reminded us that both the main house and the casita would need protection. He gave us a quote, which was more thorough and a better price. We set up a time for the work to be completed and everything was done to our satisfaction. Robert is very personable and very professional. I also like that he is thorough, he looks at the whole picture.

For one thing Gus answers his phone and he can usually give you an appointment right away or very quickly. This is a 4' X 8' simple shed, vinyl, and I have the pavers and the plywood for the foundation. The manufacturer estimates a 2 to 4 hour job. So $1000 would be a $500-$250 an hour charge! Hoo wee! I spent $900 on all the materials. Others quoted $250-$400 to do the job. Sorry, I can't recommend their handyman services. So take this review as if I went to a store, found that they were charging $16 for a gallon of milk. I didn't buy the milk, but I certainly cannot recommend buying that store's milk. And if you would read the owner's comments to the 1 and 2 star reviews including this one, the tone of his voice is telling. When a business receives a bad rating or review or a customer complaint, it is a great opportunity to make good and create immense good will, not only with the customer in question, but for anyone reading the review and how it was handled. More business owners would do well to learn this lesson. ***UPDATE So the owner then sends me a personal message to further berate me. This is unprofessional and childish behavior. I hardly write any 1 star reviews, but when a business owner is unprofessional, immature, and way overpriced, it leaves me no choice. Be cautious about hiring him.
