We were introduced to RoVal Electric from a mutual business associate. The first time we used RoVal Electric was on an occasion when a switch in our kitchen was not working and we had checked the fuse box, but did not notice anything tripped. We called another service provider, but they could not come out for a couple of days, which was not acceptable. Robert of RoVal came and discovered that indeed the fuse was tripped, the electrical plug under our kitchen sink was shorting out. Robert replaced the electrical plug and did more research. The garbage disposal was not working, the drain was leaking and the faucet was worn out. He found all the problems, then we needed to call the plumber. A few months later our HVAC contractor explained that none of our HVAC equipment warranties would be protected if our home were hit by lightening (during monsoon season) and we experienced a power surge. They gave a us a quote to add a surge protector to our main switch box. We called RoVal and asked them to bid the job. Robert came out checked everything and reminded us that both the main house and the casita would need protection. He gave us a quote, which was more thorough and a better price. We set up a time for the work to be completed and everything was done to our satisfaction. Robert is very personable and very professional. We were having a flickering issue with one of the fluorescent house lights in our main theater area. Brandon was at our theater for an unrelated business meeting and suggested that RoVal Electric take a look at the light. Because there is not always someone on-site at our theater, Robert and Brandon were flexible with our schedule and were easy to communicate with. They took great care in diagnosing all aspects of the light fixture and repairing the issue. We have not had an issue with the light fixture since. They charged us a reasonable fee for the diagnosis and for parts used. We are very happy with the service Roval Electric provided. read more

The first time I hired him was in 2009. I thought he did a good job, although he was a bit expensive. He seemed professional at the time so I hired him a few more times. And that's when things got bad. The more and more I hired him, the worse and worse his behavior became: He cursed all the time using words like "fu**", "a**hole", and "motherfu****" and whatever else he could use. I actually had to ask him to stop cursing, to which he seemed to get offended and then kept right on cursing even more. What does it say about a company when a paying customer actually has to ask him to stop cursing and then he doesn't? It shows how little they respect me as a person/ customer and how rude, vulgar, unprofessional and inappropriate they are. Because of this behavior, I've stopped hiring this company. Also the work he did for me in 2009 has fallen apart (it fell apart about 2-3 years after he did it) and I've had to hire and pay somebody else to fix Roval's work. So in the end, RoVal wasn't as great as I thought he was. I definitely will not hire him again. (The last time I hired him, he told me he always gets "screwed" in the end-- but now I think he gets "screwed" because he gives such poor service to his clients and repeat customers.) I just don't get it. Why would he treat a paying customer (who's hired him repeatedly) in such a bad way? Of course, I'm not going to keep hiring someone if he is this disrespectful and rude and does poor work. So I found another company instead. UPDATE: got a message from this company implying that I was the problem. This is another red flag for me-- if someone behaves rudely, inappropriately, unprofessionally, and speaks in a vulgar manner and refuses to take any responsibility for his behavior and doesn't even apologize, (but instead blames a client for leaving a review), that is also a warning sign. I'm not sure how he treats his other customers, but I wasn't very impressed by his demeanor towards me, especially by the end. Why should I pay for rudeness, vulgarity, and unprofessional behavior? (On top of that I received a nasty message from a "Mary F." about my review. She's left a glowing 5-star review for this company (which has been filtered) and sent me a harassing message for being honest-- again, not a good sign.) read more

A circuit in our home blew right before the holidays, threatening to upend our holiday plans with guests coming over. Hosting guests without power to much of the house would have been miserable. RoVal generously made time for us on short notice and corrected the wiring issues with our fuse box. They showed up right on schedule, corrected the issues, explained to us the myriad of problems that caused the outage in clear and concise terms. They gave us a detailed account of what they did to correct the issue and improve the safety of our home, and did all of this at a very reasonable price. I like to rate on a number of things. Professionalism, ease of contact, quality of work, time frame completed, price quote vs actual total and clean up of the property after work. I was impressed on all counts and really appreciated the attention to detail when it came to putting everything back together. This was a complete remove and replace of my home circuit breaker box. They gracefully worked with me on juggling my insurance companies need for written progress reports and price breakdowns. We did have to wait on the city a few times do to inspections and power turn off and back on but I don't hold that against Roval because they were back to work the second the city was done. One snag was a trench had to be dug through the tough Arizona dirt and the old wiring replaced this added to the total cost but my insurance agreed it was an unforeseen and necessary cost. They had to take apart my interlocking paving stones and my heart sunk that I would have to find new ones and put it back together but nope! They didn't break any of them and put them back so well you can barely tell anything happened there, the cement just looks a little newer. A few other random things: easy to get a hold of by text, English/Spanish bilingual and set up a small generator to keep or refrigerator going during the day and night we were with out power. We can't say enough about Mr. Valenzuela and his son, Brandon. They were professional, hardworking, with appropriate hourly rates. Nothing we asked of them was too much. They will be our electricians of choice for all future needs. They went above and beyond !! We used them to heighten a bathroom light fixture to accommodate a large mirror. They hung the mirror for us, and did so with smiles! That is customer service. read more

Can't say enough good things about Robert and the service we got. We recently called to get service we needed immediately and Robert came when he said he would, didn't blow us off or make excuses why he could not come. He always came when he said he would, gave us a competitive quote and did the work fast for us! It's nice to have an electrician you can count on like Robert. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. We hired Robert to correct a difficult electrical situation in a foreclosure we bought to flip and he was 1st class from the first meeting . . . .he went above and beyond the call of duty and even came in a few dollars less then he estimated and a day ahead of schedule!! We loved him and he is a permanent member of our team going forward whereas we buy and flip homes all day long . . .we found him from a friends' referral and can't say enough about the man, his skills, his ethics and his work . . .I read a scathing review on here from someone with the initials A.P. and found that review to be a scandalous personal attack rather then a fair review of the business. I mean if the guy's works was so bad why the heck would you hire him 5 more times . . .ridiculous and totally unbelievable based on our experience with Rob and his team . . .hire these guys with confidence!! read more
