Don't be fooled by the Better Business Bureau letter posted on the front door, you should stay away from this place. The female salesperson will l treat you nicely before you actually sign the contract, but after you've signed something you'll notice that she will stop delivering on all her promises. The head installer was completely rude, didn't ask for permission to do things, and wanted to do things his way. Part of the job had to be redone because they installed wood that looked different from the rest of the wood and should've been sent back to the manufacturer. The overall workmanship quality was not equal amongst all the crew and the final result was poor. Whatever cheap quote or pricing they give you is not worth the trouble or stress that their sales staff and installation crew will give you. read more

We were shopping around for carpet for awhile during our closing of our new home. We tried a company well known for their commercials; They were offering like a buy one room of carpet and get two free. Which I guess is okay when you are ordering the basic cheap carpet that they bring samples to your home. But my husband and I wanted the Berber like carpeting. So with all their "discounts" it was still a little over the budget we were looking to stay in. I wanted to do some further searching with the comps in the area. I went to one location and it was like talking to a used car salesman. He was completely bashing his comps, which I didn't find professional at all. I am the sales industry and I would never try to close a sale by bringing others down. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I then went to Carpeteria in Dublin. We walked in and were greeted right away. The sales associate Denise was super friendly. We gave her our budget and what we were looking for in carpet. She had so many selections for us to look at and being that price was of high importance to us she made sure she calculated everything out. She must have calculated out anywhere from 20-30 different carpets and she did it with enthusiasms. She showed no signs of frustration or annoyance. Denise really made us feel comfortable. She need to schedule the measuring right away because by this time we were running low on time and we needed the carpet in within a week. Denise said she would stop by our home on her day off which was the following day and worked with our hours as well. We were overly surprised that she could be so accommodating to us. She kept her word as to when she was able to get the carpet installed, the price, the professionalism of the installers, everything. She was also so great with our child and she had so much patience. I truly recommend anyone that needs to have carpet installed call Denise from Carpeteria in Dublin, CA. She truly changes the experience. In the midst of the closing and being first time home buyers and all the stress that comes with that and moving and trying to get your new home ready, she really made this part of the transition a breeze. I went here based on a referral from a friend who bought her new carpeting here. She told me she had researched other places and Carpeteria's quote was the best price. I was actually looking for laminate flooring and tile, not carpeting, but I figured we'd check them out. I'm so glad that we did. Denise helped us find a wonderful laminate flooring and beautiful tile that was well within our budget. She was so friendly, and extremely knowledgable about the many different products and brands. She helped us determine what type of flooring was best for our needs, lifestyle, and we were able to take home several choices to help make our final decision. When the work started on our flooring, the installers always made sure to ask me about details I never even considered, like which direction to lay the planks, where to center the tiles, and how the tile design would be laid out over our fireplace. A room was already halfway completed, and I asked them if they could change the direction of the planks, and they obliged with no complaint. Even after the job was done, I asked Denise to fax me a document for our insurance company and she did so in minutes. One star because that's the lowest, but they deserve ZERO! Can you say tacky and rude salesman?! Owen came to my home to give us an estimate for laminate and carpet for our cabana, and I was in shock to listen to how this man was talking to me and in front of my contractor. I honestly feel bad for Owen. You can tell he's a HIGH PRESSURE SALESMAN. He was rude from the beginning. He brought the cheapest carpet and I had told him I wanted low pile. I told him I didn't like the carpet samples he brought me and his response was something along the lines of "That's why I asked some smart questions, but I guess I didn't ask enough." Well, he should assume I don't know anything about carpet and its his job to bring me more than one sample of the same type so he can 'educate' me. Then after he gave me a quote (which I must say is only valid today, typical salesman) he was startled that I asked him how much was i paying per square foot of carpet and laminate. He acted like that was so wrong of me to ask! He said "I don't know, our prices include labor, padding, etc, so lets just say you are paying $1.99." WTF! I would never recommend anyone to deal with Owen. My contractor will also never recommend Carpeteria to anyone. I can't believe I was treated in such a disrespectful manner and I have to admit, I slammed the door on his way out and told him to keep his business card. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service! I also must add he was 15 minuntes late to his in home consultation. read more

Was told I would have a instal date, signed a contract or a agreement, only to be told that they had overbooked and then tried to re schedule my install for a month out further than the agreed ups on instal date. The salesman didn't even have the balls to call me. No no he texted me about the reschedule, then e mailed me to cancel the instal. Horrible customer service, exceptionally bad professionalism and the worst place to do any business!! Escalated this issue up to a DM and still got no results just lots of "I'm sorry". I purchased hardwood flooring and carpet from Carpeteria 3 years ago for my rental house and recently had water damage. I asked Les to please take a look at the damage for me and help me to figure out the most cost effective and painless way to replace the damaged area. He surveyed the home and told me that I did not need to replace it as the product was strong and drying out nicely and would be fine. I really appreciated his honesty especially when it could have been a nice job for the store. The sales person I was working with, I had to track beween a number of stores in the bay area just to follow up my order. I had gone to Home Depot, Union City to get a quote for a carpet. It's been 17 yrs. and the carpet has seen its day. The price per sq. ft. at Home Depot was good; however, after they measured the area to be carpeted their quote showed they were charging me 104 additional sq. footage of carpet. When we asked HD about that, they said they had to add more carpet. We didn't think that was good business, our quote was close to $3,000. We decided to go to Carpeteria, they were the company we had purchased the carpet from 17 years ago. I met with Center Case in San Leandro, and I told him about the experience at HD, he said it was nonsense and he could get me "better quality and thicker carpet" than what HD had quoted me. So I was very happy to hear that and decided to go with Carpeteria. I even thought why did I waste my time going to HD. We made the order thru Carpeteria, they showed up today (March 3, 2012); when I saw the carpet it didn't look as good of quality as the carpet we had selected at HD. I called the office at Carpeteria, and they said they didn't have Mr. Case's cell phone number there was nothing they could do for me. Now, remember we've gone thru the effort of moving ALL furniture, my house is a mess and the Installers are here. I attempted to call Mr. Case and he said that the carpet looked like that because it was rolled up. He also said he would come to the house and show me what he was talking about. Three hours later, waiting for Mr. Case who didn't show up nor called to say he was still coming. He doesn't have a cell phone (Salesman/part owner), so nobody could get a hold of him. The color is fine, the quality doesn't seem to be as good. We decided to have the installers do the job; I felt bad that they waited so long to get a directive from the company. I don't appreciate that Mr. Case didn't bother to call nor show up to see how things were going. Now I wonder, maybe I should have stayed with Home Depot. Very Bad experience with Carpeteria. I hope the quality is as good as he claimed it is. I don't know that! read more

Although we are satisfied with Carpeteria and our new carpet and wood floor there were some 'Bumps' along that way. 1. Not enough wood with some pieces that did not match the others SO they had to come back another day. - inconvienent 2. Carpet was to come on a certain day BUT I was called the day before & told that is was not delivered and therefore had to RE-Schedule for 4 days later- very inconvenient as so much of our house was in boxes. 3. Wood installers were tidy but we are still finding staples and bits of old carpet around the house. 5. I asked for the BEST pad but found out by the carpet installers that it was Second Best- annoying. All was installed June,2012. read more

I had used this store before and the salesperson was fair and knowledgeable. Then she was replaced by a guy named Center. I decided to work with him. Then he made commitments on rebates and would not honor them. It was not a lot of money but it was the principal. He said he would make it right and all he did was put me off. Once I even went in and he was playing video poker or some card game and asked me if I would wait until he was finished. The store then closed down and they merged it with another. No wonder. I followed up with management and they commited to call back but never did. Just be careful in working with Carpeteria. read more

Got a cold call from a saleswoman, CG, who insisted that I called her today and went as far as accusing "my husband" or "someone else" of using my phone to make the call (no one else had access to my phone). She very quickly became so belligerent that I had to tell her as a salesperson she was negatively representing herself and her company, and abruptly end the call. That was followed by another call from her where she blamed her colleague for mixing my number with someone else's but never once apologized nor took responsibility for her rude and aggressive manner and only said, "confusion happens sometimes" and she hoped "it didn't leave a bad taste in my mouth". Really? And when I asked, she refused to provide her manager's name and said that Carpeteria didn't need my business and should take it somewhere else because I was the one having a bad day. WOW. What sales person in their right mind cold calls someone, argues with them, then takes no responsibility for their HORRIBLE behavior and blames the customer for it??? We looked all over the Tri-Valley to find hardwood flooring, either engineered or laminate. I knew I didn't want the mess of "finish in place." When we went to Carpeteria in Dublin (a shop I'd never been in) we found an engineered product that both my husband and I agreed on. We found several others that either he liked or I did. We worked with Les and he brought all the samples out to the house and measured. We chose the first flooring we'd both liked and it turned out it was on sale, and the price was a fair one (from looking at so many other places we pretty much knew the high and low). But the best part was the communication we had with Les throughout the process, the 6-months w/o interest he offered us, and the wonderful Carpeteria guys who installed it so carefully--leveling the floor with a sander for the high spots and liquid level for the low spots. The floor is beautiful--and I can see now that the installers really make or break it. All the boards are evenly butted up and the edges are great. We liked it so much we're going to have another, adjoining room done. This will be my go-to place for all my flooring needs. read more

a Sales guy came to my home to measure, then wrote a contract of $740 for a living room. We paid $300 for deposit on the spot. He scheduled us for installation to happen in 6days. I made arrangement to take day off that day. At Day 5, he called and demanded $150 more in order to do the installation. We tried to be flexible and offered $800, just to get it over with. After a few days of phone call, they rejected our offer, but said nothing about the $300 deposit refund. I walked in the store and demanded refund. Another Sales lady offered us $850 We thought this could end the craziness, so we agreed. Installation scheduled 2 days later. The night before someone called to confirm a 9am-1pm windows. The next day no one showed up. We waited 7hrs!!! We immediately went to the store and demanded cancel and refund. This is a bad company with unethical business practice. And they wasted a lot of my time. Do not trust their promises!! I am still waiting for my refund. read more
