We had a great experience with Carpet One. We purchased new flooring to replace the carpet in our house. We looked at multiple samples, and it is possible to borrow them and taken them to our house to see what they look like in our lighting and next to other things like the walls. They had a very good selection of tile. Since we have a pool, we decided on a tile that looks like distressed hardwood. The installation was excellent and the house looks amazing. The prices were also fair. We would definitely look at Carpet One for future flooring needs. read more

Got a dense and plush carpet with a brand name manufacturer from Carpet One. Installers worked extremely hard and have to be strong to do that job. Roughly the same price as a significantly lower quality carpet from one of the stores always advertising on TV. On the downside, the staff were somewhat less pleasant after the sale as compared to before. And most annoyingly the owner insisted that the 5 or so combined minutes to help me move a couple pieces of furniture was $150. Reduced from the original $375, but still. One piece they just moved because they got ti it a second before I did. Very annoying. read more

Carpet One recently completed installing over 1,000 sqft of laminate flooring in our home; replacing old carpet that was no longer worth cleaning... :-) The floor is gorgeous and new base molding throughout the house really finished things off. We're very happy with the floor we chose and especially the results! We love the upgrade to our home! Rhonda was great to work with. She was engaged from the beginning; listening to our ideas, suggesting her own and explaining everything from the quoting to the installation itself. Rhonda and Carpet One were straight forward, professional, worked with us, and for me, most importantly were very fair. The original quote was fair and reasonable and they were very fair in dealing with a couple unanticipated issues including dealing with a large slab floor that wasn't level. Rhonda and team were very fair and came up with an equitable solution. It's examples like this that impressed me as a customer; and frankly that made me want to write this review. We had them install new carpeting in about half of our house several years ago. They did a fine job, no complaints. They of course left us the remnants, to patch if necessary at a future date. However, they appear unwilling to actually do any follow up patching, should that necessity actually arise. Last year I called them repeatedly, spoke with folks, explained what I needed, that I had a patch of carpet that needed replacing, that I had the carpet to replace the damaged section....I was told by 3 different people that I would get a call back about scheduling this small job...I understand they are busy, and I didn't expect to be a high priority for them, but I never got that call back. To clarify, we'd spent thousands of dollars on our previous job, and I fully expected to pay for this small job. I didn't expect something for nothing...but I did expect **something** from a company that (I assume) would have liked to receive more business from us. What's the point of us saving those carpet remnants if we can't get their help when we need it? Well, when we are ready to install new hardwood in the other half of our house....we will be using another company, hopefully one that values their customer enough to want to provide more than one time service. read more

Snooty, unfriendly sales persons (both women whose names I don't recall) and high prices turned me off to this flooring store. The associate who mostly worked with me couldn't have been less interested in what I wanted. Instead of listening, she kept pointing out things that she thought would work for my project. Poor salesmanship! Listen to your customers! I also seemed to garner less attention when I walked into the store in sweats. She started helping someone else mid visit. It was only after I came back the next day looking a bit more "upscale" that she gave me even the slightest bit of respect or attention. They only get a second star because they do have some pretty choices for flooring. read more

Our laminate flooring got damaged when we had a water leak. We wanted to use a local business and saw that Carpet One was highly rated and local. However, the owner Robb ended up being quite smarmy. He came right out when we called, which was good. However, when he examined our floors, he told us that "these were excellent laminate products, but unfortunately it looked like it was made by a company that went out of business a few years ago." He said he'd have his guys come and and "take a sample piece to send to 'the lab' to test for certain." His guys did come out the next day, which was good. I asked them to cut an extra piece out for me, which they did - also a positive. We took this piece around and found our floor was actually the inexpensive, quite available basic product from Home Depot. There were rows of it at Home Depot. I called Robb and left him an annoyed message stating this. Even so, we received a phone call from him a week later telling me that his "lab" had confirmed that our floors were from the company that was now out of business and he suggested we go through our insurance to replace all of the flooring throughout the house. I told him we found it at Home Depot and wouldn't need his services further. What a disappointment! We really wanted to like this store. read more

If I could give Carpet One of Livermore 6 stars I would! First of all, Rob has done slate flooring in my parents house (it turned out so beautiful and my Mom absolutely LOVES it) They were so happy with Carpet One, that I figured this was the place to go! Rob helped us find the right carpet for us, in our price range and made sure we'd be happy with it. They helped steer us in the direction of eco-friendly carpet because that is important to me. They also helped us find carpet that would be good for the wear and tear that comes with having two cats as well. We got a little over 1200 sq. feet of carpet done (two flights of stairs) in our house and it turned out beautifully! The carpet installers were VERY nice, friendly and never creepy (all the women out there know what I am talking about). I was very comfortable being there alone with them. They installed all the carpet in only 1.5 days! They also helped move the furniture and replaced it- they put our couch back in the wrong spot and they both helped me put it exactly where I wanted it before they left. We've had our carpet for a month now and I'm still in awe at how amazing it is as if it's only been a week! Thank you Carpet One! read more

I came to Carpet One when I needed new carpeting. I wanted a good deal on carpet, but didn't know what I was looking for. The sales lady did a nice job explaining different types and cuts of carpet to me, and really helped me decide on what I liked and could afford. I was able to take samples home and even brought some laminate floor samples home. I wound up getting a laminate floor, which I did not expect. It looks like wood and is a wide plank. It really changed the look of my home and I'm glad I came here. I did find cheaper carpet at Home Depot, but the staff isn't as attentive or as knowledgeable. I came into Carpet One because I recently bought a condo and needed new flooring. I had already been to the Home Depot, Lowe's, and tried the other smaller flooring shops around town, but didn't feel comfortable anywhere. All that changed when I walked into Carpet One. Robb asked me a few questions to help narrow down my choices, and then gave me options and why he thought they would work. In the end, I decided on carpet in the main living areas, laminate in the kitchen and entryway, and linoleum in the bathroom. Buyers beware! Disappointing results and terrible customer service. Do NOT believe the "beautiful guarantee." We worked with Rob from CarpetOne of Livermore to install new marble tiling throughout our kitchen in Oct 2016. The initial install was defective (poorly aligned) and when we followed up with Carpet One they were initially responsive -- but ultimately it turned out to be an elaborate ruse. Initially we were told that they were booked until April, but that they could schedule for it to be re-done in May. We understood that they were busy and were flexible with the timing, we even went through the trouble of clearing out our downstairs space for the re-tiling only to be cancelled on last minute (they were a no-show). Even then, we understand that mistakes happen and after some back and forth rescheduled for May 1st -- then AGAIN its a no-show. Calls, emails, are all left un-returned. Despite all this, when we turned up at the office (after nearly a month of radio silence!) to speak in-person, we were suddenly told that our desired tiling was no longer an option and that they only had a (non-matching!) dark brown/black marble to offer. After we insisted that this was NOT a sufficient solution to the issue, instead of talking through alternatives, the owner (Rob) became hostile and threatening and demanded that we leave immediately. In all my years I've never experienced such poor customer service. Luckily another staff member (co-owner) intervened and we reached a reasonable agreement, but all-in-all I will NEVER take my business back here and would recommend anyone looking for quality installations and reliable customer service to STEER CLEAR of Rob at CarpetOne. read more

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart because we really liked the husband and wife owners who helped us and out of the three carpet companies we got a quote from, they weren't the cheapest, but they seemed the most comfortable to work with. They let us bring home tons of samples and were very patient. I want to say that our carpet is beautiful, but I picked it out and Carpet One had nothing to do with how it looks. I'm rating them two stars on all the things that come along with buying new carpet that in my opinion, were not done correctly or not done at all. We purchased an expensive Frieze carpet and paid about 5K for 1400 square feet. We were NEVER advised our year old $500 Dyson vacuum would tear up the Frieze and be useless. It has no height settings and drags along and will eventually fray the carpet. It is honestly useless to me now, a complete waste of $500. I've purchased three different vacuums, all with height settings, and none of them are high enough to work on this carpet. We were also NEVER told that the majority of our doors would need to be shaved down because the carpet is so high. The doors drag along the carpet fraying it each time when you open and close them. I haven't even gotten an estimate on this and I'm not looking forward to losing hundreds more in paying for this service. These are major issues that will bring upon considerable expense and should have been disclosed prior to purchase. Part of being a reputable and thorough business is informing the customers of all of their options and the pros and cons for each option given. We would NEVER have picked this carpet if these two simple facts were told to us prior to purchase. read more

We had Carpet One install some carpet in our townhouse several months ago. Jay was friendly and helpful, but not the most proactive sales guy we had worked with before. Communication should have been better. This may have been because it was a smaller job. This review is for 2 stars primarily because of the install. The night after the install, I found myself stepping on sharp spikes all over the stairs and through the doorways. Apparently the installers decided to use tack strips in areas they shouldn't have. I called Carpet One and they said they would send someone out, though they seemed annoyed and did not apologize. The original installers returned a few days later and hammered down the spikes. This seemed like the lazy way to fix the problem and I still find a new spike from time to time. There are also a few lumps in the carpet and I'm not sure if it is something under the carpet or a defect in the carpet itself. All in all, I would not use Carpet One again. read more

Update: Carpet one has agreed to replace our floor with a different material. We are disappointed to hear that the manufacturer has stated their testing showed no problem with the product and have refused to cover the cost of this. I would also like to add that Robb and his wife Laurie ( owners) have been nothing but the most professional through all of this. My husband and I feel badly that they have to cover the cost of this because the company who makes the product won't. They are doing what they can to help turn this situation around for us and we appreciate it. A little tardy on the review, but I experienced nothing less than professionalism and good quality work from the folks at Carpet One of Livermore. We had a beautiful Ale House hardwood floor installed throughout our home including the stairs about 1year ago. The folks there were great in helping us decide which flooring color, length, and width to use based upon the layout and size of our home. Install took about a week, and each day the crew made sure to clean up before leaving and always arrived on time.
