I stopped in looking for an area rug and wasn't disappointed. They have a massive rack of rugs in just about every color you could imagine. There are classic/traditional rugs, solid rugs, modern rugs... something for everyone. I was approached by an employee after a couple minutes, and he was helpful but not pushy. I found something I wanted to purchase, and while they didn't have the exact size I wanted at this location, he arranged the order for one of the locations down south and it was ready when I arrived at that store less than an hour later. Be wary of Carpet Exchange. We purchased flooring for our basement remodel and had it installed by Carpet Exchange's team of installers. The salesperson we worked with was very nice. The install team was polite, clean, and efficient. Here is where things went wrong. During the install, I noticed that the product used for the stairs requires two pieces and the colors didn't match. I pointed this out to the install team. They said this is relatively normal and showed me pictures of other installs that experienced the same issue. My first thoughts were, "Why wasn't I told about this by the salesperson?" and "I wouldn't have chosen this product if I had known." The install team explained that there is a way to use only one product for the stairs, but it requires some custom work. My wife and I loved the idea and immediately agreed to go that direction. The install team contacted our salesperson, and they started the process of getting approvals to complete the work. When we asked the salesperson if they knew about the color difference, they said they didn't know about it or they would have told us. I'm thinking, "Why wouldn't the install team and the product vendor communicate to the sales team that the colors don't match?" That's a pretty big process breakdown. After a week of waiting for confirmation that the custom work would be done, we were informed by the store manager that they needed to talk to the product vendor, get samples shipped, arrange compensation to Carpet Exchange for the cost of the custom work, etc., but it should all be done in 3 weeks. At this point, we had already waited a month--what's 3 more weeks, right? Except, it's been three weeks and work hasn't even begun. Why? Because Carpet Exchange requires that you pay in full before the product is installed. Since they received our payment 2 months ago, they have no incentive to complete this work with any sense of urgency. It doesn't matter to them that we can't use our basement now. The other trades that need to come in after the flooring is done (drywall, paint, millwork, cabinets, finishes, etc.) have now removed us from their scheduling because they got tired of us asking for another week, then another week, while Carpet Exchange holds us hostage. What should have been a 3-day installation has now been ongoing for two months with no end in sight. The communication from Carpet Exchange has been lackluster, often requiring us to track down the manager just to get another vague reassurance. read more

After being passed between three people, I was told to just look up the manufacture information on the internet, he was too busy. Left me on hold for 10 minutes before I finally hung up. Certainly won't give this place my business if they can't even take the time to talk with you. Will go to their competitor. read more

I have never walked into a business and felt more unwelcome than I did walking in this establishment. We were only looking for a carpet sample and were immediately greeted with hostility and judgment. Truthfully felt uncomfortable walking in with Colorado casual clothes. They will tell you the carpet is in stock to make the sale and then call you after the sale to say it's on back order for several months. Their tactics completely ruined our project. Don't trust them. Update - the business "owner" responded saying that we came in 3 weeks ago and she tried to make it seem like they had stock then. But, she failed to mention that we came in yesterday and the sales guy told us to our face "it should only be a couple of weeks", he made the sale and then called us 5 minutes later to say it was on back order til December. Our experience with Carpet Exchange was absolutely horrible. We thought the savings were too good to be true and we were right. The installation was a nightmare. Their installers were unprofessional, did not take pride in their work, and did not care about our carpet or our property. Removal of the old carpet seemed to go OK but then as soon as they were prepping for the new carpet install everything started going wrong. They decided rather than replacing the old tack strips they would install parallel (side by side) strips to all the existing tack strips. We stopped them when we saw what they were doing and had to call the installation manager to correct the process. The installation manager came out and then argued with us about the installation and about replacement of the tack strips. She even stated that the old strips were far superior to the new tack strips and they leave the old ones as they're "better quality." Apparently, you can spend $8500 on carpet and installation but not expect them to replace old worn out tack strips. They had the nerve to then charge us an extra $50 just for the strips. Very tacky. The installers then begrudgingly replaced all the tack strips and installed the pad. Seemed everything was going better at this point until they started getting the new carpet ready. The installers decided that it would be best to unroll and cut our brand new carpet in the middle to the street. I went out to see what they were doing and found the new carpet covered in dirt, rocks, and leaves. Thousands of dollars in carpet being unrolled in the middle of a public street without protection. They, of course, took offense to being called out on this and the head installer told everyone to stop working and called them all out to the street. Another call to the installation manager had to be made to get work going again and to have the installers unroll some of the old carpet in our driveway to protect the new carpet as it was unrolled and cut. Apparently, this is what they were supposed to be doing in the first place and the installation manager didn't believe us when we called. Of course, the new carpet still made its way into the house with debris and we had to check and clean off the carpet ourselves. The installers thought this was all funny and made jokes and comments about us in Spanish thinking we didn't understand. Once the entire nightmare was over, the carpet seemed OK but we found nails and pieces of tack strips in all the floor vents, found tack strips and old carpet pad thrown in our basement and hidden in our closet, and found the floor vent holes cut crooked and uneven. For days we were stepping on and picking staples and small nails out of the carpet. They even wound up in our dogs paws. Absolutely horrible. There was zero follow up after our experience even from the sale rep that specifically said he'd call afterwards. I would never repeat business with Carpet Exchange and would never recommend them. Don't bother with any savings you may think you're getting as the frustration and headache will be more costly. read more

Store has a terrible return policy. They will not allow returns on purchased tile. I am stuck with $900 worth of shower floor tile that I could not return. I tried to reason with the store personnel, because I have done a lot of business with them, but they would not relent. I made a mistake in my design choice, and tile did not match the shower complement when I took it home. I am not a designer. It can happen to anyone. I am stuck with $900 worth of tile that I cannot do anything with. Drove 40 miles to a store that had tile in stock to purchase and take home, and it was 50% cheaper. Working with Carpet Exchange had its ups and downs: I have a 900 square foot condo, and I had laminate installed in the kitchen and entryway, and new carpet everywhere else (minus bathrooms). I experienced huge amounts of frustration with the laminate install, from scheduling issues despite me taking preventive measures and making extra phone calls, to lack of communication regarding the status of the installation, to my stove being left on by the installer... Three separate visits to my home were required to complete this very small part of the job. It was a nightmare that had me in tears at one point. I was dreading the carpet installation, but the people who installed my carpet were great. They arrived on-time, worked very hard, and were very pleasant. They even asked me if I needed any help moving furniture after they wrapped things up. They saved me an hour of time by moving my 30 gallon fish tank for me. I'm pleased with the work they did, and very pleased with the way they treated me. Two very different experiences with the same company make me question the consistency of their subcontractors. This experience was much more complicated and stressful than it should have been, but I felt like Jay (salesperson) and Evelyn (manager) put in the effort to listen to my concerns and rectify the situation. read more

From start to finish our purchase and experience with Carpet Exchange has been horrific. From a misleading sales associate to multiple miscommunications to no communication on delivery dates, a complete disappointment. We purchased from Carpet Exchange and paid a premium being told they had the products readily available. Over a week past when we should have gotten our flooring we still don't have it and at this point we could have saved a few hundred dollars and gotten a special order flooring delivered and installed from another company. Instead we are still awaiting not only our flooring but any kind of update or response from the store. It's understandable that mistakes will happen but misleading customers to make a sale is unacceptable and subsequent poor communication and follow up is horrible business practice. Have bought here 3 times now, and each one has been worse. The first was new carpet in the basement which went well. The next was granite countertops, which was not impressive due to the customer service at the store, and extremely rude measurement and installers. After a few years, we went back for new carpet upstairs. The customer service in the store was fine, but the person sent out to measure was so rude I told him to leave, and immediately went to the store to cancel the order. After getting a voicemail at 6:30pm that he would be there between 9:30-11am. We left a voicemail back stating we had work meetings and would need to confirm. I called back in the morning to tell him I had a meeting until 9:30am but will leave work and should be home at 10;00am. When I arrived at 10:05am, he was so put out and complained that he had othe appointments that he probably not make. I told him to leave and go to his other appointments. After cancelling the order back at the store (which was estimated at $7500 just for carpet, and would have had an additional $15,000 or so in hardwood floors, I did not receive a call from anyone asking about the experience. You would expect the manager may be curious We are still getting voicemails to reschedule the measurements, so apparently the communication that he had already caused the order to be cancelled was too hard. Ordered it through a local Carpet Exchange store, but were told when it came in at the warehouse that we would have to pick it up ourselves. No offer of any type to have it delivered to their store. Used Carpet Exchange on Wadsworth in 2015 and completely satisfied. Recently moved to Highlands Ranch and needed 800 sq ft of carpet in my home. The Highlands Ranch store went south quickly even from the carpet sample process. Then we get to the install and Carpet Exchange sent us their lowly install team............a husband and wife team that was here from 9:00 a.m. til almost 11:00 p.m. on a Friday night then had the balls to steal one of our nice solid would floor registers and replace it with some beat up, piece of shit steel one that was bent and had spray paint on it. Seriously? That husband and wife team should be banned from the Carpet Exchange network of installers immediately. I'd go to Carpet Mill or some other company the next time I need flooring or have friends that need a recommendation. It will not be Carpet Exchange. read more

Had a good experience with Carpet Exchange up until the install. The time window to expect arrival is 8-10am and they didn't show up until 11:30. They sent one installer with his wife for two larger rooms to be carpeted, and it is now 9:15pm and they are still not finished, as I write this review. But this could have contributed to the fact that they were on their phones half the time. Very poor execution of the install and extremely disappointing. Also still waiting to hear back from the manager of the store, after calling to speak to them, but they're probably at home getting ready for bed by now. I've been to a lot of places with bad customer service but nothing on the level I experienced from this store. The person who helped me out here was Jay. Jay was very unenthusiastic about helping find what I needed for my floors for my kitchen and bedroom. The whole meeting itself felt rushed and Jay didn't even offer a pad for my carpet. I asked Jay about a reduction in the sales tax because of a builders permit I possessed and he seemed to lack knowledge on something that most people who deal with the selling of floors would have. When I inquired to Jay about a possible military discount after overhearing a customer next to me receive a military discount, Jay told me they don't give military discounts unless it's a substantial price. Jay wouldn't give me a definite definition of what constitutes a "substantial price" so I thanked Jay for his time and I went down to a carpet exchange store down in Parker and spoke to a guy named Jim who said they do give military discounts no matter what price. Jim said that this is pretty standard for all stores after asking if it is just this specific store that gives discounts. I wouldn't recommend this carpet exchange store to not even my worst enemy. If you want to experience racism, sterotyping against hispanics, you name it, then this store is the perfect place to experience it all. read more

Our original thoughts ended up not looking good once we got samples back to the house. She ordered extra samples for us and her suggestions looked great and we ended up with 2 rooms of great looking carpet. Price was good and there just happened to be a previous client appreciation sale, so we got an extra discount and an upgraded pad. We've been dealing with a frustrating situation with this Carpet Exchange store for more than a year now. We purchased carpet for three rooms from here. The sales guy did not seem very knowledgeable, but we weren't looking for a dissertation on carpet-- we just wanted a durable carpet that looked and felt nice. Right out of the gate, we said we have a kid and a dog and we wanted something that was durable and would not show stains easily. We ended up with one of their nicer (more expensive) carpets which the salesman highly recommended and said its one of their best sellers. Once installed, we found that the carpet was extremely hard to vacuum-- it had a sort of loose loop thing going on (I really don't know carpet terms) that made it hard to push the vacuum on. When I asked the store about it, they started asking what kind of vacuum I had (answer- we had two, a Hoover and an Oreck) and actually suggested maybe I should get a new vacuum. Seriously? I need to buy a new vacuum just to clean this carpet? You've got to be kidding me. We also specified that we didn't like carpets that showed a lot of color change when people walk on it or it is vacuumed. The one that we got totally does that. So another strike there. Then the worst part-- the loops of the carpet started pulling up so that there are these strings everywhere and it looks like absolute crap. It already looked 10 years old after just a couple months. I had someone come out to see if it could be covered under warranty, but they said that it was not a defective carpet but rather that it was my dog's fault and her nails were pulling it up! She's just a regular medium sized dog- not a giant or even an active puppy- she's 11. He actually started telling me that maybe I could file her nails more. So now it's NOT the carpet's fault, but rather my dog and my vacuum's fault that the carpet looks like sh*t. If we had picked out some fancy carpet, maybe. But the FIRST thing we said when we walked in the door was that we had a dog and a kid and we needed something durable. We actually sit on the floor and trim a million tiny strings that pull out of the carpet. Well, we did, but we're over it and stopped doing that. We have called, emailed, gone into the store, and while the people have seemed like they might help, and even might care a little, then they just don't respond, ask the same questions over and over that we already answered, start down the road about the kind of vacuum and dog that we have, etc. and we have never gotten anywhere with them. So now we have a carpet that we absolutely hate, but that isn't that old and that we spent a lot of money on, and we're going to have to replace it again. But not from Carpet Exchange! I'll never go to this store again. So frustrating. UPDATE: Since there really is no option to respond to the managers comments below, I wanted to do so here. What she describes below is almost true. This is pretty much how the situation went this time around. However, the dog doesn't nest in the carpet-- she just walks on it, and the loops are pulling up in several locations, not just two locations. They are worst in two locations where the dog likes to hang out, but they have also pulled up in my son's room and the baby's nursery, places where my cranky old lady dog who loves quiet and hates unpredictable small humans hates to go. The other day, the bottom of my husbands dress shoes pulled up a loop. And, while the timeline Evelyn describes below is true for this round of back and forth with the store, this is NOT the first time we've had carpet exchange reps out to look at this. Well over a year ago-- and I'm thinking maybe more like 2 years ago, we had two guys come out. One guy came out and meticulously sat and clipped all the loops that had pulled out with a small knife so that was nice. And then he said it was worth sending his boss out who is the guy who handles defective carpet and warranty issues- can't remember his name, but they were both nice guys. That guy said it didn't look like a defective carpet issue and that he would have sales get in touch with me and no one ever did. So we let it go for a while because sometimes it's just better to do that than have this constant annoyance hanging over your head. But this past fall my husband started fighting for the cause again, and that's the situation below. And while I really do appreciate the efforts taken on our behalf, and it was more than I was aware of, the bottom line is that we were sold a crappy carpet - it's great that it is holding up well in your showroom, but clearly that isn't the case in our home and it's not like we're practicing Irish step-dancing in metal cleats on the carpet-- we're not that cool. Just a normal family. The store has offered to allow us to buy new carpet at a discount, but we'd still be paying to carpet three rooms twice. I just really feel Carpet Exchange should stand by their products, even if unable to file a warranty claim. read more

Mary was our salesperson and she was great to work with. We had carpet installed in our new-build home. Love the carpet, but the install work left a lot to be desired. There are two seams that are long humps in the hallway. Carpet Exchange has been onsite ~4 times now to fix the issue. I was advised to vacuum a different direction during at least 3 of the visits, including the last visit April 2019. An installation manager visited my home after the first repair team didn't fix the issue. The installation manager pointed out to me that the edges of the carpet in the seams were on top of each other causing the lumpy seams. Several visits later and the problem still exists. Spoke with current installation manager and sent her pictures of the seams before their last visit last week. They told me to vacuum a different direction and pounded on the seams before leaving. In my opinion, The Carpet Exchange at County Line sells substandard products and provides little to no customer service after the sale is made. I believe their sales people are incompetent and their sales manager is even more incompetent. For the second time in a row, the "brand new carpet" they installed was defective. When we brought it to their attention immediately after installation, they refused to replace the carpet for the section that was stained by the manufacturer. Bottom line is this, this store is friendly when they're selling to you. My experience was that once the sale was done, the service was over. You'd be better off buying your carpet at Lowes or Home Depot in my opinion. This store seems to have a track record of selling defective products and then refusing to provide customer satisfaction even when it is their defect. This is the worst customer experience I've had in many years. The Regional Manager for this place should be very disappointed in the employees that are representing this store and their company. read more

Scott Ellis at this Carpet Exchange store was recommended by an interior designer. I wanted to replace the carpeting in my bedrooms and study with the hardwood flooring already installed in my home. I"m so glad I followed her recommendation. Scott was excellent in his explanations, suggestions, and help with all the details from beginning to end. He responded quickly to any questions I had. And he is such a pleasant person and I trusted him. It's important to believe in the integrity of the person and company you are dealing with. Their flooring contractors did an outstanding job with the installation and were very careful with my furniture. Carpet exchange made it much easier for me to update my home. They have so much hardwood and carpet selections, so it was nice to be able to do both in one trip. The installers were great and got the job done very quickly. I worked with TJ Jensen and only have few complaints. When first walking into the store, TJ pointed me in the right direction of everything I wanted and had my colors picked out within an hour. He was very knowledgable about the differences of each product and would explain why the product I was getting was the best. TJ came to my condo on his day off and did the measurements himself so he knew he would be getting me an accurate estimate. The only thing I think I would say is that sometimes TJ was hard to reach. I had to do the financing and there were also some other problems with my installation (I had to get new concrete before they could lay down the flooring.) I schedule the carpet and hardwood, but had to reschedule the installation after encountering the gyptcrete problem. I would call TJ multiple times a day and leave messages, but rarely would I hear back. It seemed that I would only talk to him in person if he called me or he answered my call. When i called about rescheduling, I confirmed the dates of the hardwood and carpet installation THREE times (once in person). I received a courtesy reminder call from the hardwood guys a day before, but did not receive one from carpet. I waited at my place with no carpet guys arriving, and after calling they said that I was never put on the schedule for installation. Although they were scheduling a few weeks out, carpet exchange (a different person) was able to round up installers and materials from a different warehouse. So at least they made it right, but it still made for a stressful morning. So in all, it was a good experience, and TJ was able to get the installations schedule in a timely manner, it was just the small things that annoyed me. read more

I called Carpet Exchange @ 4:00 on a Tuesday and spoke with Greg who talked to me about their process of the turnaround time it'd take to get this finished. That same day I walked into their store around 5:00 with my measurements and by 5:30 I had carpet I really liked (and had similarly found at Lowes), got a great price and we are having our carpet installed this Saturday. 4 days to get it all taken care of. This is the only thing that's been easy about this renovation and I am so appreciative of Greg and Carpet Exchange. I will definitely be back when we finish the rest of the basement. read more

I worked with Jay Land at the Countyline store and he was great! Very patient as we had a lot going on and had to select tile for master bath floor and carpeting for entire 2nd floor of our home. Jay ordered many samples of carpet (!) and checked available stock and helped me select the bath tile. He kept me informed and scheduled the work and followed up to see how installation was going and after all was completed checked back in.
