    Pistachio cheesecake
    Nathalie M.

When I came to this small place, it was really busy so I was really excited to try their cheesecake. I picked the pistachio one. It was good but not crazy awesome and I thought it was a bit overpriced for the size of the slice. When we asked them if they had keto options, they showed us a box with cheesecake inside but it looked industrial. If you are craving cheesecake, this is a good place to go as they have a lot of different flavors, however, it's not the best cheesecake I've had.

Technical difficulties w their payment machine. Not many customers. Waited 45 mins for Cobb salad and soup which both arrived at the same time. Took 10% off my bill acknowledging the wait. Ok food. Wish it had been quicker but they were nice.

Service is really warm and friendly! I got the chicken wrap with coleslaw which tasted fresh and home made. They also have a selection of pastas, which looks very filling! Their food is made well with good specials for lunch and dinner in this area. My favorite is the red velvet or original cheesecake, which is creamy and just the right texture. Looking forward to coming back to try other cheesecakes!

Best Carrot Cake in Toronto confirmed.
    Zeynep K.

Granted, I only got the cream cheese aspect that this place is known for in the icing of the carrot cake I ordered... but it was because they claimed it was voted the best in Toronto! I have to agree, it was delicious, warm and great frosting to cake ratio. I tried some of the cappuccino cheesecake and tiramisu. The cheesecake was very rich and decadent. The tiramisu was very dense, and tasted more like cheesecake than mascarpone cheese. Definitely liked my choice of the carrot cake the best. Our server, Mat, was very attentive and kind. Even the server who cashed us out was pleasant. The place needs a bit of a fix, very little space for seating and a lot of the seating is falling apart. Otherwise, a great place for dessert!

New York Cheesecake with Strawberry Topping – brought the slice to the restaurant where we celebrated my friend's birthday!

Really creamy and soft cheesecake, but decent cheesecake crust! FOOD // I ordered the New York Cheesecake with Strawberry Topping on the side to-go! When we had it during dinner, the cheesecake was really creamy and soft! The crust itself tasted a little doughy and wasn't anything special. SERVICE // The service wasn't very friendly. There wasn't really a nice greeting when you go to the cashier desk nor was there good service as I ordered. I don't know if the service would be any different if I were to dine in, rather than get cake to go. ATMOSPHERE // The restaurant is pretty average and it seems more like a to-go place rather than dine-in. PRICE // It was an expensive slice of cake, around $9.50 for one slice of cheesecake and the topping. Overall, the cheesecake was quite good, but not really worth a trip to Yorkville just for it.

    Grilled vegetarian panini ($12.99)

I was excited to check this place out and I wanted to love my experience here, but honest truth, it was just meeeehh. We were in the Yorkville area and wanted to grab a dessert. Many of the restaurants are closed by 7pm so I yelped the nearest dessert place that was still open and landed here. Service-wise, it was nothing special or spectacular. We had to get our own water and wave a waiter/waitress for extra silverware and plates. I wish service was more attentive but with about two people working in the cafe, I guess that's the best they can do. We ordered a veggie panini and chocolate brownie sundae. The panini tasted great, it was served hot with beautiful grill marks but for $13.99, that was pretty steep. We also had the chocolate brownie sundae, which was extremely mediocre. The brownie was nothing out of this world, just your plain old brownie; there weren't even chocolate chips or nuts in the brownie. The whip cream was crazy overkill in this dessert--probably to hide how little brownie is actually in the dish. The ice cream was okay, but then again, who doesn't like ice cream? Overall, I would not recommend ordering this dish, especially since it costed $9.99. Rather, I would say get a cake for $6.99~7.99 and then add $2.49 for a scoop of ice cream with it--you may get a bit more bang for your buck. Would I return? Maybe, because I haven't tried their cheesecake so there is a chance that I'd return. *Remember to show them that you Yelp so you get 10% off but don't expect any special treatment just because you are a Yelper.*

A great place for a dessert date, with the ambient lighting and delectable cheesecake. After trying a slice or two of most of the flavours, I would recommend the Triple Chocolate. The staff are mostly polite, but I've had a few instances where an employee was rushing my order -- which I understand, the place gets fairly busy.

    Dulce de Leche
    Karla T.

I bumped into this place while walking around. The place is small and the seats were not very comfortable. I ordered Dulce de Leche cheesecake. It was decent, not amazingly good, but not bad. (better than cheesecakes at my school). It's creamy, sweet, and decadently rich in flavour. I also ordered Peach n' Cream milkshake, which was pretty good. Not too sweet, and it was peachy (just how I like it). Good portion size as well!! They have lots of choices and the pistachio looks pretty good. Oh and I didn't know they have brownie until I heard someone ordered it (i was overwhelmed with their cheesecakes I didn't even look at the menu). I may try both brownie and pistachio cheesecake next time. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They were a bit slow even though the shop wasn't that busy. But, they apologized for their lateness, which were pretty sweet. I wasn't in a hurry anyway. It was a bit pricey for cheesecake. But this is yorkville, I wasn't surprised. 3 stars because the place was pretty small. I'm not a nosy person but I could hear everything from the next table lol.

Carole's Cheesecake Cafe is the place to get cheesecake and desserts in Toronto! I have been coming here for more than 10 years and always recommend the place to friends and coworkers. It is a small cafe serving cakes and savory foods located on Cumberland around Bay subway station in Yorkville. They have a wide variety of cheesecakes and cakes for you to choose from and service is always quick and friendly!

    Mahsa N.

So my review will be focused only on their cheesecakes. I realize that they have an entire food menu, but I've never had their savoury food, and my experience here has been limited to cheesecakes. We got their classic New York cheesecake with blueberry sauce and the caramel brownie cheesecake. Both were delicious! The brownie cheesecake was on the heavier side but it was very tasty! They also give you unlimited refills on coffee which is great when having cheesecake. Note: I must say that I did come here two years ago and remember their red velvet cheesecake being dried. I must say their brownie cheesecake was not dry at all, so either they've upped their game or I came in closer to when the cheesecake was baked this time so it was more fresh!

Extremely disappointed. I've been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally did it and got a strawberry swirl cheesecake slice. For 7$ a slice, I'd expect the slice to be much bigger. Also, there was a thick skin formed on top of the cheese. It tasted old and left out.

    Unaiza P.

Super happy this place exists - if you are doing low carb/keto, they have low carb options for some of their cheesecakes! Only 2 grams net carbs! That being said the servings are very miniscule, hurt to pay 6 bucks for that sliver of cheesecake. Most of us low carb folks are used to making our own desserts at home but if you ever want to treat yourself, theres caroles cheesecake! I had the cappuccino swirl and then the raspberry strawberry swirl. My non keto buddy had a rocky road cheesecake.

Amazing service at reasonable prices in the heart of yorkville. Food was average towards the high side. Servers were attentive, very friendly and efficient, which made for the above average experience. Overall would visit again! Good place to visit for a quick bite and a drink.

    Yummy!!!

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!
