Food: For drinks, we started with a couple of mojitos, a margarita, and a paloma. Everyone was happy with their orders. Really surprised by how good all the food was. We started with guacamole and chips and a salsa flight. The chips were hot, right out of the fryer. The guac was well seasoned and had excellent texture. The salsa flight was interesting and added a bit of fun to the start of the meal. For the meal, we had a couple of orders of sopes (one al pastor and the other vegan chorizo), a trio of tacos (shrimp, beef, and chicken), and I got the Birria Fajita. Everyone enjoyed their food, with one exception: the chicken taco was a bit spicier than expected. Someone else finished that off. The side order of beans was just okay, but the rice was excellent. Good texture, with a good balance of seasoning. Because it was a birthday, they provided a complimentary piece of chocoflan cake, which was the best I've ever had. The chocolate cake base really complements the custard texture of the flan. We also got an order of churros, which came out fresh and warm. Eating them with the side of vanilla ice cream was a real treat for the rest of us. Service: Started out great! Menus, drinks, water, and appetizers all arrived promptly. Given how few people were in the restaurant, it took a while for the food to arrive--45 minutes after we ordered. My meal was also missing the side of beans and rice. After I mentioned that and the server apologized, I still had to remind them that I was waiting. The sides arrived well past the point when they would have been enjoyable with my meal. The server apologized again, and they volunteered to comp our desserts. At least someone recognized that the service had fallen short. Atmosphere: For a Mexican restaurant, the interior design is refreshing. Not your typical loud colors with sombreros. It has a hip feel to it, with accents of lime green floor tiles, collections of small framed pictures, pink vinyl chair coverings, and white globe light fixtures. It might be a little jarring for some tastes, but I thought it all worked together. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. I hope the service we had isn't representative of what normally happens. The food was good enough that I would give it a second chance.

Tortillas were crispy and fried to perfection. The consommé was delicious, had me drinking it straight out the cup and was well seasoned, hot, and was in its own something to right about. The red and green salsas were also good. Red having a bit of kick, green was flavorful. I will say that I wish one of them had more heat to it but the acidity and flavors were great. The beef itself was so flavorful and tender, well seasoned, not to mention had the perfect amount in each item. Also, Onions and peppers on the side were cooked great and had me going back for more each time. Also, get the horchata, it was spectacular. This place is small but decorated to really feel like the owners, workers, really care and take pride in the establishment. It had a great ambiance that was full of people on a rainy lunch hour, and I can see why. As a person who works in the industry as a cook, the kitchen, which you can see when you order is neat, clean, and truly has the right feel of 'they know what they're doing and they're doing it well'. 5 stars, will be talking about this meal for a long time and spreading the recommendation to as many people as I can.

Their chicharron tacos in green salsa taste just like mom made them, and all their meats have a flavor you have to hunt down and go through 5-10 different spots to find them in other cities. Service is friendly, and the establishment is what you want a good Mexican restaurant to look like. The TV playing '90s Mexican music videos was a nice bonus. This is the best Mexican food in Milwaukee, the closest thing to it, and probably still falling short would be Atotonilco in Chicago. It came with the Mexican Rice and Cowboy Beans and churros for dessert. I also got the Rudy's classic margarita. We didn't see the waitress too much but they might've been busy or maybe she was the only one on staff. She was super nice though and got all of our orders correct. When we asked to split the checks at the end, it was sort of odd that they divided everything evenly, including drinks and put 1/4 of each drink on each check. The guacamole was nice and fresh and came with little tortilla strips on top which I took off to dip the tortilla chips in. The queso was nice, salty, and well seasoned. The Margarita was delicious, well blended, just strong enough and a nice size. As far as tacos, The Argentinian steak taco was definitely my favorite. The meat was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. The El Pastor was also very flavorful and the avo vinaigrette that came on it paired well with the dish. The shrimp on the crispy shrimp taco were big and flavorful, just a little on the dry side. The rice and beans were pretty standard, nothing super special or memorable. The churros came out warm, nice crunch on the outside and soft in the middle. The white dipping sauce reminded me of cereal and the darker one was a chocolate with almost a mole sauce type taste. Super fun place and I would definitely come back!

They had space for our group, but could only split the bill two ways, and gratuity was automatically added for groups of 6 or more. I was the first to arrive and was asked to wait at the bar since they couldn't seat us until everyone in the party was there. I ordered the Hibiscus Lime Margarita. It was refreshing, and I would order it again. Our table had multiple baskets of chips and salsa, and I added a bowl of queso fundido (chihuahua cheese, pepper jack cheese, corn salsa, paprika, and cilantro). My end of the table went through it quickly. For my meal I had two tacos, the Gringo Pollo (part of the Thursday special) and the Tuna Poke. Both came with items removed at my request and were tasty. Service was quick, and Oliver was friendly. Prices are reasonable, though a bit higher than I'd prefer. This would be an occasional fun spot for me, not my go-to taco place.

The menu features small bites, chicken, loaded fries, and they have specials too. I ordered at the counter and got a text once my food my was ready. There's plenty of seating inside the brewery and the interior is unique because it used to be a church. Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure it was at some point. Anyway, I had to try the birria egg rolls because there was a ton of signage. First, they were quite large. The exterior had a great crunch and the interior was stuffed full of delicious birria, mozzarella, and chihuahua cheese. The ancho chipotle aioli was nice and smoky and paired well with the eggrolls. Definitely recommend and I wish I lived in the area because I could make a meal out of just these. I also tried one of the specials, the Chicken Tinga eggrolls. Again, they were bigger than expected, had a delicious, crispy exterior, and was stuffed full of chicken tinga and queso. It was served with a side of crema. Perfect pairing and I might have enjoyed these slightly more than the birria ones. I highly recommend that you check them out. I'm jealous that I don't live closer because we don't have a place like this in KC. They are definitely a unique place with delicious food.
