Stationed at Zocalo food park, Mazorca Tacos made it into our epic quest to find the best consume in the city. Service was freaky fast. However, if you order online and you already checked in but your order isn't up yet, let them know that you are there in person, too. They tend to be busy and can forget to check the online orders consistently. Anyway, back to the food.... We only ordered 1 order of the birria tacos. They were advertised to come with consume, but they don't. No extra juice on the side. :( HOWEVER, they load the tacos wet - they don't let the meat drip dry, they just slap it into the tortilla so you do actually get quite a deliciously succulent bite of birria beef drenched in consume. I really loved the tomato "comsume" they served with the tacos and I really liked that they added pickled red onion, which isn't perfectly traditional, but it's so tasty!

Steak burrito

I visited on a busy Sunday during an event. I ordered a steak burrito with avocado. The wait was 10 min or less. The burrito was hot, flavorful, and large.

MEH. This is NOT a birria taco. Shell with meat and tomato "salsa". Birria tacos are cooked on the grill and include consommé. We waited almost 20 min for 3 tacos and a side of rice. Food is decent but definitely not worth the wait and the price.

Tacos were ok, nothing special. I had high hopes after reading the reviews but I found them to be pretty average. The staff at the truck seemed to be distracted, only thing said to me at my visit was "here."

2 of each tacos besides vegetarian

Decided to stop by Mazorca tascos Sunday after for lunch. It is located on 6th street, it is parked in a little food truck area. We ordered 2 of each tacos besides the vegetarian tacos. Also ordered a horchata and a Jamaica drink. The order and service was decent, it wasn't so busy so I can say for sure how the wait would be if it was busy. We got our food within reasonable amount of time. They had two different spicy salsa you can put on self serve. The Tacos! Delicious, each one had its own unique taste. The tortilla are made fresh in the truck. Tender meat and very flavorful. I don't remember the names to each taco but they were all very good. 6 tacos and 2 large drink came to $22 so it's reasonable. The tacos itself is a decent size. Definitely a place to try if you in the mood for some tacos. I am bookmarking this place for my taco stop.

Dual rear wheels with a rear diff still on the frame, Frankenstein's trailer.

I have been trying to get to this place ever since they opened but until today it was never in its spot, I just came at the wrong times. The place is a small trailer that looks like they cut up a pickup truck frame and attached the camper portion, it has dual rear wheels with the rear diff still intact, look at my picture. The menu is smaller than most taco trucks with 4 tacos, three meat and 1 veggie with a few sides and drinks. I had the Al Pastor and the Bistec with a small cup of the sauce. The Al Pastor is marinated pork, avocado cilantro salsa, pineapple, cilantro and onion. The Bistec is marinated beef, beans, tomatillo salsa, onion and cilantro. I did pour the orange sauce on them which was tasty with some heat. The Bistec was good with the beans but it was a wet filling so it was messy and the tortilla kind of fell apart, the tacos are on one tortilla only. The Al Pastor was my favorite by far with the pork slightly crispy/crusty playing well with the pineapple and all the other flavors. Beef/steak used to be my meat of choice but the pork Al Pastor just keeps getting better than it was years ago so I'm gravitating more towards it. I like the KISS approach to this trailer, keep the menu small and do it well. I'm glad that I finally found them today and I would definitely get tha Al Pastor tacos from now on.

Jamaica. This one made with jamaica he just brought up from Mexico in March!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Mazorca yet. I've been enjoying their tacos since their beginning, when their menu was written in markers on white construction paper. They currently have 5 tacos to choose from, Al Pastor (pork), Birria (shredded beef), Bistec (marinated steak), Vegetarian, and Vegan. I've had all of them except the vegan, but I'll try it soon enough. All of the tacos are delicious and all under $3. Plus they make the tortillas from scratch - on the trailer! Yeah, ON THE TRAILER! Not at home and reheated on the flat top, but right there! I don't really have a favorite because I love them all, but the Bistec is served with delicious beans, which is not something I've seen in town at any other taco truck or joint. I took a co-worker (she is from Mexico) to Mazorca once and she flipped when she saw them scoop beans out of the kettle and onto the taco. She said "OMG, just like the street tacos I've had in Mexico!" So, is it authentic? Uh, yeah. Didn't you see that my co-worker just confirmed it? Other items I've enjoyed are their housemade chips and guacamole, horchata, and jamaica made with jamaica that was brought up from Mexico a few months earlier by the owner's uncle! What more do you want?!?! People drive past this taco trailer, parked on the corner of 1st and Pittsburgh on the Third Ward/Walkers Point border, and wonder "is that place any good?" Yes, it is good. It's very good. They need to pull in to the free parking lot and get some tacos already!

I Love Tacos!!! I also Love Food Trucks! So rolling up to Zocalo and seeing this Taco truck I already knew I was going to love it and boy was I right! We came here for a date night dinner because I've been hyping up the taco trucks in the Walker Point area, but realized I've never had Mazorca Tacos. I believe they offer a total of 6 different tacos with a vegetarian option and a vegan option. The pricing of tacos are very fair and the service was pretty quick. We ordered tacos to go and considering it is a taco truck social distancing is pretty easy to do. I ordered 2 Pastor and 1 Bistec while my date ordered a Birria, a Bistec, and a Vegan. I enjoyed my tacos and thought they were really good, but was a little disappointed by the Pastor. Pastor is usually my favorite taco type, but I thought the Bistec was better than the Pastor here. My date absolutely loved her tacos. Her reaction after her first bite of the Birria made me realize I made the wrong move on the tacos I chose. She really enjoyed the Vegan taco too and ranked the tacos she ordered 1. Birria 2. Vegan and 3. Bistec. Overall the tacos here are great! I know the next time I come back I will definitely be getting the Birria and vegan. I cant say it's the best taco truck in the area, but it's definitely a really good choice!

I've been wanting to try their tacos for awhile, yet never actually made my way over to the lot. They had 4 options, three meat and one vegetarian. It seems like their menu has stayed the same from most reviews and that's not a bad thing! The vegetarian taco honestly sounded a bit boring to me, being that cheese was the only base of it, but it was actually delicious! I think it would benefit from the addition of beans, I wish that was an option. The tacos are small, I would say get 3 to make it a complete meal. They also have a guac and chips option for a side. The vegetarian tacos were $2.50 each so it's not an expensive meal. It's a pretty simple set-up, you walk to the truck and order what you want (cash only) and once it's ready, you eat! I'm excited to take a few people there soon.

Solid street tacos. It's summer and that means food trucks, but this one is out there pretty much all the time. I had been past it tons of times but never actually stopped there until today. I was on my way to Polish Fest but I was starving and I didn't want to go too crazy with the festival food so I stopped for a taco. I ended up getting talked into two. I had the Birria and the Bistec. They were both good but I thought the Birria had just a little more flavor. I love shredded beef and anything with pickled onions, but that's just a preference. I would probably try the vegetarian tacos just because the reviews make them sound so good. And I could definitely see being thirsty and going for one of their drinks too. As the tacos are just $2-$2.75 it's a good value. I'll probably be back.

Taco trucks are a great option in the era of socially-distanced dining, and Mazorca Tacos (located in the Zocalo Food Park) is a solid choice for reasonably priced street tacos. Our first attempts using the online system failed due to the max capacity of orders being reached at that time, but we were eventually able to sample the al pastor, birria, and bistec tacos as well as the chips and guac. The al pastor taco was definitely our favorite with flavorful moist pork topped with avocado cilantro salsa and onions. The birria and bistec tacos were less impressive as the beef seemed a bit drier. Keep in mind that the tacos are small (my husband needed at least 4 to have a satisfying meal) so order accordingly!

The inside of the restaurant was super cool it was decorated. I went there for dining week and got…read morethe guacamole and queso appetizers, Argentinian Steak taco, Al Pastor taco, and Crispy Shrimp taco. It came with the Mexican Rice and Cowboy Beans and churros for dessert. I also got the Rudy's classic margarita. We didn't see the waitress too much but they might've been busy or maybe she was the only one on staff. She was super nice though and got all of our orders correct. When we asked to split the checks at the end, it was sort of odd that they divided everything evenly, including drinks and put 1/4 of each drink on each check. The guacamole was nice and fresh and came with little tortilla strips on top which I took off to dip the tortilla chips in. The queso was nice, salty, and well seasoned. The Margarita was delicious, well blended, just strong enough and a nice size. As far as tacos, The Argentinian steak taco was definitely my favorite. The meat was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. The El Pastor was also very flavorful and the avo vinaigrette that came on it paired well with the dish. The shrimp on the crispy shrimp taco were big and flavorful, just a little on the dry side. The rice and beans were pretty standard, nothing super special or memorable. The churros came out warm, nice crunch on the outside and soft in the middle. The white dipping sauce reminded me of cereal and the darker one was a chocolate with almost a mole sauce type taste. Super fun place and I would definitely come back!

They specialize in elevated street tacos and small plates. Tuesdays have $2 tacos and Thursdays have $3 tacos, and the kitchen stays open later than most, midnight Tuesday through Thursday and 1:30am Friday and Saturday. They had space for our group, but could only split the bill two ways, and gratuity was automatically added for groups of 6 or more. I was the first to arrive and was asked to wait at the bar since they couldn't seat us until everyone in the party was there. I ordered the Hibiscus Lime Margarita. It was refreshing, and I would order it again. Our table had multiple baskets of chips and salsa, and I added a bowl of queso fundido (chihuahua cheese, pepper jack cheese, corn salsa, paprika, and cilantro). My end of the table went through it quickly. For my meal I had two tacos, the Gringo Pollo (part of the Thursday special) and the Tuna Poke. Both came with items removed at my request and were tasty. Service was quick, and Oliver was friendly. Prices are reasonable, though a bit higher than I'd prefer. This would be an occasional fun spot for me, not my go-to taco place.
