I had the opportunity to reserve the for Back Room for a birthday party and have unlimited open bar and food with a group around 25+ attendees. It was a blast. They have an amazing sound system, a stage that is the oldest in Milwaukee. I am impressed with the space, the owners Jess and Tom really thought this through and so happy they hosted and really made everything run smoothly! Their food and drinks are fantastic, I cannot speak more highly of their high ability food, drinks, and the venue. The party attendees were super impressed and gave many compliments to the venue, the food, and the owners! Highly Recommend!

The highly anticipated re-opening of Electric Lime has arrived in their new space at Cathedral Square. I stopped in for Taco Tuesday last night with a friend. We shared the Queso Fundido with refried black beans and vegan chorizo. He ordered the Chicken taco and Potato taco, and I ordered the Grilled Grouper, Carnitas and Gringo (seasoned ground beef on housemade hard shell) tacos, and everything was delicious. Everything is made fresh from scratch, including the chips and tortillas! Tonight I went back for the Wednesday quesabirria tacos special, which were amazing, among the best I've had! I added a side of rice and black beans, which were also on point with flavors and textures! For dessert, I tried their Chocotaco, which is also made from scratch, including the vanilla ice cream! For those who miss the old frozen Choco Taco, this one will help you forget that version. It's insanely good! Time for you to go to Electric Lime!

Wow! Just wow! Ok more than wow, went here for the first time a few weeks ago and have returned twice since. The fajitas, have tried just about every taco, the shrimp cocktail, guacamole, queso fundido are all phenomenal! If you love margaritas get a marg. If you love palomas... get a pitcher! The pina colada is a perfect dessert cocktail. Servers are also friendly and efficient. They are very accommodating to allergens, and make their best effort. Music and vibes are spot on. Be sure to check out the fresco painting in the back if you get a chance.

This is a cute little taqueria. The employee uniforms and decorations are fun and chic, and the servers and bartender were all very nice. We came for Taco Tuesday, and all of their tacos were available for their special. I got the grouper and the grilled steak...honestly, neither of them were very good. A little surprising and disappointing for a taco place. What was good? Our chips and guacamole, the cocktails (I got the "electric lime" because I love butterfly pea-infused anything for its fun purple color), and the rice & beans were surprisingly generous and flavorful (seasoned well - not your normal plain Jane beans.) I would maybe come back and try something different.

After being closed for two years to relocate, Electric Lime has reopened and is better than ever. Although this was my first time here, it won't be the last. They get it right here, from the food, drinks, decor, and atmosphere. And it's women-owned! I dined with a friend and we both raved about how good it was. We each got three tacos. I ordered the shrimp, steak, and carnitas. I'm still deciding what's my favorite between the three. I would eat 50 in a sitting if I could. I also got a piña colada to wash it all down. To end the night, we split some churros, which were fabulous.

Love this place- great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. The corn shells are homemade and delicious. The guac and homemade chips were fresh and flavorful. I am picky about guac and I would come back here for the guac. If you don't like spicy and order the pollo taco, ask for the sauce on the side. It has a kick. Our steak tacos were also spicy, but our server seemed surprised and said that's usually not the case. They have a big selection of craft tequilas if that's your thing. Delicious hand crafted margaritas. If you are gluten free almost everything is gf except for the burritos, quesadillas and desserts. Iwill definitely come back here again when in Milwaukee.

For our entrees, I got the taco truck dinner with pork pivil as my meat of choice. The meat was juicy, tender and had lots of flavor! The pinto beans had a nice smoky flavor. My boyfriend got the queso chimichanga. It didn't come with rice and beans, as they are inside the chimichanga. We both agreed, the queso was a nice addition to the chimichanga. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

I loved the variety of the menu, especially the vegetarian options, which are hard to come by in a lot of Mexican restaurants. In the past few years since I've moved back to Milwaukee, I've eaten at this location several times. It's about 6 blocks from my house and I still find veggie Mexican options to be rarer than I'd like. Generally the food is good, if no longer great. I wonder if their expansion and success has spread them thin over the years. Sometimes the service is good, sometimes it's like an afterthought. I've also ordered delivery from them many times and it's been generally fine, but not often great. Tonight I ordered delivery, paid extra for expedited service, and I really just wanted some good cheese and onion enchiladas. The delivery time was quick. Despite that, my food was cold. My black beans - literally cold. The cheese enchiladas - um, the cheese on top wasn't even melted. The rice had no flavor at all, like it could have literally been plain white, tepid rice. So I don't know what is going on at Cafe Corazon, but it's just not good anymore and that makes me really sad.

We'd been coming to Central Waters for a while, when one night we found ourselves hungry. Since Troublemakers Cocina was open, we gave it a try. We've been hooked ever since! Plus you can have a scrumptious beer from Central Waters while you wait for your beeper to go off. And the setting is in an old gorgeous church converted into a brewery/event space. You can't beat that ambiance! Prices are reasonable, the space is clean, and there is plenty of seating for groups of all sizes. And there are screens for watching games. This place is an all-around winner! Hungry and thirsty, make your way to Troublemakers Cocina today!

Get here early - parking sucks, and suburbanites will freak out at the hood, but no worries Jesus is right next door at St. Josaphats basilica and will watch over you. And don't forget to take a tour of one of this country's most beautiful cathedrals. Right there by Don Luchos. You can eat here. Lots of long communal tables so don't be shy. Prices aren't cheap but this is quality. I usually get a pound or so of carnitas. They measure it out, it's steaming, and ask if you want it chopped. I say yes. It's wrapped up tightly and it will feed you all weekend. This meat is freaking amazing!!!! I pray they haven't run out of homemade tortillas, but like I said, you gotta come EARLY. Sigh. There's about 6 different amazing salsas to try. Smoky, fresh, green, red, hot sweet - I get two for the weekend. I consider a quart of menudo. I think about. Lamb, goat, barbacoa, chorizo - but I have enough. Too hungry to wait to go home, I sit down to eat. Two tacos - huge! The best was the barbacoa - tasty little carmelized deeply flavored meat bits. Hey - don't go expecting American extras like sour cream or cheese. This is the real thing. Warming: one taco will do you. Got a side of rice and beans - yum. Don Lucho is a treasure. It is authentic, mom and pop, and these are the businesses I love to support.
