Lots of places claim to be "authentic." Well, for Mexican, this is it. The real deal. Don't be afraid of the gentleman swinging a cleaver right when you walk in the front door. He's cutting up a pig, but your pork is guaranteed to be fresh. I heard they go through 20 in a weekend.
Don't speak Spanish? Prepare to point at the menu (which is a sign on the wall). If you're lucky one of the bilingual youngsters will be there to help with your order. This is the real deal, folks. The tastiest, freshest pork in Milwaukee. Try the carnitas, wash it down with a Tecate or Modelo taken from the 50's-era soda cooler.
The locals gather here to talk and eat. You may end up sitting at a table with total strangers, but that's what this experience is all about. If you want a margarita, rice, and beans... move along. I've never seen any of those served here.
