Chocolatera
Maria A.

Celebrated a family member's birthday at Carnicero in Kendall today. Since they don't accept reservations, we ended up waiting at least 30 minutes because our full party wasn't onsite yet. Once inside, it was a pleasant and delicious experience. Great service. Great food. We started our meal with appetizers such as ceviche bites, truffle fries, las croquetas(stole the show). The complimentary bread and butter was warm and delicious. My entree as the churrasco (medium), moros and maduros. I still had room for dessert so I ordered the chocolatera, a chocolate mousse on top and vanilla icecream at the bottom. This is definitely a must dine at restaurant.

Came here on a Friday night and had a solid experience overall. We arrived around 5:45 and waited about 35 minutes. There were several parties waiting and more continued to arrive, so I'd recommend planning to get there early. The restaurant has a modern farmhouse vibe that feels warm and comfortable without being overly trendy. Food was very good overall. The steaks were cooked well, and the churrascos came with chimichurri and salt on the side. The sides paired nicely with everything we ordered, and a huge shoutout for being one of the few restaurants that serve tostones crispy. The lobster had good flavor but was a bit dry, and melted butter on the side would have really helped. Service was a highlight. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, plates were cleared quickly as we ate, and utensils were replaced after appetizers and before the main courses. Prices felt reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, we had a good experience and would return.

This place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is moody and it was not too packed when I went. Our server Mario was absolutely amazing he made the experience so much better, very friendly and charismatic. For drinks I got the Put-in cocktail which was deliciously sweet and refreshing with a side of popping boba, there's not a lot of wine options by the glass but the one we picked was fantastic. To start I had the wagyu tar tar which is prepared table side with jamón ibérico on top, the ceviche bites , and the croquetas which was all very delicious. For main dish I got the churrasco cooked as recommend (medium) and I also tried the Denver Wagyu , both came with a side of chimichurri and both were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. For sides I had the maduros, arroz Moro , yuca fries , and the potatoes asada which were all fantastic. For dessert they had a turrón dessert which was like nothing I've ever tried before. Overall I thought it was a great spot and very reasonably priced.

I came here for my son's bday and the food was absolutely delicious and awesome service as well. The ambiance is nice and clean. I really love the esthetics of the place. Very fancy looking. I recommend for dated and celebrations with loved ones. I got the platter that had steak, chicken, pork and sausages. All was very delicious including the drink.

Service is exceptional and not overwhelming. Loved the decor and background music was nice. Let's get to the most important the food. Presentation A+ taste A+. My only minor disappointment was the Caesar salad. They need to chop the lettuce. Highly recommend. Dessert was also delicious.

Came here with the family and we all loved it. The ranchero decor was nice inside. I came here for the lamb chops and they were delicious. The roasted chicken also very good too. The server was very attentive and walk us thru since this was our first time. Will definitely come back for more lamb chops.

Carnicero was better then we expected. The service was great. Decor was amazing. Fun atmosphere and plenty of room for large groups to celebrate a birthday. If it's your first time I highly recommend "las croquettes" to start. They're delicious and fried to perfection. Also a great choice for you and the date is the "Carnicero board" it has a wide variety of items from the menu and it is delicious. The prices are also very fare. We didn't make a reservation but the wait time was short. However I recommend you make one. Great restaurant, really enjoyed everything. Decor is very nice.

Outstanding steak house. We started with two delicious drinks, one was made with mezcal and jalapeño and the other was tequila and fresh pineapple juice. Both were so refreshing and delicious. We ordered a couple of appetizers; the Spanish style garbanzos were my favorite and then we shared the Wagyu Steak and their grilled salad, both were to die for. The quality of the food in this restaurant is outstanding. The flavors and the attention to detail shows on the very first bite. This food is made with passion. I was extremely impressed with this restaurant. The vibe felt expensive and elegant but the prices were actually decent. We didn't even spend two hundred dollars and we even had cafecito at the end, which was delicious. I will definitely go back again and again to Carnicero.

I wanted to give this place a try since a few friends had come and I had mixed reviews from them. The restaurant is super welcoming and has a great vibe. The bar is comfortable enough for eating if it no tables are available... which is common. The restaurant is usually full. When we arrived, without a reservation, they said about 30 minutes to get seated, and it was just about right. We got a few drinks at the bar and appetizers to calm the hunger. The wagyu carpaccio is very good as it was the ceviche. I personally think the ceviche can use some spiciness to make it better. Once seated, our server Lili was super attentive and very friendly. She was always available, and everything came out of the kitchen in a timely manner. I would say that the steak needed seasoning and the sides like the Moros were a bit gummy. The carnicero board is plentiful and good for 2 people, maybe 3, depending on tank capacity. The best thing was actually the chicken. It was moist and seasoned perfectly. Everything else... just okay. The branzino (fish of the day) was grilled nicely, and it is a good choice for the ones that do not like meat. Overall... it wasn't a bad dinner, but not WOW experience either. It is more like a 3.5 stars than a straight 4.

O M G! what an amazing steakhouse place. Every time we pass by this location, no matter the time, it's always so packed. Lia was our server and she was so sweet, so quick, so efficient, and amazing at explaining everything on the menu. She truly performed a whole presentation for us. The music was very loud so it was very hard to hear family across the table but atleast it was good music. They sang happy birthday so many times and so loud it was a little disturbing but overall the food was delicious and the carniceros board and the croquetas are an absolute MUST!

While visiting Miami, we decided to stop in, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The appetizers were flavorful, and our drinks were expertly crafted. We only waited about eight minutes for a table, so we must have arrived at just the right time. Even though the self standing restaurant is tucked into a strip mall, parking was easy, and once inside, the atmosphere felt very upscale. The servers were not only friendly but also extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They described the dishes in detail and offered excellent recommendations. The energy in the restaurant was great. Several nearby tables were celebrating special occasions, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I'm already looking forward to coming back with my daughter after telling her all about it!

What a local gem in Kendall with great food options! Went on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm and by 7:30pm the place was packed! They have a great wine selection as well as full bar with seating. Our waitress gave us a few options and we pretty much ordered almost one of everything. looking forward to going back and trying some dessert. See below for food picture options.

Champagne…read morewas served as soon as we were seated, and we were also treated to a complimentary baba ghanoush, which was excellent. We started with the bone marrow appetizer, and it was truly outstanding -- incredibly balanced, rich without being overwhelming, and so good we couldn't stop talking about it. We ordered the steak and eggs. The crunchy brioche, earthy mushroom purée, and beautifully sliced steak came together perfectly, and the saltiness of the caviar tied everything together in a really thoughtful way. The picanha was another standout! incredibly tender and full of flavor. We paired it with the broccolini and wagyu fat potatoes, both of which were absolutely delicious. To finish, we shared the ube cheesecake empanada. We were a bit hesitant at first, but it turned out to be the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. The cocktails throughout the night were also excellent. We enjoyed the restaurant so much that we brought friends back later the same week. That visit was just as impressive -- we ordered the tomahawk steak, garden salad, bone marrow (again!), steak and eggs, truffle fries, broccolini, carrots, and tried all of the desserts. Once again, everything was delicious across the board. The only area for improvement would be the service. Everyone was kind and attentive, but at times too quick to clear plates and not proactive enough with the next course. At a restaurant of this caliber, I'd expect the dessert menu to be offered immediately after plates are cleared, rather than needing to track down a server. Overall, the food is exceptional, and we'll absolutely be back.

Overall, we felt that all the food…read morewas good- definitely had areas of improvement, What bridged the rating gap of the experience was the above and beyond service of the general manager Javier, our waiter and the bartenders. We chose the tasting menu at the counter. The execution of the initial dishes in the tastings were well seasoned. But quickly it was clear that given the restaurant was becoming busy and the food service and the drink pairings were not in sync. Part of a tasting experience is being wowed and enjoying the progression of dishes as you would a performance. Javier and our waiter in particular made sure by the end to ensure our experience was smoothed out. One note about the tasting experience is it lacked a certain level of finesse. While the service team did explain the dishes beautifully, it would have been nice for the chef to come out and explain even one of the dishes, especially with a restaurant that has the potential to share a rich background in history about the dishes and flavors. I found that to be particularly surprising that was not the case. In all of the tastings we have participated in (NY, Paris, Miami, Barcelona, Rome, Shanghai...) the chef has always come by even if for a second and it's in those moments that you really get a sense of the passion and the experience of a tasting. After all the origin story is the thread that would have pulled the elements together. It would have elevated this from an average to a more memorable experience. Overall, the food was solid, but regrettably not memorable. There are certainly elements that can benefit from workshopping (timing, chef engagement, consistent execution of dishes) however would be remiss if I didn't shout out Javier and our waiter for their receptiveness and making a positive end to the evening.

One of my favorite parts of the meal was also watching them cook the steak for us right at our table. Just tell them what kind of cook you want on your steak, and they will take care of the rest. As far as the approachability of this restaurant, I found it very welcoming and a really great hospitality team. The wedge salad followed, crisp and refreshing with just the right balance of richness and acidity. For the mains, the experience really elevated. I had the tomahawk steak, and it was outstanding--perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and easily one of the better steaks I've had in Miami. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, and this dish deserves special mention: it wasn't just ravioli with a hint of lobster--it actually featured generous, large pieces of lobster, which made it feel both indulgent and well worth ordering. Food-wise, everything we ordered was good but some dishes felt overpriced for what they were. The beef carpaccio,l was overwhelmed by oil which dulled the delicacy of the meat. The wedge salad was similarly heavy-handed: fully tossed and drenched in dressing losing the crisp that makes a wedge shine. Upon being seated, we were provided with the regular menu and the Miami Spice Lunch menu. The Miami Spice Lunch, which has now become a daily Executive Lunch special, is a standout value. The portion sizes and the quality of the Argentinian steaks speak for themselves. As a group, here's what we ordered: Starters - Ham and Cheese Empanadas - Morcilla - Grilled Provolone Each starter delivered exactly what you'd expect from an Argentinian steakhouse. The empanadas were warm and flaky, the morcilla was rich and well seasoned, and the grilled provolone came out bubbling and perfect for sharing amongst our table with the restaurant's complementary bread basket. Entrée: - New York Strip Steak, 12 oz This was the only cut of steak we ordered. It was cooked to each of our desired temperatures and seasoned simply, letting the quality of the beef speak for itself. It is clear why La Cabrera has a reputation as one of Latin America's best restaurants. Sauces on the side, which included a BBQ sauce, and a chimichurri, were left for our choosing and were used for the side dishes more than anything. Sides: - French Fries - Jasmine Rice Both sides complemented the steak well. The fries were crispy and large in size. My father-in-law, a cuban man who's very serious about his rice dishes, thought the jasmine rice was very good. This lunch reinforced why La Cabrera continues to be stand out in a crowded field of steakhouses. Between the consistency, generous portions, and the value of their daily menu specials, it's an easy recommendation whether you're bringing family, hosting someone from out of town, or simply looking for a great lunch in Coconut Grove.
