I called McKnight Auto and they told me they were "first come, first served", but were already full that particular day. I went in early the next day and opted to drop my car off vs waiting since I had a ride and there were a few customers ahead of me. After receiving their call that my car was ready and passed all inspections, I went in to pick it up. They charged me exactly what was quoted on the phone the day before and we had a nice chat. Friendly staff and seem to run an honest and ethical business. My husband took his car there as well after the good experience I had. He was impressed as well. I have not had a bad experience there yet over the many years of service to my vehicles. They always answer their phone or call you back when you leave a message. Communication is excellent. Rick also has very reasonable repair and labor pricing. The only downside is that his parking lot is very small and it's often difficult to fit your car in there for an appointment. Call ahead and make an appointment before stopping by as it seems like his "walk-in" business might be very limited.

Unfortunately for me, 3 months later I find out my brakes & rotors were within legal limits & should've passed during a routine oil change/ tire rotation. This business does not conduct themselves professionally or legally & doesn't take accountability when need be.

The first day it was an hour of diagnostic worn that I ok'd at $129 an hour rate. Then they said on day 2, it's another another 1/2 hour to an hour to do a compression test. I approve that. I get there today and the $#%€£¥# shop owner charges $330.00 and says to fix the AC it would be and additional $960.00 to $1000.00. 2010 v50 Volvo station wagon. I would say that I was ripped off. Would you agree? I said, "couldn't you subtract the diagnostic from the cost to replace it. He said "No" Not even a budge. And then he proceeded to tell me I'm crazy. The shop? Paul and Johns Motor Service on Library Road in Overbrook or Castle Shannon. Consider yourself warned. In these times, when people are struggling to pay utilities, house repairs...his actions were uncalled for.
