Solid diner experience. Some pluses some minuses. First time here. Entry is extremely nondescript but very friendly welcome and service once inside. Came for brunch / late breakfast. Reasonable prices but substitutions do cost extra even though it seems you had options. Denver omelet was good. Adding salsa, extra. Two pancakes are standard but when asked if I wanted something different - toast, English muffin, biscuit and gravy - figured it wouldn't entail an up charge. Chose a biscuit no gravy. Biscuit (one smallish) was outstanding but an extra charge which seems odd because the price as a side is less than the cost of one pancake as a side, much less two pancakes. Oh well. No big deal. Also ordered a side of grits. Not impressed. Very runny. Wife had a Belgium waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream. It smelled great and sweet but she said strawberries were cold and mushy like they had been frozen. She left three on her plate but did like the actual waffle. All in all a mixed bag but the friendly service and reasonable prices saved the day.

Came here on a whim and were so pleasantly surprised. You seat yourself and a server comes to you. All of the servers were very kind and chatty, and the food came to us fast and was hot. The food we got also came in large portions for a good price. They were out of espresso (so no latte) but the regular coffee was just as good. Then we were totally sold on their fresh fried cherry pie (which came among a large variety of other flavors). It has a nice homey diner vibe and didn't feel sticky or gross. Very clean and put together.

Every 6 weeks I go to Granbury to get my hair done by the best hair stylist in NTX! This time Javiers daughter Ximena went with me & we were hungry so I looked up breakfast/brunch near the salon & this place came up. I have to say I hate giving this place this review because the front of the house of this place is amazing. The wait staff, the bus staff, the guys walking around asking if everything is everything ok ,taste ok, need more coffee, gets you seated. Wow they are amazing. Friendliest service I've seen in a long time. Play with the kids & speak to the guest almost like they are family, but the food. The food. This food was almost inedible. Maybe it's me, but i dont know because Ximena was with me & she was just moving stuff around on her plate too. When I asked do you like it & she said it's not very good. It has no flavor. She ordered the pork chop plate w/mashed potatoes & baked beans & a roll. I tasted her pork chop. It had absolutely no seasoning. Her roll tasted like pure flour. I ordered the patty melt. 1st it didn't look like any patty melt I have ever ordered anywhere ever before. It looked like a sad grilled cheese w/extra onions & a McDonald's patty. That's what it tasted like too. I opted for the onion rings which Whataburger onion rings taste better. I asked for a side of ranch & they must use an off brand ranch, it's not homemade nor hidden valley. It was very thick & flavorless. I did order coffee which is very strong & with 4 creams & a lot of sugar it was perfect. Again I'm sorry to write this about the food because every single person that enters that building the customers, employees, everyone was beyond nice & wanted to make your day better. This was just my experience. My hope is that everyone goes out still & try's this business because your taste buds could be different than mine & you may absolutely love it or maybe their extensive breakfast menu may be way better than the lunch. Who knows, just don't let this review stop you from trying them out. Their kindness deserves a stop.

Very sweet breakfast spot with loads of classic diner dishes! We were seated quickly and well taken care of, even had the manager walking around chatting with customers. The portions were large and we all left with full bellies. The food was a bit overcooked and under seasoned, so pretty typical for these types of restaurants, but we got what we expected, so no one was disappointed! The hand pies were fine, worth a try, but I don't think I would get it again.

I've been coming here for years but with a new manager about a year ago, I feel like I can tell the difference. Coming for breakfast won't be a quit even. This is a busy bustling diner with great hometown atmosphere. The manager is super kind and talks to his employees with a great smile. It's a mix of both old gen and new gen providing great service. The food is good, sometimes may be a wait but whose in hurry on a Sunday morning. The coffee is hot and they walk around making sure you received your service and are happy.

This place was recommended to us. Certainly did not disappoint. Right away I knew it was going to be good because locals where waiting in line. We got seated fairly quickly. The service was absolutely great. The waitress came and checked on us often and brought everything out as was ordered and requested. The staff look like they enjoy their job and greet with a friendly face. The eggs Benedict were really good. My nephew ate his entire cheese/egg omelet and pancakes and he is a picky eater. My parents already enjoyed their plates. We recommended this place to other family which plan to go and we will certainly return when we are visiting again.

Nice little brunch diner. Lots of options. The pancakes were really good. The benedict was pretty solid. The grilled ham was particularly good on the benedict here. The grits were mediocre but okay. They were more watery, but not bad. The sausage links were okay but tasted like jimmy dean sausage links, again not bad but okay. If you want brunch, you can get a lot of choices here, but not the best overall.

It's pretty clear. But just know it's three small pancakes.

We love Cari's. We go every Saturday and we know all the staff by name. When a table leaves, it's cleaned up quickly and made ready for the next people in line. The staff is attentive and coffee cup is always filled. The owner, Marvin, is willing to pitch in and makes sure everyone is satisfied. read more

We were in town for a vacation and stopped by for breakfast twice. The food was very yummy and a great hometown atmosphere. The second time we visited we met the owner this is truly a great place for some great breakfast or lunch, I highly recommend the Denver omelette! read more

I couldn't wait to take my companion here for breakfast! Great food, excellent service and fun family atmosphere. We started with coffee and a huge cinnamon roll. After nibbling outside our diet zone, he ordered a big breakfast with everything while I had eggs benedict. He liked the place, people and food, big win! read more

Second time we've eaten here the 1st time was breakfast before Covid and this time lunch takeout! Just slipped our mind they serve lunch bc we always think of them for breakfast.The CFS sandwich was the best I've had way better than DQ and the onion rings are also fantastic, so so so delicious! Hubby really liked the Sourdough Bacon Burger with cheese! I was so happy they offer the CFS sandwich bc it's rare to find places around here that does. You gotta eat here if you haven't already! There's a reason they've endured the test of time! We rarely eat breakfast out so now we'll definitely be back for their lunches! read more

Came here with friend we were visiting in Glen Rose. Place was packed, which is always a good sign. I had the Ultimate omelet with coffee and friend had the breakfast special. Food was wonderful, service was great and the entire staff is very friendly and checked back with us frequently. Plus they are a good Christian restaurant so everyone in there was super nice. Loved this place. Will definitely visit it again when we return. read more

Had breakfast here and it was great. Friendly staff and a lot of options from classic eggs and bacon to loaded French toast dishes! I had one of the omelets and a pancake, very good and filling. We went during a Saturday brunch time and it was packed, but the servers and staff were doing their best to accommodate all of their customers. I will definitely eat there again. Just remember that it's not your waiters fault if you go into a packed restaurant while starving and expect food to appear before your very eyes. read more

My son and I tried Cari's for the first time. The parking lot is always packed when we drive by, so I knew it had to be good! It was very busy, but it did not stop Cari's from having great food, fast friendly service from the moment we walked in to the second we left, and everything was clean. Dropped by for late breakfast after church. Crowded so we got seated at a dirty table. Yuck. I didn't want to sit and stare at left overs and dirty dishes. Took awhile before someone acknowledged us took even longer to get the table cleared and cleaned. The young lady who cleaned it seemed put out by having to clean it after waiting awhile we had to flag a cashier to have someone clear & clean out table. Rushing thru it, the young lady e didnt clean it well enough . After bringing us menus I asked her if she could wipe the table some more for left over food scraps still on the table. She was really irritated by this. If we do it right the first time no need to clean it again. Right? We waited again and another server was finally assigned to us. She was fine, did a good job and got our order right. It was somewhat enjoyable although it was really warm in the restaurant. Last time we visited, it was really warm too as we were set closer to the front windows. They definitely need better a/c system. Great omelet, good pancakes! read more

We eat here fairly regularly and the food is good which is what the 3 stars is for. However, we just tried to go there for breakfast and walked up to a full restaurant with the door locked. Several of us walked up at the same time and they were clearly open so I pulled again. Some man unlocks the door, sticks his head out and hollers "we are not seating tables right now! Our just Chen is overloaded and we are not seating right now" then slammed the door in my face and locked it. It's cool they're busy but a sign on the door would have been nice or he could have been less hostile in his delivery. Plus, I'm pretty sure they're breaking all kinds of fire codes by locking the front door during business hours with customers inside but what do I know? We just headed down the street to Firehouse and had a great breakfast there. They were also very busy btw. read more

We went here for breakfast a few days ago as we were passing through Granbury. With six of us we tried a little of everything. I personally had the short stack of buttermilk pancakes, they were super fluffy but to me totally passed as a pre-packaged pancake mix, but I could be completely wrong. The other members of my party ordered from banana nut pancakes to the fruit topped waffles which by the way were absolutely NOT Belgian like described on the menu. Service was friendly but there was a super impolite lady that went to every table in the diner and kept asking if anyone wanted to split a cinna-bun. Caris has curbside (still need to go in to get it and pay) amazing Cinnabon's that they package in carry outs. The restaurant looked to be 25-50 capacity with tables separating. The staff are wearing gloves and have sanitizer and using frequently. No masks. I was the only mask. Please support Cari's. Side note: there is a man standing at the front of the restaurant inside with arms crossed not so happy giving me the stare down. Have NO IDEA what that is about but just giving the mask wearers a warning to be prepared. Please support Cari's and small businesses read more

We walked in and the place was busy. But we were greeted and told the next table was ours. They got a table cleaned fast and took care of us. A man walking around ( I assume was the owner) checking on everyone. He made sure tables were cleared and ready for the next person. The food was good coffee was good. People were friendly. Will for sure go back when I am back in town. read more

One stop in Granbury for my dad to look at an old car for sale led my mom to The Pan Handle to shop while he fantasized about purchasing the vehicle. I think by the time my mom left The Pan Handle, she was fantasizing about moving to Granbury. She called me immediately after shopping there to tell me what a great experience she'd had and returned home with a gift for me - a cutting board by the same brand of one I got her last year that she'd broken. While shopping, she told the story of the cutting board's demise to Sara in the store and Sara kindly offered to contact her rep for the brand. He knew nothing about the specific design (a map of the U.K.) but said he'd try to find it in warehouses across the U.S. He did and almost exactly a month later, that cutting board arrived at my mom's door, packaged securely by the Pan Handle with a note signed by Sara. Even I, at 29 years old, know customer service like this is hard to come by and that's why I'm giving 5-stars. Sara knew my mom wasn't from the area and quite possibly might never return to the store, but she did everything she could to make sure my mom had a pleasant experience. Because of this, I think The Pan Handle might have to be a stop on any trips we take "up north" in the future.

We did think it was a tad pricey for the amount of food you received - so don't be caught out on that one! They also only have cold & iced drinks, but nothing frozen. A granita or frozen coffee drink would have been perfect with my bagel dog!

My first visit to this location was yesterday, a Wednesday. Two of the people there were the bartender/owner Jacoby, and Mary who was in charge of the selections. Their beer offering was not a printed list, but a list displayed on three big screen TVs. There were 40 taps and only ONE "stable", the Guinness. A few non-Texas beers, but mostly they were Texas crafts. I actually liked that because that was their goal/model. I was able to sample 7 beers I have never tried before. Considering my purchased record at my home store is 707. That being said, if you're looking for a "stable", go next door to The Filling Station. BUT, if you're willing and want to expand your pallette, and you're in town for whatever reason, this is THE place for that. All of their pints are $7-8, a very reasonable price. Came tonight because it was "pint night" featuring Cowtown Beers, four of them. Fired off a flight, enjoyed them all. $10 for all four. Oh yeah, the best part, at least for now, they have the Chimay Cinq Cents on tap for $9.50.

They mainly have pizza but when I searched online it said they had all these different kind of bowls (Greek chicken bowl, Cuban bowl, etc.) Well they only have one on the menu. And the rest is pub bar food. Also it was advertised it was a bar and restaurant, not a bar that happens to serve food. Our experience wasn't terrible, the staff was very nice, we were just expecting more of a restaurant experience, vs ordering at the bar and waiting for food. Overall the food was decent. Just came out kinda slow and out of order. Probably won't be back here in the near future with kids, but if you're looking for a bar with friendly staff, this is that. The bathrooms are really clean too, so that's a plus.

Best breakfast place in town by far. Clean - pretty sure you could do surgery in the kitchen. Not that you should, because, well, food. But stellar. Staff - Granbury on the whole is a pretty friendly place. Cari's takes it to another level. Food - Great, the best breakfast in town. Get the pumpkin pancakes. This place has went so far downhill since Cari sold it!! You can tell they buy the cheapest food available and I've heard the waitstaff talking about how the owner doesn't give them all of their credit card tips. I have a friend who worked there until she realized that he was adjusting the clock in and out times to avoid paying overtime. read more
