Coffee was excellent, staff was very friendly. Breakfast burrito was mediocre at best.

We visited for a late breakfast and it was very busy. We ordered avocado toast, huevos rancheros,…read moreand the waffle with eggs and bacon. We also decided on several lattes and my youngest daughter wanted one of their fruit smoothies. To be honest the food was just average. I expected the avocado toast to be a smashed avocado on toast and topped with the other ingredients, but sadly it was just an egg on the toast, with 3 or four thin slices of avocado on the top. My oldest daughter ordered the huevos rancheros and asked for no tomatoes, there were so many tomatoes in her eggs that she couldn't even pick them out. It was very disappointing. My youngest daughter liked the smoothie but she said the waffle was kind of hard. One of the lattes we received was okay but the other tasted as if the espresso was burned. Unfortunately we probably will not return.

Nothing is prettier than a coffee shop on a town square. After running through the Moments-In-Time…read moreTrail, I stopped in to get a coffee and see how their coffee is. It's a cute place! It being Sunday of Labor Day weekend meant everyone was in town, and it definitely slowed things down. There wasn't a single open table inside or outside. I wasn't sitting down for service, just grabbing things for the road, but I ordered a muffin and an iced Cinnamon Twist. I think I regret ordering the size as big as I did (their grande was like 24 oz iced) because it was quite milky (my fault), but the cinnamon and vanilla were good. The muffin was the true star of the show. It was huge, dense, and fluffy. A much-needed carb and sugar rush after my humid Granbury run. The place is super cute, and I will totally try to go back for brunch next time I visit. The place can feel a little tight when you're trying to order to-go without getting in the way of the staff, other people ordering, and the people dining in, but the place was practically at capacity when I got there. I also saw the Yelp sticker on their door, and I was like, OMG I YELP. RIYL: A bistro pulled straight out of a Hallmark Original Movie.

My uncle had the Rueben with chips, aunt had the club with chips and my mother had the BLT with chips. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. After we ate 3 of us ordered the peach cobbler with one scoop of vanilla ice cream and the other ordered the black berry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The cobbler was fantastic. The service was good our waitress was very nice and even though they were busy our order came fairly quickly. The Cafe is an old mid to early 1900's repurposed gas station. Once you walk inside the cafe now has book shelves along the walls and register area. You are free to grab a book and read it while you are there. There is also a garden area outside you are free to sit at and eat/read. It being Texas and all you will probably avoid it in the hot months. We ended up here because most of the restaurants were closed. We were there on a Wednesday. I walled into one of the shops and asked were they recommend we grab lunch and was told the Storiebook would be a good choice. I would definitely recommend.

My personal favorite is the club sandwich. Cant leave out that have to top off every meal with cobbler and ice cream, I like the blackberry, wife likes the peach. Have a lot of books and kids play area inside. Very comfortable setting and the employees are always friendly and attentive.

My kid said that they taste a lot like churros. We got the chocolate glaze donuts. I did ask about the details behind how they're made. They're made on one side of the kitchen in a dedicated fryer. The table is dedicated gluten-free. All the utensils are dedicated gluten-free. That said for celiac people it is still all made in the same kitchen, so just be mindful of that. These donuts were incredible. Keep in mind, I got lucky this time but usually you have to call 24 hours in advance to request for gluten-free donuts.

2 stars? Let me tell you why…read more I really wanted to love this place because on paper it checks a lot of boxes. The location is convenient, the store itself is impressively large, and there is a wide variety of options to choose from. Prices are also reasonable, which makes it an easy stop if you are in the area and just want to grab something quickly. Unfortunately, the experience falls apart once you get past the surface. The customer service felt unwelcoming, particularly if you are not a regular or clearly part of the local crowd. The vibe was more cold than hospitable, which is disappointing for a place that clearly sees a lot of foot traffic. As for the food, the donuts are actually pretty decent and show some promise. However, the sausage in the kolaches was a letdown in both flavor and quality and detracted from what could have been a solid offering. The bread used for the biscuits and similar items is also very specific to this shop and while some may enjoy it, it was not to my taste and felt more odd than comforting. Overall, this is a spot with potential but inconsistent execution. Between the unfriendly atmosphere and uneven food quality, it is hard to justify more than two stars despite the good location, size, selection, and pricing.
