Even with a party of 8 we didn't wait more than 10 min. 1 Star Service: As stated, we were sat quickly. We did ask for the ceiling fan above us to be turned off and one of the waiters quipped, "It's not there for y'all, it's for the servers who are sweating." That really put me off to begin the meal, BUT that being said, our waiter was nothing but nice and cordial the whole time. 1 Star Food: The food was fantastic. The portions are HUGE! With the 8 of us, we ordered a variety of dishes including pancake, waffles, an omelette, etc.... My wife and I ordered the 1866, which costs (you guessed it, $18.66) and came with enough food to feed 4 people very comfortably. A giant biscuit with gravy. Two large pancakes, a Belgian waffle, 2 eggs of your choice, 2 big slices of toast (your choice of bread, but I highly recommend the sourdough), hashbrowns, and your choice of sausage patties or bacon. Oh my gosh the food was very delicious! The portions are huge too! We asked our waitress Brandi what was her favorite for breakfast and she suggested the Bonnie & Clyde for really good biscuits and gravy. She was spot on. We also ordered the Blueberry Hill pancakes and they were delicious as well. The blueberries were fresh and large and the composure was very good. If you go make sure you are hungry as we had plenty of leftovers. We have definitely found a new breakfast place and will definitely be back. The 1866 meal comes with A TON of food. Unfortunately, maybe too much to keep track of? We asked for over medium eggs but got scrambled. Asked for ham, got bacon. Asked for sourdough toast, got white. Our server, Lili, was lovely, attentive, very apologetic when she realized we got the wrong items, and asked the kitchen for the correct items right away. A fine place to get breakfast. Our party of 3 was immediately seated in a booth on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am. The server seemed to have too many tables and was pleasant in spite of it. The food portions were large. The pancakes get a thumbs up, the waffle gets mixed reviews. Half of it was fine, the other half was overcooked and so crispy it crumbled if you tried to cut it. I tried GPH on a Sunday morning. Understandably, there was about a 25 minute wait. Once seated, unfortunately there was more waiting for someone to come around to say hello and take our drink order. That was tough without having had my morning coffee yet. Finally, a very friendly server came and we ordered drinks and food right away. Unfortunately the waiting continued. I drank my coffee black (which I never do) because I didn't want to wait for the half and half to come (that I asked for a total of three separate times). It came towards the end of the meal. Yikes. We also waited quite a bit for water refills. The food was good and why this review is 3 stars instead of 2! I ordered the Bonnie and Clyde scramble after reading about how the gravy was delicious. It was an enormous pile of food with biscuits about as wide as my hand. I enjoyed the home fries as well, everything was tasty. I wasn't all that impressed with the bacon, I feel like I could make better at home. It was kid approved, though. I also tried my daughter's Texas waffle and it was really yummy. My husband ordered the Roxy sandwich with sausage and he said it was "fine." The coffee was good too once I was able to make it the way I wanted. I also liked how they used locally sourced ketchup. We've only been there once, as of yet, but the service and food was great. I consider myself a biscuits and gravy connoisseur and theirs are top tier. I thought prices were high, but what really upset me was my pancake was scorched and burned on the bottom. I didn't notice until a few bites in, when I questioned why it was not better? Then I flipped it over and saw why. Yuk. Now if I hadn't personally observed very slow response on other sub-par orders, I would have asked for a new one. We ordered the 1860 breakfast and the entire plate was cold. I was splitting with another person and neither of us could eat this food. Biscuits and gravy: COLD . Not even lukewarm. Missing the bacon. Pancakes lukewarm/ cool. Was grossed out by the cold hash browns. Eggs not warm. So two people did not get to eat Breakfast . Two of us passed on this cold plate of food. Funny part is the waitress DID NOT EVEN ASK why we did not eat that meal. Horrible experience. Nice waitress who could have ask WHY the plate was left and did not. This plate was delivered cold, so it was left on the pass too long or kitchen staff does not know how to cook multiple foods to even deliver a plate of hot/lukewarm food. This morning, Mirta and I tried the new Granbury Pancake House. We read all of the reviews and wanted to come to our own conclusions. Well, it exceeded all of our expectations! The service was outstanding. The employees are young and had fabulous, positive attitudes. They seem to love working there! Kevin, the owner, came out and shared his story and testimony with us. He had us in tears with his story and his faith. I wish everybody heard it. Ask him about how they are supporting the culinary department at the High School. Mirta and I became instant and loyal patrons after this morning! The menu says the French Toast is a "culinary masterpiece" and Mirta agreed! I am a pancake snob. I even bring my own pure maple syrup with me because I can't stand the "fructose syrups" most places serve. I ordered the blueberry pancakes. Typically there are two types of Blueberry pancakes...the ones with blueberries in the batter, and the ones with blueberry compote. Granbury Pancake House has BOTH! PLUS PURE MAPLE SYRUP!!! And the bacon...just look at this pic! Perfectly cooked, crispy but not burnt, smokey, and thick like beef jerky. We both ordered extra servings so we could bring them home with our leftovers. The portions are HUGE! By the time we left, the place was full and people were waiting to be seated.
