I have passed this many times on road trips to a church retreat & was finally able to check it out. Everything looked so tasty! We picked mini cinnamon bun, mini blueberry bun & mini pigs in blanket. Enjoyed all 3 & the mini size was perfect. I love the rustic atmosphere & wish I could have stayed to enjoy an unsweetened peach tea! I love peach tea but most places don't offer sweet & unsweet They have inside & outside seating. There was no wait to be served & the staff were kind & friendly!!! We stopped here on our ride and had some pumpkin cheesecake which was a solid 4.5 out of 5, a few cookies that were decent but definitely not fresh 3 out of 5 and a salted caramel bar which was 4 out of 5 but way too sweet. Overall the pumpkin cheesecake was hands down the best. I would like to try lunch here if we're in the area again. I wouldn't try the cookies again. read more

Very nice place and the people who were working in there were very friendly! I got a pumpkin latte and a breakfast sandwich they were both very good. I also got a chocolate croissant and a cherry croissant and took them to go on my trip. I only wish they were closer to Granbury where I live. read more

They have THE BEST breakfast around! Lunch is also delicious. We go pretty regularly and try all different things from the bakery and have enjoyed EVERYTHING! They have the kindest owner and staff. We never drive by without stopping and will continue to suggest it to all our friends and family. We truly LOVE The Bent Bucket! read more

Very cute restaurant. Breakfast was great. We had the breakfast panini & country breakfast. Both were great. The flavored water (free) was a great surprise. We finished with a cinnamon roll and a blueberry roll. Cinnamon was very good; blueberry was ok. Needed more blueberry and less cinnamon. read more

Very clean, well organized and beautifully decorated baker and eatery that sneaks up on you along the west side of Hwy- 281. This is an excellent place to eat and has awesome baked goods. They also have a selection of gluten free baked goods on certain days that are very good. The gluten free brownies are moist and couldn't be any better!! It is a great place to stop, eat and enjoy all the gift shops and high quality, one of a kind pieces of furniture at Natty Flats!! Love this little place. Owner and staff were awesome and the food is killer. Cinnamon roll was one of the best I've had and they are huge! We drive up from Stephenville just to eat here and always stop on the way home from the airport. This bakery is amazing! The food is all incredible and made with quality ingredients. Your driving down Interstate 20 and you've had way too much coffee. Pit stop! Of course you stop at The Maverick Travel Center. But did you know 5 miles south of Maverick is a gold mine? You pull in the parking lot and in front of you is Texas Hill Country Furniture, Natty Flats BBQ, and the Bent Bucket Bakery. You have no idea the goodness that awaits you inside. The outside and inside says cute little country store. The bakery display was already half empty, but there was plenty left to make me happy! I wanted one of everything, but my pretend diet said NO! Two for me and one for Glenda, stop. Two Pecan Pie brownies and one Italian Cream Cake brownie. I know you can see the picture, but it just doesn't tell you how magnificent these were! So, so good. I took small bites so they would last longer. They also serve breakfast and lunch. All the other reviews say the food is very good. If your ever in this neck of the woods, be sure and stop. Imagine coming home to your favorite Aunt's house, you know, the one that makes everything from scratch and hugs your neck as soon as you walk in the door. That is what it's like to go to Bent Bucket. The environment is so warm and welcoming. The refinished barrack originally from WWII era Camp Wolters has been overhauled to feel more like a farm house owned by your favorite relative. This place is not about feeding those in a rush to refuel, it's about stopping, breathing, and taking in God's blessings while enjoying a glass of iced tea or warm cup of pecan infused coffee . Now on to the food. I have dined here three times now and it has become a regular spot that my wife and kids go to weekly. That says quite a bit considering we live almost an hour a way. The breakfast skillet was the best one I have ever had...get it with both bacon and sausage and ask for the eggs to be over medium. Their cookies and pastries are scratch made like Grandma used to make at 5am while the family sleeps away the previous days work. Ask to try the Mesquite Bean Jelly with a fresh biscuit and butter. You will be blown away. If it's not too busy ask Mrs. Deiann to tell you all about the family history that built this hidden gem. You will become a regular too in no time! read more

So glad to see this business doing so well. Stopped in for some breakfast to go and they were packed. But everyone was helpful and all smiles as always. Took home a huge bacon and egg panini that was delish. Got the Bucket Burrito for my hubby and he said it was delicious as well. Forced myself to leave without any of their dreamy pastries as I had just picked up a Mother's Day cake from Central Market. Hey what a great little bakery just around the corner! Man o man the breakfast turnovers are a great little starter for your day! They have the right amount of "stuff" to fill your early morning food craving belly. The pastry's are bountiful that you could find just what you want and take a peek at the cakes! This place was recommended by a friend. I got on their Facebook and saw the have "gluten free Fridays" I stopped in yesterday and got their GF chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies. So yummy! The staff was very friendly and the place was decorated so nicely! I also noticed that they offer GF bread for their sandwiches. I was determined to do another stride when Marcantonio's Bakery was open. That day was a couple of days ago. The other reviews tell it right. This is not your average small town bakery. At first look, it is a donut shop, but then you realize there is more to it. It is a bakery, and a pie shop. We (three) did our best to sample as much as we could. Everything was great. We had donuts, muffins, and sausage rolls. Everything quite delicious. My wife also made the observation that things were not "super sweet", and this is a good thing. I don't know what the source of their donut fillings, but they taste "fresh." I didn't think to ask the source, but it did not seem to be the chemically tasting fillings so common at other places. The proprietor is super friendly. He gave us a bit of the background on Marcantonio's Bakery, and it's a cool story. I'll just give you a snippet. It's been around since 1998! Want to know more? Come by and talk to Frank! If you have a chance. yo need to check this place out, and a couple other cool places in Lipan! Bottom line: Even when I'm done Striding the city (it's only 22 streets), I'll be coming back to Lipan for tasty treats, cheese (from across the street), and flatbread pizza (another place across the street).

It was fine. Just... fine. Drinks? We asked for water and orange juice and got a plastic water bottle and a mini OJ. Low effort, high price. After the meal, the kid vanished like a magician. We waited around to pay, but no adults appeared unless you actively summoned them like some sort of brunch séance. Eventually my husband went to the back to find someone because another poor guy had been standing at the counter for 10+ minutes. An adult helped him, disappeared again, and we finally paid the kid (again -- love supporting youth employment, but maybe not as the only staff on the floor). The total? $25 for a meal that should've been more like $16 plus the cost of two bottled drinks. We didn't leave a tip because... well... that was the tipped price already. There was another group there who clearly knew the drill -- getting their own drinks, grabbing to-go boxes, probably flipping pancakes themselves. Locals, I assume. Look, I'm all for letting kids help in a family business. That's awesome. But maybe also have an adult present and, you know, supervising? Small town charm is one thing. We had donuts, muffins, and sausage rolls. Everything quite delicious. My wife also made the observation that things were not "super sweet", and this is a good thing. I don't know what the source of their donut fillings, but they taste "fresh." I didn't think to ask the source, but it did not seem to be the chemically tasting fillings so common at other places. The proprietor is super friendly. He gave us a bit of the background on Marcantonio's Bakery, and it's a cool story. I'll just give you a snippet. It's been around since 1998! Want to know more?
