I have passed this many times on road trips to a church retreat & was finally able to check it out. Everything looked so tasty! We picked mini cinnamon bun, mini blueberry bun & mini pigs in blanket. Enjoyed all 3 & the mini size was perfect. I love the rustic atmosphere & wish I could have stayed to enjoy an unsweetened peach tea! I love peach tea but most places don't offer sweet & unsweet They have inside & outside seating. There was no wait to be served & the staff were kind & friendly!!! We stopped here on our ride and had some pumpkin cheesecake which was a solid 4.5 out of 5, a few cookies that were decent but definitely not fresh 3 out of 5 and a salted caramel bar which was 4 out of 5 but way too sweet. Overall the pumpkin cheesecake was hands down the best. I would like to try lunch here if we're in the area again. I wouldn't try the cookies again. read more

They have THE BEST breakfast around! Lunch is also delicious. We go pretty regularly and try all different things from the bakery and have enjoyed EVERYTHING! They have the kindest owner and staff. This is an excellent place to eat and has awesome baked goods. They also have a selection of gluten free baked goods on certain days that are very good. Your driving down Interstate 20 and you've had way too much coffee. Pit stop! Of course you stop at The Maverick Travel Center. But did you know 5 miles south of Maverick is a gold mine? You pull in the parking lot and in front of you is Texas Hill Country Furniture, Natty Flats BBQ, and the Bent Bucket Bakery. You have no idea the goodness that awaits you inside. The outside and inside says cute little country store. The bakery display was already half empty, but there was plenty left to make me happy! I wanted one of everything, but my pretend diet said NO! Two for me and one for Glenda, stop. Two Pecan Pie brownies and one Italian Cream Cake brownie. I know you can see the picture, but it just doesn't tell you how magnificent these were! So, so good. Their cookies and pastries are scratch made like Grandma used to make at 5am while the family sleeps away the previous days work. Ask to try the Mesquite Bean Jelly with a fresh biscuit and butter. Took home a huge bacon and egg panini that was delish. Got the Bucket Burrito for my hubby and he said it was delicious as well.
