Dr. John is AWESOME! My first optometrist and will be the last. Definitely goes above and beyond and they truly makes you feel that you are the most important person in the world. I am nearsighted but functional without glasses. However, when he made my eyeglasses, the world has never looked so clear. I absolutely love this place. I've had glasses since I was about 8 years old. I recently moved from California to Arizona. I CANNOT find an optometry as amazing as this one. Dr. Nguyen and his staff truly care about their patients. Went here for years, Dr. Nguyen is a very nice, but when my insurance changed, he said he could not provide me service anymore, when I asked why, he basically said cause the insurance I have now have takes to long to pay, and patients get upset, I advised that I wouldn't get upset I had been going there for years and liked him as my doctor and wanted to remain there, all he could tell was I'm sorry. I will start out by saying my negative experience has nothing to do with Dr. Nguyen, he was great. I received a call yesterday that my glasses were ready for pick up and office hours for the next day were 10 am to 5 pm. I arrived at the office about 10:15 am and was told by the young lady running the front desk in an annoyed tone that she would be right with me, ....... 15 minutes later I was still waiting and there was no other patient in the office. I finally left and upon getting home tried to call the office to set a time to pick up my glasses as my time is valuable too, but the phone just rang with no answer. Caring Eyes is without a doubt as good as it gets! Both my 10 year old son and I come to Caring Eyes and we very much like it. They are super friendly and they remember who you are both in the office and over the phone. I have always gotten glasses that did not go with my face shape, and therefore have always hated wearing them because I felt ugly with them on. While at work I fainted and my head landed on the floor pretty hard. As a result, my frame was slightly bent. I came in Dr. Nguyen's office to see if it can be adjusted. Ok, seriously....Dr. Nguyen is the best! Extremely patient and sweet. I ended up here because he was the only Doctor that would order a specific pair of glasses I wanted from the Lisa Loeb collection. When I went in they were already there. These are consumate medical professionals with a thorough grasp of their field. They have excellent communication skills for all types of patient - from the pediatriac to the geriatriac - they will explain what is happening and why. They discovered that one lens in a set of my glasses was improperly made (or, simply wrongly installed - my former opticians are 1,600 miles away!). That was when I began seeing them on a regular basis. I've been a patient for six years now and am going to see them again today for an annual checkup and a quick fix for a damaged set of eyeglasses. It was my first time going to Caring Eyes for an eye exam and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was in desperate need of some new glasses and needed my right eye checked out due to some abnormal blurring. So I scheduled an appointment for Monday since they were booked for the weekend but they were so kind enough to call me back when a spot opened up on Saturday. I was very pleased by this. Overall Dr. Nguyen diagnosed the issues in my eye which was just a scar and issued me a new prescription. Dr. Nguyen is my Optometrist. He and his staff have always been very helpful for anything I need. Not only can you get the eye care you need, but they have a wonderful selection of glasses as well. I went in a couple of weeks ago to get fitted for contact lenses (mono-vision, where each eye is corrected to a different distance). It took trying a second lens for my left eye, and we got that squared away. His assistant was VERY helpful in demonstrating how to put the lenses on and all of that. I'm still going to need my glasses, but now I have another option for the sake of vanity and just plain practicality, whether I'm wearing contacts or glasses. While I was there, I noticed that there are a lot of cute options for kids, including Hello Kitty glasses. I'd be so on board with this if I were like, 10 years old. Anyway, if you are looking for an optometrist and you don't have a referral in the area, visit Dr. Nguyen! It took me several weeks to find an optometrist. The one I had tried two years ago I would not go back because they were not decent. A 300% profit margin on frames was told to me by a friend who worked in one of these shops. There is no way I know whether the price is a rip-off or not. That is why I hesitated to go to one. Dr. Nguyen was very accommodating in my situation when I needed an appointment as soon as possible. I was visiting from out of town and needed an emergency appointment for a painful eye issue. He was able to get me in later in the same afternoon that I called him, and I felt very at ease as soon as I met him.
