Came here on a Sunday afternoon looking for prom dresses and were attended right away! Although we stated from the beginning we were only looking since we had many other boutiques to go to, we were still attended with priority and given the time we need to try on multiple dresses. Our budget for a dress was $400-500 and many of the starting prices were around $400-800 and the most expensive dress we tried on was about $1000. We were told that they price match with other shops because they all carry the same brands so that was also good to have in mind The staff was so kind and attentive, truly had such a great experience here, would recommend! read more

If I could leave zero starts, I would. They are nice and polite when trying to get you through the door, from there the service goes downhill. Not only did our dresses come two months late, putting us on a time crunch to get them altered, the workers decided great customer service includes laughing on the phone telling me that it's not their fault. Booking to get an alteration appointment, you might as well forget about it because it's near to impossible with only Wednesday evening they claim. But once you finally do get them altered be aware you will need to have it altered yet again. Let's not forget it's not their fault your dress is still too big, it's yours. Get ready to pay a hefty amount for it anyways and then go find someone with experience to actually do it properly. Save yourself the time and go elsewhere! read more

I am normally not a person to leave reviews but if i could leave 0 starts I WOULD! If you want to be insulted and judged and get told certain gowns in this store is too fancy for your venue, go here and work with Karen! Because thats the service you will get. I went with my mom to look at MOB gowns, Nicole our consultant was great, but Karen who decided to bud into our appointment was the rudest, most opinionated, nastiest person. I work in the business, in face i work for one of their competitors, and when making the appointment i told her on the phone and she said "well what are you just coming here to look then buy there?" and i told her no! if we had great service and my mom loved a gown she could buy where she wants! i have and NEVER will make ANY of my MOB/MOG or brides feel how KAREN made my mom (especially) and myself feel! She made comments such as "Oh i would of never pulled that style for her" and then asked where i was getting married then proceeded to say " this gown is not for that venue, thats not fancy, this is a dress for the venetian or park chateau" ARE YOU KIDDING??? Karen then pulled a new gown to show my mom, saying how great it is then said my mom cant try it on because shes scared shell rip it. WHAT! I never ever say that to my customers!! What a way to destroy someones confidence KAREN!! No matter what shape or size you are, you're looking for your perfect gown and whoever will look BEAUTIFUL in it! Regardless of the sample size. As a bride i know what i want my mom in and i know my moms style - as im helping my mom browse through the gowns Karen then says to our wonderful consultant Nicole " just let her go though the gowns shes to opinionated" ummmm maybe i know what were looking for!! its very simple! Everyone knows their style and knows what they want! At this point in the appointment, i kindly asked karen to leave us alone and we only wanted to work with Nicole. Once she stepped away and we grabbed our things to leave Karen tried to make light of the situation by saying " you know us as sales people? i responded with NOPE! I dont know "us" sales people are because i surly do NOT treat my customers like this and thats why i am as good at my job as i am because i dont act like this! so im not sure what "sales people" shes talking about! Weather you like the gown someone is in or not, if they love it TELL THEM THEY LOOK GREAT!! Nobody wants your opinion!! I will not allow my mom or anyone i know to purchase here. Recently got a bridesmaid dress here and loved the experience. There were so many options, they were patient as we tried on a bunch of options. Dresses came in a good timeframe leaving us plenty of time to get alterations and make sure everything was Perfect in time for the wedding. A couple of 7 year old's looking for their Communion Dresses.... painless right? If you choose to try Carina's, than it sure can be! Made an appt for 12pm on a Sunday. The shop owners were expecting us, and led the girls right to the dresses. Honestly, not much to say except... what a great day! The wonderful people who work here know how to keep the party moving, and try ons to a minimum. They had an awesome way of getting the girls to "reel it in" when they felt they had tried on too many, and ended up confusing themselves. (they are 7, trying on fancy dresses..... pretty much amazing, but can start to wear on ya alittle!) GREAT experience, for the kids and adults. The sewing lady however wasn't great at measuring what needed to be taken in and had to alter one of our dresses 3 times. She was really nice about it though. And really patient. read more

I went there to order a flower girl dress and the owner started to write out the bills with alterations and changes that were going to be made to the dress. Shows me a trimming that I did not like. I asked her if she was going to do the neckline and waist with the same trimming and she told me only the waist because she usually don't do the neckline. She just didn't want to do that extra work. So I just pay for the dress and took it somewhere else to have it altered with the trimming I wanted And a lot less than what she was charging. She is just a rip off. read more

I went back and forth not knowing if I should write this review because they are a local business. This is the same reason we gave them our business and purchased bridesmaids dresses for my sisters wedding here. However it was the biggest mistake we ever made. A store in astoria offered to get us the 5 bridesmaid dresses we needed and do the alterations included in the price. However we chose to do it here since it was local. After telling us they couldn't get us the dresses of our choice (even though they carried the brand) they then called with a change of heart. We were all measured and ordered our sizes based on the size chart of the brand. The owner of the store told a few of the bridesmaids that they were overweight and needed a diet! This is unacceptable. When the dresses arrived It turned out they ordered the wrong sizes because the owner doesn't write anything down and is forgetful. She then tried to make up for it by squeezing people into the wrong sizes and charging additional for alterations. Alterations were extremely expensive and she took advantage of charging more for every little thing she could. I must add that she's rude and condescending and doesn't even greet anyone when they walk into the store. My alterations were done horribly wrong. Every bridesmaid was frustrated and upset at the end of it. And on the morning of the wedding one of the lining in the bridesmaids dresses was completely ripped from bust to bottom when she went to put it on. We had to hold it together with safety pins. I like to patronize local businesses. This is first place I took my daughter to look for her prom dress. They are listed as a retailer for a particular designer and they said that they had the dress and when we showed up there was no dress...but something similar from another designer. The selection was more geared toward MOB or GMOB therefore she did not find anything. We were told to come back if we found a dress elsewhere and that they could order it. So when my daughter found the prom dress of her dreams, we went back to Carnia...only to be told that they can't order that dress...but they would try. They took down our phone # and never called back. I don't think I will be going back to this store again. I ordered the dress online and it arrived in 3 days. read more

I went to Carina boutique twice looking for a Mother of the Bride dress for my daughter's wedding. I found the salegirls extremely helpful and nice. They didn't rush or push you into any decisions. I didn't see anything for myself the first visit but found a dress for the grandmother of the bride so I brough my mom back and she in fact liked the dress I saw. At that time, I looked at their clearance rack and found the perfect dress at a great price. Their non-sale dresses include alterations, so mom's was free and since mine was on clearance, I was responsible for the alteration fees. I just brought our dresses in for our alterations and the woman who does it was a doll. My dress didn't need to be hemmed so I had no extra to add on straps (which I wanted) so she had one of the girls go scouting for extra material. Not only did they find material to match my dress to make the straps, they found a shawl that went with it. I'm very happy with their services and lookg forward to shopping there again. read more
