In comes reputable American Cleaners, family owned and operated since 1964. With a slightly small entryway you are serviced by one of two women manning the front. Once you disarm these prickly ladies with niceness, you realize that they are nothing but good natured, efficient people just trying to do their jobs. Upon dropping off your item(s), auto texts are instantly sent acknowledging receipt of your item, payment and anticipated pickup date. Three to four days later, an additional text is sent advising your garment(s) are ready. Easy process. There was nothing dirty about it. You can't replace a zipper without a clean jacket being washed first? Now I have to go home and wash a clean jacket and go back again? Give me a break. Many other places to go. I won't be going back there. Update: I went to the tailor on 33rd and Francis Lewis Blvd....they charged me $35 and didn't need to wash a clean jacket.
