I arrived just four minutes before closing, and a very kind young man agreed to sell me three coffees. However, his coworker - a woman with black hair and bangs - immediately started yelling at him in front of me, scolding him for serving me. She was extremely rude and arrogant. As I was leaving the store, she aggressively slammed the gate shut and it hit my back, which really scared me. I honestly thought I was going to get hurt. I'm not sure if she is the manager, but her behavior was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. It was not only inappropriate to reprimand her coworker in front of a customer, but also very unethical. Her attitude and actions were aggressive and disrespectful. If the franchise owner reads this, I truly hope you take action. This kind of behavior damages your brand and creates a hostile environment for both customers and staff. A few tables along the ledge for a very narrow shop that's been at MOA for many years. First, a digression. A few years before my Yelp career I was sitting and sipping as three men in expensive suits came over smiling. What? CIA tracked me? Are they going to ask me to join them for drinks in their hotel? Proselytize me? Nah they had name tags with the Caribou symbol introduced themselves as visitors from corporate and they'd like to ask me about my coffee experiences and everything I could tell them about my impression of the new burgeoning coffee bar business. For my ten minutes they gave me a generous coupon. This place moves the lines fast and with no dark roast available (it was only 1100 a.m.) I settled for the medium. There was an employee speaking so loudly, not in anger, just a loud person with a shrill laugh, the barista couldn't even hear me give my rewards number. Now I could sit and watch the people traffic on the quiet third level, a few shoppers, some power walkers but no interviewers. read more

I kicked off my trip to the infamous Mall of America by getting a cup of Caribou Coffee. Specially, I ordered a medium iced caramel high rise. Ughhhh, it was delicious. Can we please get Caribou locations in Nevada? Autumn took my order and was super sweet and patient with me, as it was a bit hard to hear each other through muffled mask speak and dividers. Really nasty unpleasant experience. I placed an order through the app only to get told that they didn't have the sandwich I wanted so I asked for a replacement. After waiting ten minutes I was told they didn't have any of that sandwich either so I requested a refund but was told they couldn't give me one or they'd come up short, so I asked for a manager, I was told I couldn't see a manager and would need to go to corporate in order to get a refund. Even this I was fine with so I asked if they had a number or email I could reach out to, I was told that the manager refused to give out corporate contact information and that I would have to find it on my own. I walked into this establishment and was beyond disgusted by what I experienced. First off the floor was a lubricated mess. The lady in front of me slipped with her baby. What a place. I get my order taken and the barista doesn't even know the drink we ordered and did not know what the reward system was of the place she works at. Talk about unbelievable. Then the barista proceeded to tell me that the drinks I ordered were sold out even after I payed. So, I gave him two alternatives and he comes back a second time to tell me THEY WERE OUT OF THAT FLAVOR TOO. Who am I if not a reasonable person. Caribou has gone from my A list to no better than C over the past few years. I am a mocha guy, and the conversion to how picking what kind of chocolate you want is producing a sub par mocha. Blech. I frequent this location at the MOA as kid #1 usually needs some sort of reward by the time we're at this point of or shopping trip (or it has been the carrot to garner patience). We ordered a Small Cappuccino with an extra shot, and the guy charged us about $8. I told him that it couldn't be that much (pointing at the board above him). He grunted a few unintelligible words and walked away from the cash register. I didn't have the energy to argue with him and left it alone. I walked over to pick up my drink and the guy handed me 2 small cappuccinos as he called it. What I got was absolutely not a cappuccino (see photo) and it was at best an Americano that filled half my cup. Absolutely the worst customer service. This place inside Nickelodeon universe is horrible. First how does a coffee place early in the afternoon not have all of your normal coffee available. Then you refuse to make any. Are usually have a light roast and most of the time I will settle for the medium roast but when they are out of both and only have dark roast at 1 PM that is ridiculous. Then they refused to make any. And I told him well aren't you open for another six hours??? She said we need to get rid of the dark roast. Stood in long line only to be told I couldn't have the medium/dark roast advertised on the board because "they were out." The staff person offered me the light roast, turned to the urn, and turned back to tell me it would be two-three minutes as he had to make it. I waited and got the first pourings as the machine started to make the coffee. I sat down to connect to the internet and found the signal strength wasn't strong enough to connect to my bank website or my email. Came in here for a quick shot of espresso and the Barista was very sweet. They do not offer French vanilla cream but they went out of their way to add vanilla flavoring with a little bit of cream. The Barista was very sweet and made Small Talk which made us feel very welcome. The place is very clean and a very well-maintained area. This seems like a great place to study. read more

This was my first time at Caribou and I didn't know what to order. The barista had recommended the Almond-infused Iced Coffee which was very good and not too sweet. But, I think it's not strong enough and their wasn't any coffee aroma. Usually helpful and efficient but I have encountered several staff members at this caribou that seem to hate their job and hate being at work. I always have to remind them to ask me about my perks and some employees don't use my perks that I have even if I ask then too. It's disappointing and if I had another option closer to where I work, I'd go there instead. This caribou could do better and employ more people who like their job and don't hate customers. Rude cashier, slow service

Depending on which floor you grab your beverage you may get better service. The staff on the first floor are always bubbly, professional and well prepared. Sorry to say the last three times I have visited the third floor, I have been underwhelmed by their service. A long line of customers wait for a single cashier to take orders while two baristas sit along the back counter. The third barista prepares drinks as they come through the cashier. This has been my experience on multiple occasions. As an employee at the mall, I now go out of my way to grab my coffee from one of the two caribou shops on the FIRST FLOOR. They always give me an attitude when I order, despite how polite I am! I stopped at Caribou Coffee on a recent trip to the Minneapolis area. This Caribou Coffee location, is located in the Mall of America. All in all, I thought the coffee was good, it reminded me a lot of Starbucks style coffee, though in some ways at least to me, it tasted different as well. I had an iced vanilla latte, and a raspberry white chocolate scone, both of which were good. My mom, had an iced latte, and an apple fritter, which she said were pretty good as well. I really liked how my latte being vanilla, had a whole vanilla bean in it, I thought this was unique as I had not seen something like that before. I would recommend Caribou Coffee to others, though maybe not the Mall of America location, due to crowds, noise, and such, unless you like things like that. The price is okay, maybe slightly less than a Starbucks, but a little more than what I was expecting, around $14 for everything we ordered, which in the grand scheme of things is not bad, and is what it is. read more
