AMAZING!!!!!! This is the 4th pool we have built - and by far the easiest and most fun. We interviewed 4 other pool companies. When we met with Carolyn (although we "knew exactly what we wanted")- and her creativity helped us "kick it up a notch" without going over our budget. Every stage was executed with complete professionalism. Every person was beyond polite, informative and did a great job. Any question was answered very quickly, and changes were not difficult. The staff is wonderful. They make you feel like you are their only concern. Our supervisor tied it all together keeping us informed as to the progress of each step. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Here we are 6 months later and I call with a question and received the same courtesy and professionalism that we experienced during the build. Unbelievably outstanding. Kevin was the only pool representative that we talked to (we interviewed 6 pool companies) who understood what we wanted and customized everything to our desire. All of the other pool companies tried to sell us what they wanted us to have, not what we wanted to have. Then, the workmanship was as good as it gets. The pool is beautiful, it's exactly what we wanted. The communication was... well it just wasn't. We thought we would move into a house with a finished pool, instead we had a big hole and no when we kept trying to find out why there was no answer. Turns out it was because the pool was in the loan, cool, make sure I understand that up front. The workers did not clean up after themselves. They refused to let me know when they would be there so I could ensure my LARGE dog was not going to 1) get out or 2) bite anyone. When the trenched the water line they simply stuck the line through the fence, the superintendent had to come out and review it, but that didn't solve anything. My husband had to chisel out the wall footer so that the line would be below ground. They kept badgering us for payment on that water line, even when the work wasn't complete. The pebbletech is has coloring issues and while the guy said he would let the office know, I know that he won't and that the white spots will never be resolved. Overall it was frustrating and took what seemed like forever. I'm glad I'll never have to do that again. I would not recommend them. read more

***REVISED REVIEW*** I really wish I could give them more than two stars, but the stress and problems we encountered with this company earns them a two. The pool itself is beautiful, but service is incredibly important to me, and that's where they missed the mark. I see so many excellent reviews about other peoples supervisor and I have to wonder who they had assigned because ours was terrible. He always told us something was fixed, but it wasn't. There was absolutely no communication throughout the entire process. In the end, they had to send out the owners son to fix the problem, and he was excellent. Just to give you an idea of some of the problems we faced: - NO HOA request - this was their responsibility as it was part of the build of our house and we did not own it during the pre-dig. - Pool dug not following dimensions - they dug an extra foot wide which was against our HOA requirements. - Our yard was flooded after rain because they did not restore the grading after trenches were dug. - They flooded our yard during pool fill as they left it running while we were out of town, and we told them we were out of town. - Continually asking us to sign off on the pool when the process was not complete. We still needed many items fixed. - The automatic water leveler was continuously leaking and our supervisor didn't seem to believe us. It took them 4 trips to our house to get it right. I really feel like they saw my husband and I as a young, stupid couple, who wouldn't call them out on crappy work and service. To help make things right, they did give us three months of a pool cleaning service, which was a nice gesture. They build a beautiful pool, but I guess we were unlucky with our project team who totally dropped the ball. So just be careful if you choose to go with them. read more

They want to know exactly how you're going to pay but also don't even know how to do the basic math of a pool build? The process has been chaos at best. Job took 6 months to complete and while waiting I found so many people that experienced the same poor performance from this company. We worked with Carolyn as our designer, gave her a list of things that we wanted to have in our pool, and she worked her magic! Came up with a great design layout that fit the needs of our three growing boys! Everyone was so great to work with through the entire process, kept us in the loop through email on the next steps, called to check in sporadically to make sure we didn't have any questions, it was a really great experience. - The pool took weeks longer to complete that we were told. - We seldom knew when anyone was coming out, we normally had to call and say "hey no one here again"....., which was usually followed by a response of "someone will be out tomorrow or the next day, or the end of the week, etc.. That in itself caused our dog to be locked up for days for no reason. -Our pool was not built as designed. If the foreman ever showed up, the design problem could have been addressed. The lack of supervision has caused us to have a pool we paid thousands for to be unsatisfactory. Our pool was just finished today and we couldn't be happier with it and with Caribbean Pools! When we began the process, we met with 6 different pool contractors. We felt the most comfortable with the folks at Caribbean and they didn't nickle and dime every little thing, which was greatly appreciated. The entire process from signing the contract to finished pool was only about 2 months! For the first 3/4 of the pool construction, communication was excellent. I received e-mails outlining what would be happening that week/day, etc. Communication was a bit shaky toward the last 1/4 but some of that may have been my fault too. None of this would stop me from highly recommending this company! The people at Caribbean were great to work with- especially Brian and Kevin- and their contractors were excellent too! Our new pool just got finished today. I enjoyed the sales person and the administrator sends me emails regularly about what is to come next. This is the 3rd pool I've build and the first time with Caribbean, so I kinda knew what the expectations were. We have had some hiccups in the beggining with some contractors not showing up timely but after communicating with the office about it, it was all taken care of. Our pool came out exactly how we wanted and we can't ask for more than that. We will definitely work with Caribbean Pools again and we highly recommend them. read more

After years and years of research I finally decided to take the plunge... No pun intended. Caribbean built my pool in July 2013. Had a great experience with the sales, finance, engineers, builders and even the people that show you how to get your pool up and running. We only have one issue during the build of our pool which was we were supposed to get more decking then was roped off before the pour of concrete. We called our sales guy and it was absolutely no problem they came out and reworked the area the next day and it was to our satisfactory. We had pea gravel in our yard prior to the pool which we move it all to one side and a little bit of disappointment after the pool build. Rocks, dirt and debris mixed into our gravel and some excess pipes and copper wire as well. I called and complained because I didn't expect you to landscape my yard but I expected my yard to look like it did before I gave it to you. Overall a great experience and after basically interviewing every pool builder in a 50 mile radius of the valley definitely would go with them again if I ever had to get another pool built. read more

It pains me to write this review about a small, local, business. I'm sure there are nice, decent, honest, and competent people who for work for this company. Unfortunately, I have not dealt with those people. I'll start with the good: the pool as designed is beautiful. Our salesman, Jay, was extremely reachable and knowledgeable about any questions we had. Now the bad: We were promised weekly communication. We received zero updates. We repeatedly requested information about how to comply with the Phoenix pool barrier law and we were given incorrect information. The pool sat for more than a week waiting for inspection and no one contacted us to tell us it was ready for inspection. Our barrier that we were told would cost about $30 to install self-closing door locks instead cost more than $800 as those door locks do not exist. When an inspector finally came out, there was missing documentation that the company failed to provide and we failed the inspection. We financed this pool partially on our own and partially incorporated with our home loan. We were also owed a $250 refund as we overpaid and we had that in writing. They almost issued the refund to our lender. Then, they argued and said that we were owed $90. We were told we would be swimming by April 1st and everything would be finished. It's now May 5th and we still aren't done. I was told everything is done, however during my pool orientation today I was informed it wasn't. Why isn't it done? Because Caribbean Pools forgot to install the $3,000 pool heater we purchased. They even charged us $600 to run gas lines and then did not perform the work. It's clearly present in the contract and they did not draw the heater up on their construction plans. We complained multiple times to everyone we had to deal with in this company. Multiple staff were all aware of the issues I had and no one contacted upper management. I even asked for direct contact information myself twice and they refused. All told, this company charged us nearly $4,000 for work that was not performed and nearly another $1,000 more than anticipated to comply with every city of Phoenix law. This is, by far, the worse experience I have ever had with anything I ever purchased in my life. I cannot caution anyone enough to avoid this company. read more

TOP MARKS FROM A TOUGH REVIEWER: 5 STARS. Caribbean Pools of Arizona are receiving 5 Stars for their ability to perform on budget, on time and exceeding our expectations. Canadians are not usually challenged to build swimming pools. Unless, of course, they are in Arizona. Having owned our home in San Tan Valley for five years and being attached to a community that has a gorgeous aquatic center, we had not planned on adding a pool until we experienced, through family, how much fun and convenient having our own pool would be. Do not be influenced by the "special" prices of any pool builder, as that is just the starting point. As we found out there are so many variables to consider, including the dismantling of our existing landscape to allow the equipment access and to accommodate the new pool. We interviewed and received proposals from six pool builders, all with good reputations. Virtually all the pricing was identical. Some builders recommend Hayward Equipment and the others Pentair but the process of building the pool and the equipment are similar. The unnamed company that we initially intended to hire scared us as their story changed dramatically and without apology at sign up time. There were hiccups with Caribbean Pools, particularly as we were dealing with staff newly hired. We found that any changes after the fact absolutely needs to be accompanied with "change of order" forms. Do not just rely on your emails or texts, make sure it is in writing to your builder, on their forms. Caribbean assigned a coordinator to schedule all our work and a superintendent to manage all construction on site. KATHI JOHNSON, our coordinator, was on top of our pool process all the time. She knew our hopes to have the pool usable by grandkids was a tight fit, yet she made it happen. When we noticed one expected change was not happening, she stopped the progress, got the changes implemented and restarted the construction immediately. Her checklist must be very detailed as it all happened as we hoped. Thank you KATHI. Kevin, our superintendent, was often sitting in our driveway at 5:30 a.m. making notes and checking the progress. One morning I awoke to see him in the newly poured pool, strings stretched in all directions, checking depths, distances, etc all against the pool plan. Our own measurements are "spot on" to what was agreed. Our decision to seriously negotiate with Caribbean was made based on the follow ups from our sales team. We would recommend Powell Parker without question. He listened to our dream, made practical and valued recommendations then presented us with a good plan for our backyard. When a tree that was not supposed to be removed, was whisked away by the excavator, Powell (and Kathi) championed our cause and ensured that the tree was replaced with a very good quality substitute. He accepted the assignment to return our yard to irrigated plants, low voltage lighting reattached and backfill complete. He was on the job the other day at 6:00 a.m., on his hands and knees with the landscapers, working to do what he said would be done. Shout out to Bill Alber, the owner of Caribbean Pools of Arizona, for involving himself in our decision process and giving us his experience and advice on colors and finish. Bill attempted to make us realize that we would be tight to finish as we hoped but, he wasn't counting on his crew because they were determined to make our summer trip with the grandchildren a summer trip where we would enjoy our pool. Most pool companies do not want to get involved in the landscape side of the pool business but customers who are digging up an already finished yard need some reassurance that their yard will be restored. Our recommendations are that; if you are contemplating a pool in your already completed yard, make a plan as to how you will return the yard after construction is complete. I recently purchased a new home in the east valley and decided I wanted to get my lifelong dream of adding a pool for this house. I checked with a few builders and was ready to make a decision, when a friend told me to check with this builder as well and gave me a contact, Brian S. Before I knew it, he was reaching out to me to offer any assistance via email. I met with him and provided him the design I wanted for the pool & deck. He modified it slightly for our meeting to go over cost/figures. He was very upfront on what was required and what was not, which impressed me...not your typical "salesman." The cost was well within reason and range. The entire build process was fairly easy, with their back office folks (Britney W & Kathi J) and the project lead/mgr, Kevin was easy to do business with. I was constantly advised of what to expect and approximately when to expect it. They even coordinated on the day of filling the pool by providing the garden hose, so I didn't have to go out and make a new purchase. The only suggestion I would give them is when a client utilizes their financing partners, coordinate the payment check process one way or the other. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this company based on my experience with their process, customer service and product. Terrible experience working with Caribbean Pools. The communication is terrible and they use all outside contracted workers to do the job. The workers don't care about a time frame because they are paid every week no matter if the job is finished early or finished A month late. Every single person in my community for the most part has gone through Caribbean pools and one has had their pool done on time. There are days and weeks that go by with no one working on the pool and no progress whatsoever. The office tells you one thing but the workers actions reflect another. I will be going out of my way to make sure that no one else in this community goes to Caribbean. read more

I reached out to 8 pool contractors here in the valley and received 5 pool quotes. Four of the quotes were written and one was verbal. Of the four written quotes all pricing the exact same pool design and equipment, I chose Caribbean. They were the best value of the four and were very customer service oriented. They built my pool on budget and on time and made the process pretty easy. There were a couple quality hiccups with their concrete decking sub not measuring exact dimensions before pouring. Brian was our sales rep back in 2012 on our first pool project and is now Co-Owner of this company. Brian has always been the differentiator when it comes to who we trust to build our pool. We have found better prices and been promised the world by others but Brian seemed to always be the best bet and again, it shows in the quality of work and the treatment we received from start to finish. Many companies claim to be a family and tight knit but this company is all that as the team that sold us our first pool is still working there today. Friendly, communicative, thorough, timely (even during Covid) and made us feel valued during very uneasy times. We were able to design our pool including the placement of decorative tiles on the water feature area. We were hoping to be able to use our pool on Thanksgiving as we were having family from Utah coming. Caribbean made that happen! The pool was completed THE DAY BEFORE Thanksgiving and thanks to the Arizona weather it was 90 degrees and we spent Thanksgiving in our new pool!!! The construction went well with a few snags here & there (crooked plumbing & streaks in bottom of pebble tech) but Caribbean Pools had the plumber back asap to fix the pipes and the interior company came back and drained the pool and acid washed it again and the streaks were gone. The only issue that my husband isn't thrilled about is the fact that he wanted tiles on the edge of the steps so that going out and coming into the pool you could see the edge of the steps. He was under the impression that he was paying extra for "reflective type" tiles but they only took the plain blue tiles and cut them and stuck them on the edge of the steps. So if this is a feature you would like make sure you specify it. I myself had heard that the the company was known not to clean up after the pool was completed for weeks. Well we had no issues. The mess and construction garbage was taken care of with no problems. Kathi was wonderful & she addressed all my concerns & was quick to email me or call me back. Kevin also made a few unexpected trips to the site when we had concerns which shows that they do care if there are issues and want to the chance to address them. It's so hard to know who to put your trust into especially when spending that much money on a big investment, and we are hoping that if in the future we do have any issues/questions that Caribbean Pools will be there to help us out. 5 Stars for our Design Consultant, Carolyn Sterrett, and all of the employees in the main office at Caribbean Pools. Carolyn did an awesome job designing a pool to fit our family's needs and budget. Carolyn was our first point of contact with Caribbean Pools and she exceeded our expectations. We signed the contract with Caribbean Pools on 06/26/18. Carolyn said we would be swimming by the first week of September and she was spot on! The last phase, applying the acrylic and paint on the decking, was completed on September 3rd. The communication with everyone at Caribbean Pools was exceptional throughout process. The only reason we are giving an overall 4 Star rating is because of some pretty extensive damage the excavation crew did to our rear open view/block wall. We have a brand new home and about 30 ft of the wall was pushed out and broken from its base during the excavation and excess dirt removal process. The crew did not report the damage to us. I found the damage after the excavation crew left. The crew claimed to have no knowledge of the damage they had done. I guess we will give them the benefit of the doubt on this. The supervisor of our pool installation, Fred, did a great job communicating with the excavation company to make sure the fence/wall was repaired to it's original state at no cost to me. I can't say enough how impressed and grateful I am for choosing Carribean Pool to install my pool. I had heard a few horror stories about other pool builders so I was a little skeptical and guarded at first.  CP's put my concerns to rest from Day 1 and never waivered from their phenomenonal level of customer service and pool construction.  Everyone on the team was amazing.  They allowed me to be engaged as I felt I needed to be and were always professional, responsive, understanding, helpful, informative, patient, kind and dedicated to excellence.  Our sales guy, Jake, worked with us to design and layout the pool of our dreams with no pressure to buy something we didn't want or need. He was also responsive to our aesthetic change requests.  Our super Kevin was equally amazing and gave us the comfort and confidence that our pool would be built to perfection and that we were happy with the process as well as the final outcome.  The office staff championed by Kathi was a integral part of our pool building experience and were always kind, understanding and very helpful. I wish that I could give out more stars! Here's the scoop! We have a beautiful pool in our backyard that we love. Caribbean pools went above and beyond what we expected. We worked with Brian who is absolutely awesome. My daughter bought a home in Arizona that had a pool already installed by Caribbean Pools. We were certainly impressed with it, so naturally they were on our list of businesses that we would contact for an estimate. Brian worked with us and came up with a beautiful design for our newly built home. Despite some glitches along the way Brian ALWAYS made things right. And we are picky picky picky. Brian made sure that we were happy every step of the way going above and beyond. He even put up with an interrogation from our son who is a Master Pool Builder in Virginia. When my son asked me if I would have them build for us again we answered with a resounding "Yes"! I can't wait for my son to see it in a few weeks. (Why, you may ask, didn't we have number one son build it? He only builds gigantic commercial pools and lives in Norfolk, Va.) Bottom line... My daughter just signed a contract for Caribbean to build a pool for her new house. We recently bought a house in Gilbert that has a pool that was built by Caribbean Pools & Spas. The pool is three years and some of the equipment has failed and is no longer working. As a result of the failing equipment, the pool has a black mold problem that we has new home owners now have to deal with. Unfortunately, Caribbean Pools doesn't stand behind their product and when a house is sold the warranty is no longer valid, regardless of the age of the pool. When I reached out and asked for help in some way, even if they could just let me know if the equipment might still be under warranty, I was told their warranty (Caribbean Pools) was now void and that they couldn't help me. When I asked for some consideration based on the age of the pool, I was promised a callback that never happened. Based on the build quality of the pool, the quality of the equipment they use, and the poor customer service, I would recommend considering other builders if you're having a new pool built. read more

After reading some of the reviews I had to double check to make sure I was reviewing the correct company. Obviously my experience with this company was much different than what has been posted on this site and various other review sites. First, this company only believes in getting paid - that is their main priority and not customer satisfaction. In addition, there is no project supervision or quality control on these projects. For example, our initial project Superintendent (our Superintendent was replaced when the project was two weeks from being completed) only visited our pool job site twice in seven weeks. The first time was to check the excavation depths and the second time was to place the City permit on our gate. She never inspected the electrical, mechanical, rebar or concrete. I know this because my house is equipped with cameras all around the front and back of my house where the pool was being constructed. This is only the first issue. The second issue involves the lack of communication between Caribbean and myself. The only time we received any schedule updates would be when they required one of the draw checks for the next phase of the project. We had emailed Britney and Kathi about items and received no response. Several times major aspects of the work was pushed back due to scheduling delays and it was not communicated to me. For example, they would not schedule our pebble tec until they received the last draw payment. Everyone went out of their way to get that final check to Caribbean so it can be scheduled for a particular day. Unfortunately, not only did it not get scheduled for that day but was actually pushed for two days. What upset me about the situation is that we had asked Britney and Kathi if it was going to be scheduled for the next day and they as usual did not respond to any of our questions. Bill Alber, owner of Caribbean, had sent out an email when we first began this process talking about several items including supervision and communication. In this email he states that the Superintendents inspect the different phases of construction - ours did not. He also stated that he hopes Caribbean has communicated along the way - they have not. In addition to the lack of supervision and communication, Caribbean has a low regard for construction quality. For our project we had a wall constructed to hide the pool equipment. The subcontractor did a horrible job. They constructed the wall with limited rebar and mortar so when you brushed against it, it would literally shake. The new assigned Superintendent had them come back to fix it and they still have not fixed it correctly. We were even told that they had the same problem with this subcontractor on other pool projects. My question is why continue to use the same subcontractor if they are going to do sub-par work. Finally, our pool project was delayed because of poor planning and quality on Caribbean. When it was time for our final inspection permit we were required to get the appropriate coded barriers and have them installed prior to inspection, which we did. In fact, we had them installed at least 7 days before the final inspection. However, our pool did not pass inspection, not because of the barriers, but instead because Caribbean did not have their inspection checklist completed. This caused another delay in our pool construction. The final straw that caused me to write this review is the lack respect this company has for their clients. After everything was done, they left my backyard a complete mess with empty water bottles all over my yard and did not even clean off the pool equipment that was covered in dirt. I would hate to see these people's houses if they treat other houses with such disrespect. I have worked in construction for nearly 20 years and if the company I work for treated clients the same way this company does, we would not be in business. I am disappointed since Caribbean was recommended to me by a co-worker I trusted. With that being said I do not recommend Caribbean Pools for any pool, landscape, BBQ, fire pit or any construction job. I would like to thank Carribean Pools for a wonderful experience building our beautiful pool. I would highly recommend them for your pool build. I also highly recommend Jake Howard for your sales person. He is very honest does not try to up sell you and knows what he is doing. He takes his time with you and does not make you feel rushed. I did get two other quotes Dolphin Pools and Presidential Pools. The closest bid was $6,000 above what I paid with Carribean and there were no add on's just a basic pool. With Carribean I added a beautiful waterfall feature and bubblers and the pool also came with 2 LED pool lights with light shows and color changing modes, I believe 17 different settings. Thank you Carribean Pools & Spas for a job well done. I have no complaints with this company. read more

We LOVE our Caribbean Pool! After months of research and talking to multiple pool builders, we decided to go with Caribbean Pools and we could not be happier!! The team was AMAZING! Starting with our sales rep, Kevin, he never pressured us into anything - just simply explained everything and provided the professional advice we needed. During construction, our super, also named Kevin, kept us up to date on every step of the process and we knew what to expect each day. He was very helpful in answering our many questions as well. The workers did an awesome job too - they arrived on time - every time! They also kept the yard spotless during the process - which was a nice treat. Wow! We had an appt for 430 with one of their reps. At 420, day of the appt, we got a call saying they weren't going to make it. I would've understood if you were just running late, but the lack of consideration for my family was no appreciated that we've decided to go with a different company. read more

I just want to give Carolyn S a shout out for great job she did for designing our pool. We had a hiccup when we first started but Carolyn came to the rescue and fixed it. Through out the build there was great communication. Every time they said someone was going to be there they showed up. There no complaints from us. All the trades we good just at the start when they were done digging the hole they left all there trash and garage all around the backyard when there was a garage can right next to the house minor issue. Thank you so much Caribbean for doing a great job on our project. we were very nervous at first but you made it very smooth through the whole process. Thank you so much again. I would use this company again if we had to do it all over again. read more

We purchased our pool in May of 2014 and could not be more pleased! They did everything they said they were going to do, and much more. We have had them out a couple of times for minor items and always satisfied with their service. On one occasion, I contacted Bill after hours on a weekend. He answered all my questions, walked me through what I thought was an underground leak in the plumbing lines. Much to my embarrassment it was a leak in our sprinkler system. He made sure to have his office contact me on Monday to be sure we were taken care of. He could have easily not answered, but that is not his style. If I could give them more stars I would. read more
