My experience was very poor. First of all they didn't even verify my place of employment until I left the dealership in the car I just bought. I spent 2 to 3 days trying to find a way just to verify my employment which should have been done before I left. Already have issues with car due to cheap aftermarket parts. Brakes squealing due to cheap pads that were only pad slapped. All rotors need machining. Already have a broken cv Axle after 2 days of ownership. Tried to get repaired under drive train "warranty" not covered even though axles are part of the "drivetrain". During this whole process, it was extremely difficult to get any sort of response without them redirecting the conversation. headlight is completely flooded with water, when contacting the best I was told was some cheap knock off from EBay for $100. After paying nearly 17k for a ford focus this is absolutely ridiculous! Unless you want corners cut and shitty repairs go somewhere else. Should not have to spend 1,000 for basic maintenance on a car I've owned for a week..... read more

The VW Touareg V10 has been on the lot for well over a year in GA.. There is a profound mismatch between the condition of the SUV & the price. The sales staff are quick to rebuke my feedback on the V10's history, condition & care of this unit, even though I do own two V10s since new. I bought an extremely rare 2006 Mercedes SL65 from Car Connection for $28,000. On my test drive with their salesperson the car seemed fine, and I was so determined to own the car that I neglected some important details relating to the purchase. I explain here. Car Connection's 3-day, 100-mile warranty. I found an issue with the car after getting it home and chose to avail myself of this policy. I learned that I would be charged a $495 restocking fee and a $20 wire transfer fee. Had I asked for details about the return policy beforehand as their website mentions doing, I suppose Car Connection would have noted these fees. Car Connection's 3-month, 3000-warranty. As mentioned I found an issue with the car. The engine misfires whenever you accelerate at full throttle and your speed is greater than c. 67 MPH. You'd figure a drivetrain warranty would cover something as basic as this, but it does not. It only covers engine internals -- pistons, connecting rods, bearings, etc. Their website did mention to get details of the warranty, but I did not. I decided to keep the car and to deal with the misfire issue. Reckoning an $800 ignition module was the problem, I requested $400 toward the purchase of a module. Car Connection gave me a check for $400. My 3-star rating for Car Connection is based upon the above as well as a variety of factors which I do not mention in the interest of brevity read more

First things first. An independent dealer friend of mine taught me: if you see a trade-in at a major dealer (Ford, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc) and they want to sell it themselves? THAT car is a creampuff. They only keep the ones that require no work, and can turn around with no issues. The ones that look worn, or have issues, they auction off to smaller independent dealers like his dealership. In the case of the independent dealers, sometimes you get some good ones at auction. Sometimes you don't. I was trying to buy a car remotely, which I have done, 4 times before. I am out of state and I hire a local inspector to look the car over and give me a report and send me pictures. I see a BMW M760i that had a great color combo and most of the features I wanted, at Car Connection, so I contacted them. I asked and it did come from an auction. See these pictures. These came from a remote mobile inspector I hired called Car Pro Inspections. I asked Car Connection's salesman Sal to take a few pictures for me and he basically would not. So I called Mike Tobia, the owner/manager. We did talk a lot about this BMW M760i, VIN WBA7H6C5XHG614331, and he accommodated me having an inspector come. After the inspector did come in the morning (during which, Mike decided he did not want my inspector to drive the car) Mike conversed with me once or twice very soon after, trying to push the results of the inspection along and wondering why it was taking so long. I have done this plenty of times before, sometimes an inspection report does not come for hours, or even a day. They have to do other inspections, and most reports are done at the end of the day. In any case, Mike kept pressing that the car was in fantastic shape and it was so rare, it could be gone at any moment, and why was it taking so long for the inspection report. He was building a case to try to make me believe my inspector was somehow incompetent. I figured that out later. Meanwhile, I was shopping for a possible new M760i at BMW of Mt. View, and do you know what they said when I told them I wanted to look for a used one instead. 1] thanks for coming in. 2] we will help you look. 3] here's the service manager contact you asked about. I also looked at one at a dealer in Bedford Ohio. They themselves took pictures of the car before it was detailed and there was some black smudges on the white leather and paint failure and an extremely hashed front rim. THEY sent me the pictures themselves. No one denied anything. When I mentioned I was not going to buy, I thanked them for their candor, wished them luck cleaning the car up, and they thanked me for my time. How was Car Connection in all this? Mike texted or emailed me asking why the inspection took so long, reminding me I would lose this car if I did not move on it, and then insulted me and my inspector after he saw the pictures plain as day. Not to mention, the car is priced about $5000-7000 too high. Long story short, I am glad I waited for the inspection report and especially the pictures. I purposefully asked Stephon from Car Pro Inspections to only take pictures of issues and wear and tear. There was plenty. I then broke the news to Mike that I was not buying the car based on the inspection, but mainly because of the pictures. Mike got a copy of the report before the pictures and emailed me back to say my inspector was a "rookie' and the report was false (his exact words). He had not seen the pictures because it took some time to get them posted. Once he did see the pics, he still denied the car had the issues that were plain as day in the pictures. I bought from a small dealer called CJ Auto Group in Alhambra, CA. Lowest key, laid back, took pictures for me. Allowed my inspector to do anything he wanted and when I showed up, threw me the keys and asked me to take my time. What did I get? newer car, with a perfect interior. lower miles and a few tiny rock chips on the front bumper that can be touched up. No scratches. Looks new, unless you get on your stomach and look up. One does not have to settle for a used car that looks somewhat worn inside and frankly, really rather worn outside, has bald rear tires (with what looks like a nail in one), low coolant (that takes 3 minutes to fix and never should have gone on the floor like that to begin with) and a transmission error code 021924 that even my BMW dealer told me they could not diagnose unless the car came in for a full inspection. Remember the responses of the other dealers. Mike, before you respond, try to be better, and fix those tires, coolant and transmission error! read more

This week I called Car Connection about a specific car they had on their website. I was very clear in my intent to buy that car. I was prepared to put 40% down on the car. I provided copies of my driver's license and paycheck stubs. Once I was told financing was approved, I bought a 6 month insurance policy for that car and sent a copy of the insurance card. I was VERY clear that I would be buying the car and the earliest I could pick it up was on Saturday morning. At no time did ANYONE tell me that I needed to provide an earnest money deposit or that they would .. and clearly did ... sell the car to someone else before I could go pick it up. This morning I got a call from the sales person I was working with. He told me that last night they sold the car I had committed to buy to someone else because their policy is "first cash in house". Clearly this company is not to be trusted. Now they have copies of my drivers license, my paycheck stubs with all my personal information on them, and I've paid $700 for an insurance policy for a car that I can't buy. read more

I bought two cars from them previously. I had no issues with those cars. The last car I purchased has been a troublemaker. The owner is still nice but I get no breaks with this car. I purchased my first lemon from Car Connection. I did not ever receive the car fax information for the car in spite of the fact that I asked more than once. Also, when I purchased the car I initially asked for another car because once upon a time this car searched for cars the customer wanted. This service was unavailable. I was told the car had bluetooth, it did not. There was an engine mount that had to be placed on the car. I found out after the first oil changed (which was after the 30 day dealership warranty) that the car has an oil leak. I asked to purchase a warranty and no one called me back. I have reached out numerous times to express my disappointment with this vehicle. I've had the car for a year and four months. Last week, this car had a part to come off (under the hood) while driving on the interstate. I've never had this happen to any car that I've purchased. This could have been fatal. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! I had been in the market for a diesel pickup truck for several months. Always on the lookout for a good deal and scanning the internet daily I finally came across what I thought to be a fair deal on an older truck. I came across the truck on the Car Connection website. I thought it to be a decent place to do business at since I have an incredibly good friend who works there. I called and gave them all the info on my trade and set up an appointment for 10 a.m. the next day on 01/26/22. I arrived early and I was told I would only be there to check out their truck and then run numbers and then buy the truck if I wanted it. I reminded them several times I had to be out of there by 1230 p.m. due to the drive back to my house and having to be at my job at 3 p.m. The plan changed when I arrived, and I was assigned a salesperson "Tyrome" to show me the truck. After over 30 minutes of him taking my information putting it into the computer and taking my keys for them to appraise my vehicle, I was finally shown the truck and took it on a test drive for about 15 minutes. We get back from the test drive and go back to the Tyrome's office. Now it is after 1100 and Tyrome leaves me in the office to go "check" on something. 15 minutes later he is not back. I then talk to my friend that works there. Finally, Tyrome gets me, and we start talking numbers. He said that I would get a discount because I knew someone who worked there. I advised that I was already pre-approved through Capital One. I advised that I wanted $38k for my trade in because that was what KBB said was fair for my truck and I had been offered that amount the day before at another dealership. They run my credit and the finance manager Randy said Captial One would not do the terms I requested but he had a bank that would. I said OK if I can get the term, I need to be able to afford the truck. Tyrome shows me the numbers and there were a few add-ons that I told him I did not want and was not paying for. I then noticed they offered me $37k for my truck and were still asking full price for their truck which was $52250. I explained the oversight and Tyrome said he would be back. He asked me where I wanted to be on my payments. When he came back, he never showed me any of the numbers on the vehicles just the payments. After him running back and forth to Randy and more time going by, we finally agreed on a payment. Now I am the only customer there working a deal and time is flying by and it is already 1 p.m. and I must leave to make it to work. They finally bring me into the finance office to sign papers. It was very rushed because they had drug their feet for a couple of hours and shame on me for not looking at the numbers and just signing papers because I was worried about being late for work and very frustrated for being there over three hours. I would almost bet this stall tactic was to get me to rush through signing and not pay attention to the bottom line. The next day I looked over my Credit Karma and it showed that Car Connection, Captial One and Truist had ran my credit. This angered me because I told Tyrome that I did not want my credit ran over and over. What I cannot figure out to this day is why Car Connection ran my credit because they are not lenders. Then I went over my paperwork and saw they stole my trade from me by giving me $35,700 and still charged me full price on their truck. Here is the part that let me know that they played me. I called Capital One and gave them my pre-approval code and asked them why they would not go the terms I requested, and I was told they would have gone those terms. So that only leads me to believe that Car Connection must have an agreement for Truist Bank to be their preferred lender and Truist must give them a bonus for sending business their way. I was able to look up the original owner of the truck I bought, and he said he was only given $45k for his trade and was surprised it sold for $52250 due to huge profit margin. I looked my truck up on their website and almost fell out of my chair when I saw it is for sale for $48k. I understand it is a business and that the average profit from a used vehicle sale is about $3k but their profit margins are unreal. These people are really robbing people of their trades and will do it with a smile and handshake. They really do have nice vehicles for sale, and I write all of this to just warn prospective customers to do your homework and do not get suckered like me. read more

DON'T buy from Car Connection. My 21 year old daughter used her cash that she saved for years to buy a 2014 Nissan Sentra. I referred her because I bought a car from them over 10 years ago and had a great experience, boy was I wrong!!! She bought a LEMON!!! Just bought it in May 2021 and nothing but problems and now the transmission is blown. I called there and of course it not covered under warranty. Spoke to Mike(service manager) he did finally offer a low mileage transmission, so I changed my review from 1 to 3 stars. When I first heard of this place I was looking to buy a Volkswagen Eos they had for sale. I looked on the website and sent in their inquiry and they responded very quickly. My sale person was Sal and he was great from the very beginning. We stayed in touch and I made an appointment to come in and see the car. I wasn't planning on buying a car that day I just wanted to look at it and then go home and think about it. I went on my lunch break from work to make sure of this fact.. Lol Well I arrived to Car Connection and I met with Sal. He walked me into their indoor sales room which was a nice size and I looked at the Volkswagen. It was nice and what I was looking for. They sold me a car with an extended warranty of 75k miles. The warranty only lasted 20 k and expired because they put the wing numbers in. Then the transmission went out a few months after I bought the car and then the fuel pump went out. After all of this they tried to sell me ANOTHER warranty for $1200. Don't but here. Perhaps he's always been in the wrong profession or it's just time to move on to retirement, but one Car Connection salesperson (Kevin) is clearly lacking in his approach to customer service. I test drove a car, and I was VERY clear upfront that it was likely not a fit for me, but I wanted to drive that particular model and get a feel for it so I could expand my search. After driving, I expressed concern about this particular car and the high mileage (which he was unaware of until I informed him of the exact number), but shared the parameters I was looking for in a vehicle. I gave him my correct email and phone and told him to stay in touch if he found something that was a fit. When he reached out a few days later to tell me he was not able to find what I wanted and was unable to reach me by phone, I had already chosen a car from another dealer. I thanked him for his efforts via email and he responded with a sarcastic note accusing me of giving him an incorrect phone number and how that was a dead "giveaway". (Which I did not do) In additional email exchanges, he also accused me of not being upfront about my intentions, not being clear about my impressions of the car - oh, and he threw in a dig about my driving too fast on the test drive. Had to get the last word in, I suppose! Am I incorrect in my opinion that a car salesperson's job is to help you in your search for the right vehicle? If he had found the car for me I would've absolutely purchased from him - but he wasn't able to find it. Instead of trying to maintain a relationship with me for future car purchases, he was rude and disrespectful. I purchased a used 2001 Chrysler Neon on Dec 29 2016, received temp tag, on Feb 03 2017 received home fax saying that they have been trying to reach me because "THEY" failed to have car inspected for emission to get tag. I called soon as got fax, they could not find me by name, cell#, home#,or by car. So took car in on Saturday Feb 4 still could not find my info. So when I asked about another Tempy tag, cause the one on it was about to expire, I was told by the lady she WOULD NOT under any reason (even it was their fault) issue another tempy tag. This was our first experience buying a car from a dealership, as we have normally purchased from individuals in the past. After vising a few of the "new car" high volume dealerships, we experienced all the negatives you always hear about the car buying process. Luckily, our experience with Car Connection was totally opposite. We had already experienced the nagging, baiting-and-switching deceptions of a few other dealerships, and were hesitant to continue going down that route. We happened to find EXACTLY the car we were looking for on the internet, at what seemed to be a completely fair price. Too good to be true, right? Nope! We called Car Connection to make sure they had the car, then headed over later that afternoon. We were set up with Dean, who was great through the entire process. We were shown the car, and then asked if we wanted to take a test drive. Dean actually offered to let us take the car out on our own, which was welcomed considering we usually experienced a constant sales pitch about all of the "great features" on all of our other test drives. We chose to have Dean accompany us, mainly because we didn't know the area. After inspecting and driving the car, we were ready to buy. I will say, I was fully prepared for the hard nosed negotiation, and came with my portfolio full of KBB values, Edmunds TMV prices, comparable cars in the area, etc. expecting to be completely low-balled for our trade in. To our surprise, we were offered a very fair price for not only the car, but our trade in. It was actually over $1,000 more than any other dealerships had offered us. After a little bit of discussion, we were able to get the total number down a few hundred dollars. What we expected to be a constant back-and-forth between the sales agent, him having to "check" with his boss, turned out to be very painless and easy. We were so pleasantly surprised to actually experience completely fair pricing and discussions. Dean was very accommodating and stayed far long after the dealership closed, as we experienced long hold times waiting for our Credit Union to finalize all of the numbers. We are now the owners of a great car and we will be sure to recommend Car Connection and Dean to any of our friends! read more
