The dealership option had more miles than I'd like so I went to CarMax first. My CarMax option was at the car lot in Duarte, but they shipped it to my nearby Irvine location at no fee so that I could look it over and test drive it. I met Byron at an appointed time, test drove it, asked a bunch of questions, and inspected it thoroughly. I liked it even better in person than what I saw online and made the purchase. Byron made the buying experience quick, easy, pressure-free, and made me feel comfortable - he's great at his job! I love my car.

I also reminded him that I had a buy one get one free oil change, and he said he would check on it. In the end, I waited nearly 5 hours and still had to message them myself just to get an update. My car only has around 33K miles, and I've stayed consistent with maintenance every six months, so I'm not sure what justified a service quote close to $1,000. When I finally reviewed the breakdown, a large part of it was for things like a throttle service and cabin filter replacement, which actually had coupons available that I wasn't allowed to apply. On top of that, they now charge a 2% fee for credit card payments and no longer include a car wash. Overall, the experience felt disappointing and not very transparent. Unfortunately, the long wait times and pushy upselling tactics made this a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning.
