Title: Deceptive Car Buying Company - A Nightmare Experience I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Carstub, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the initial quote to the final payout, the whole process was a bait-and-switch disaster. I reached out to Carstub seeking an estimate for my vehicle, initially enticed by their promises of fair and competitive offers, which appeared straightforward on their website. After providing all necessary information about my car, I received a quote that initially appeared reasonable. Things took a terrible turn when a Senior Mechanic arrived to assess my vehicle. They handed me a certified check and assured me that the deal was sealed. They even stated that my car would be transported to the purchasing dealer. However, upon delivery, the agreed-upon price was suddenly questioned. They began nitpicking minor issues as excuses to slash their offer, a clear attempt to pay me far less than our original agreement. The reduction amounted to a staggering $3,800 less than the initial offer. This sudden change in the terms left me in a precarious position, as I had already made plans based on their higher initial estimate. I felt coerced and pressured into accepting the lower offer, despite the fact that my car's condition was exactly as I had described when receiving the original quote. The vehicle was appraised by their mechanic in the same state it was delivered to the dealer, raising suspicions that damage may have occurred during transit. This underhanded and unethical maneuver left me with a sense of being exploited, and it reeked of classic bait-and-switch tactics that still haunt me. Adding insult to injury, the entire process was flawed by inefficiency and a glaring lack of professionalism. The manager, Veronica, showed no interest in addressing my concerns, failing to make any effort to reach out for a discussion. Carstub's opacity regarding their evaluation process only compounded my frustration. My earnest advice to anyone contemplating dealing with Carstub is to think long and hard. Their bait-and-switch pricing and overall unprofessional conduct left me deeply dissatisfied. I would not wish this company on my worst enemy. Carstub has left a lasting negative impression that will haunt me, and I deeply regret ever getting entangled with them. read more

My parents were looking to sell their Toyota Sequoia, and initially approached the local Toyota dealership. However, after seeing the offer they received, I decided to explore other options and came across CarStub. This decision turned out to be a game changer, thanks to their representative Josh H. I initially reached out to Josh at CarStub around 4PM, not expecting an immediate response. To my surprise, not only did he respond promptly, but he also went above and beyond by visiting my parents place the same day. This level of commitment and dedication impressed me. What set Josh apart was the better offer & service he provided to my parents for their car. His knowledge and expertise in the industry were evident throughout the process. It's not every day you come across someone who generally cares about getting you the best deal possible. I can't express my gratitude enough to Josh for helping out my parents in a time when they needed it the most. His professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine concern for his client satisfaction are commendable. I recommend Josh and Carstub to anyone looking to sell their car. If you want the best value and top-notch service, Josh is the person to trust. I'll definitely be returning to him for any future car selling needs, and I will be recommending him to friends and family without hesitation. Thank you Josh for making the car selling process a breeze and for exceeding our expectations! read more

I was in the process of trading in my car to CarMax for a specific amount, and paying for my new car with that money. I had already signed the paperwork, and just needed to bring them the payment. CarMax, because I had just renewed my registration and the DMV wasn't showing it in their system, wouldn't buy the car until the registration cleared with the DMV, even though I had the receipt and email confirmation from the DMV. This put me in a bind that I wasn't anticipating, especially because I had already signed the paperwork for the new car and they were holding it only for a few days. I remembered that I had inquired about Car Stub the prior week, but never called them, assuming they would come in low like most of the offers I received. I called them on a Sunday afternoon, and the girl who answered the phone was the best. She sent Josh out to see me that day. He was on time, explained the whole process, and although he still had two other people to meet with after me, stayed and answered all my questions. I never felt pressured or rushed. He was so professional and kind. He was able to get me $100 over the CarMax offer! When i accepted, we did the paperwork and he wrote me a check on the spot. I would absolutely use CarStub again, and hope that Josh is the one who helps me!! read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Michael Leyva at Carstub, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Michael was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. First, Michael made the appraisal process straightforward and stress-free. I appreciated his honesty and transparency, which made me feel confident in the final assessment. What stood out most was Michael's exceptional customer service. They were punctual, courteous, and went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. His friendly demeanor made the entire process enjoyable, and I felt valued as a customer. My 2018 Kia Sportage Ex went into an accident last year, the front was crashed andbthe airbag was deployed. After I fixed the whole thing, it keeps having minor problems, and last week the engine was overheated and need a replacement. I don't want to deal with it anymore, so I decided to sell it. I was looking for which company has the best price for it, since it's a car with a big accident and the engine is almost scrapped, I know it is not going to worth much. I called few companies and the best they can give me is $3000, and they're going to charge me for towing if I sell it to them. So I found carstub, they gave me an price range and came to look the car for free. Josh Hidalgo came helped me, and tried to get the best price for me very patiently. It ended up with I got $3250 for my car. Since I didn't have the title paper and the other key for my car today, Josh is very nice and going to come tomorrow to pick these up. He gave me a check immediately and said he would take care of everything else, so that I don't need to do any paper work for DMV. He also gave me an gift card which made me very surprised and that's so lovely. I would totally recommend carstub and thank you so much again to Mr. Josh Hidalgo!!!!! read more

I contacted Carstub yesterday to sell our 2017 Ford-F350 truck and to our surprise they were out within 3 hours for the appraisal. Our Carstub phone advisor was very helpful and informative explaining the entire process and what we can expect. He advised us that our appraiser is Stacy and to expect a text us to confirm our appointment time. Stacy was very prompt and texted us again as she was close. We found Stacy to be extremely professional and personable. She explained the appraisal process and proceeded to give our truck a thorough inspection as well as kept us updated the entire process. As well as answering any questions we had. After she finished up her inspection she said she would go back to her car and complete the process and get right back to us with an offer. She was back quickly and the offer was higher than the advisors estimate. She wrote gave us our check in the spot and secured the truck for pickup by the flatbed. This was a most enjoyable and stress free process for selling our truck. No hassle of fielding lookie loo buyers or worry over our safety. I 1000% recommend this Carstub and will be recommending them at any opportunity. Thank you to Carstub and their top notch appraiser Stacy. read more

I totally agree with JC. What he doesn't know is that this company hides under the name of cash4usedcars.com and cashforcars.com. I got fooled by the same sweet talker at that place. Wasted my valuable time driving there and got the BS like you won't believe. If I had the time, I would report them all over the net and news. Don't make a mistake. These guys claim that they have offices in Los Angeles and all over the Southern California, and the funny thing is that when I asked where I could bring my car in L.A., they got nervous and said oh the manager is off and we'll send an appraiser to your house. No way in h............... I want any one showing up to my door. I found a company that is in L.A. and was very accommodating and really straight forward. I asked their manager if I can name them in my comment here and they said that it will not be appropriate when I am giving a negative review to another company, because others might think that they encouraged me to do this. Therefore I accepted but give you a hint. Shop carefully, look at reviews and check before selling your car to just any company. read more

In this day and age, it's difficult to distinguish what is genuine and what is generic. With all the technologies and programs at the tips of our fingers, online/cyber crooks are the norm. After reading so many reviews about dishonest businesses that makes offers and purchasing your vehicles-I was skeptical and nervous to say the least. Think about it...you're given an offer that just dwarfs every other site/company you tried before. Being blinded by the excitement of the inflated offer, you sign over the title in exchange for the check...the check bounces all the way to and back from the bank. You surrendered your title already and you vehicle is gone-what do you do...I had that exact mindset going into my transaction. Stacy Ortiz, without being offended by my constant doubt, as I was not shy of voicing it-was very professional and gave me peace of mind (repeatedly and patiently). So, if there is anyone out there that is reluctant about the legitimacy of CARSTUB, DON'T BE! They're the real deal. So thank you Stacy and Genesis! You ladies are the genuine article! read more

CarStub was easy to work with - I had submitted some information on their website and within a day someone reached out to me asking to set up an appraisal appointment. It had been a busy week for me so I had sort of blown off their messages but when I decided to reach out for a spur of the moment appointment later that week, they were able to send out an appraiser (shout out to Robert Grande - he's friendly and professional!) that same afternoon. I didn't think I would sell my car that same day and wanted to see what their offer was first but they were easy to work with and we were able to negotiate what I thought was a good offer for my 15 year old car. I didn't have my title on me as it was at my parents' house but Robert and his boss were flexible - once I confirmed that the title was indeed at my parents' house, Robert followed me down to my parents' to pick up the title, do paperwork, and write me a check. The entire process was quick and easy and I would definitely go through CarStub again for my future car-selling needs. Thanks Robert! read more

I was so impressed with everyone I worked with at CarStub from Anna who worked in the office to the 2 appraisers that worked with me while selling my car Sergio and Chris Aguilar. There was a problem with my title as I bought the car in Az and a few years later moved to So Cal. Well to make a long story short Az put out 2 different Title numbers on my car which caused a problem that had to be fixed through the DMV. We all know how it is when it comes to working with the DMV and how difficult it is to get anything accomplished but Anna, Sergio and Chris were right there to see me through to the end and get everything I needed they took me step by step and I got it done!!! They are so kind and helpful and I wouldn't have wanted to sell my car any other way!! Thank you so very much CarStub and Anna, Sergio and Chris you are the BEST!!! I certainly will be encouraging my family and friends to use you when they need to buy or sell a car!!! Again I thank you with all my heart! such a great company with AMAZING people working for them!!! read more

I had a car that I needed to sell right away to cut my losses. I knew I'd be upside down and Carstub's appraisal was a few thousand more than CarMax, Carvana, Vroom and the dealer. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about having the write out a hefty check to Carstub and trust that they would pay off the balance. It's been exactly 10 days and I received confirmation from my finance company that the loan was paid off and the account was closed. This is the first time I've had to sell a car on my own. From the time I called Carstub, I received nothing but excellent service. Sergio Reyes was my senior appraiser and he was very responsive. The transaction was quick and smooth. He even came back to unlock the car before it was picked up when I realized I had left something important in it. Thank you Sergio for making this as painless as possible! If any of my friends or family need to sell a car and get the best price without the hassle of selling to a private party, I will recommend Carstub. read more

On 6/3/2015 my appointment was 6:30PM, by the time I arrived home from work, Minh and Edward already there waiting for me. That was the good start from my perspective to them. The process of inspecting my car was a little too long, took almost 1 hour. The negotiation was really smooth, and the deal was made reasonable. We came across a little issue with paper work that they need to go back to the office, Edward and Minh promised to come back within one hour since they have to go back and pick up a new form. Exactly one hour Edward show up and finished off the deal @ 9:45PM. This is the kind of people in business that I like, and want to refer to every ones, keep your promise is the key. Minh and Edward was able to answered all my questions. I took a chance and trusted both of them of this deal, and they have proven to earn my trust. I gave them both 5 stars as well for the company they work for. I don't write review on anything, but I do for this company. Keep up the good work "cash4usedcars". read more

When CASH4UsedCars initially called, I spoke with an extremely friendly and informative woman named Alyssa. Though she assured good payout for my vehicle, I was still skeptical, being I had seen three similar companies this week. Some major corporations and some family owned, but none the less, nobody caught my attention as far as offers. She sent the appraiser out within 1 1/2. (Nice!) The appraiser showed up promptly and even called to confirm his eta. When Chris arrived, he gave a thorough inspection, and I mean thorough. I was starting to give up hope when he was sure my car had some paint work done, in which I had no knowledge of, being I am the 3rd owner, it's not in the records and undetectable to the human eye. He gave an on the spot appraisal that matched the last company. We could have just gone with the last company if that was the case. We wouldn't budge from our negotiating price and I was shocked when he paid us on the spot. No hassle. Highly recommended. Thanks, Chris! read more

Ulysses Luna came by on Tuesday 10-4 around 4:30 and gave a very thorough inspection of my 2006 Prius. As I originally wanted a few hundred more he showed me legitimate reasons as to why I was and will continue to try and sell this particular vehicle. I was truthfully suckered in February this year into buying it. It ran great for the first 3 months I had it and problems began to show I am glad that it is now out of my mind as the following day I followed up with Ulysses confirming the quoted buy still being good. He came over in less than 30 minutes, did all the paperwork and had a brief chat while making me feel much better about my original money loss. He gave me great recommendations for my next vehicle purchase and left me in great vibes. If I ever need to sell another vehicle in the future I will contact him and if you're reading this I recommend you ask for Ulysses Luna specifically if in the Anaheim surrounding areas Thanks again! I had a great experience with Cash 4 Used Cars! I did a lot of research on-line before calling them. I got Natalie on the phone who was very helpful and I set up an appointment for the next day. The guy came out (Bob) on time and took time to appraise the car and test drive it. He asked me what I thought it was worth and he offered an amount slightly lower and we bargained and then agreed on what I thought was a fair price (I had done extensive research on what my car, a 2002 Ford Thunderbird convertible, red with white removable hardtop and very low mileage) would be worth. After we agreed on price, Bob did all the paperwork and wrote a check right then. He came back later with a flatbed truck to take the car away. Could not have been easier and I would recommend to anyone who wants to sell a car. You could probably get a little more money by selling independently but it would take a lot of effort and hassle and Cash 4 Used Cars eliminated all of that. Well worth it! read more

So today I sold my car to carstub, Justin Lopez (Senior Appraiser) came out to inspect the car and we both had a good conversation about my car. He was very pleasant to talk to and very well mannered. I showed him all of the offers I had after he told me what offer he was given. They were all pretty competitive with the offers I was getting. Justin got the sale from me because how professional he was and the time he took explaining how it worked, and he was just a good dude. We came to a fair price, and I believe it was a good deal. Justin made it quick and easy with the paperwork and check in hand. I definitely would use them again for any other car sale I might have in the future. I called them, they came when they said they would same day service! Justin Lopez got the best price for me :) It took in all about one hour to get the deal complete. I am truly going to miss that car and I hope I don't see it around town. Thanks again carstub Justin is good at his Job! read more
