This was our first time at Captain Steve's and we enjoyed it! They'll bring you and unlimited supply of hushpuppies lol. Everyone's seafood dinners were great. I'm not a big seafood lover so I had the barbeque plate. It was delicious and big enough that I got 3 meals out of it! We will definitely visit when we are back this way.

Captain Steve's is a win. Service is top notch. Seated promptly and order taken quickly. Hush puppies arrived and were hot and delicious. We ordered the cheese sticks as an appetizer and they were good but not great. I ordered the pick two and split it between one broiled item (Alaskan Whitefish) and one fried item (Jumbo Shrimp). Side item was the baked potato and when you get the two items, you get another side which we turned into a salad. The fish and shrimp were delicious. The potato was super hot and good as well. The salad as the second side item was a big win because with all the food you get in an order, take the salad home and eat it the next day. I will continue to eat here because well it's awesome.

Captain Steve's is one of Fort Mills staples. I come here often and usually get the shrimp or flounder dinner but this time I switched it up a bit and got the perch dinner. It came with hushpuppies and for my side I got the baked potato. I added a side of collard greens. The fish was good but needed more seasoning. The baked potato was basic but collard greens were surprisingly really good.

We really enjoyed our dinners here. The atmosphere was comfortable, the waitress friendly and attentive and our meal delicious. We ordered a grilled salmon dinner, two grilled whitefish dinners and a blackened tuna dinner. All the fish cooked properly as ordered. The hush puppies were yummy. Portions sizes very substantial and prices very reasonable. Everthing was tasty, plated nicely and came out hot. We would certainly return again.

They do still sell snow crab legs however they no longer offer all u can eat. Pricing is market

Ok..so is Captain Steve's and Captain Ds two different things? I think people get them confused. I did as well. I'm trying to figure out because Captain Ds in Charlotte has bad reviews.

Captain Steve's is in Fort Mill SC and I believe there is also a second location on Monroe Rd in Charlotte. It is a seafood restaurant with fabulous food.

Inconsistency was the theme of our recent dinner at BearWalrus. Disappointing, and yet hopeful,…read morebecause with some attention to detail this could become a great addition to the Rock Hill restaurant scene, As we sat our server did an excellent job explaining the menu. However, she then disappeared. Well, not disappeared, we could clearly see her at a table talking, and talking, with another couple. 15 minutes later we still hungrily (and thirstily) sat waiting to place our order. The service unfortunately remained unsteady throughout the evening. My wife and I love properly barbecued brisket. (Key mention, I lived in Texas many years and my wife grew up in Houston. We've taken vacations visiting Texan barbecue joints. Admittedly, we're "brisket snobs". ). Brisket is a tough cut of meat and aside from lots of loving time and attention it requires fat. Fat provides tenderness, moistness and most importantly flavor. When asked, ALWAYS order fatty brisket, not lean. Of the three slices of brisket we received, one was delicious, it all but fell apart with a fork. Another was partly good but the third slice was clearly overly lean; it was dry, tough and, in our view, not worth eating. So again, inconsistencies. We had a dozen oysters, four each of Good (from Virginia), Awesome (PEI) and Baller (Washington). The descriptions should've been switched. The large Chesapeake oysters were the best. They had a buttery finish - I enjoyed them. Meanwhile the Pacific oysters were very briny and one tasted of fish; after that I didn't touch the remainder . (I'm fine, by the way, no after-meal ill effects). I now suspect the price points for the oysters have less to do with quality and more with shipping costs. My advice, support our local, and delicious, fisheries. We ordered hushpuppies for starters and they arrived a dark, dark brown in color. The table next to us received the same so we first told ourselves that was perhaps how they were served here. However, we then saw other table servings and realized ours were burnt. The manager comped us for these (we had only eaten one). Of the four sides we had, the Cole slaw and onion rings were good but the Cowboy beans overly sweet and the Mac N Cheese was bland and lacked seasoning. BearWalrus is new, clearly still working out a few kinks. There were enough positives in our meal that I'm optimistic that this unevenness in quality will be ironed out in due course.

For instance, snapper, grouper, mahi-mahi , tile and trigger fish. Often times they will have a wide selection of frozen fish in stock. Their prices will be a bit higher than what you might pay at your local Harris-Teeter or Publix but the quality far exceeds. Their big differentiator is their customer service. They are a small independently owned business so their customer service is exceptional. Today I stopped in and ordered some fresh Snapper and got 2 pounds of frozen gulf shrimp and their seasoning. The menu is fairly deep and wide. Obviously, with the name of the restaurant, they offer a good variety of seafood options. Their specials for the evening both were seafood. Like the last time here they recommended the Chilean Seabass. What a shock, it's the most expensive item on the menu. Three people got it, they all said it was OK to good. I ordered the blackened mahi-mahi. By the description, it sounded good, I've had it other places, I've enjoyed it. Well, there's always a first time that it wasn't very good. That bs this time. To start, the portion size is decent. I understand we were a fairly large group, but they need to figure out a way to bring the food out at least warm. The most disappointing part of the fish was how dry it was. The second most disappointing part about the fish was how it lacked blackened seasoning. One other person also got the same menu item and had the exact same comments. I did start out with a side salad and it was acceptable. The lettuce was not too flimsy. It included goat cheese and candied pecans. Their house dressing, which was a vinaigrette, tasted bitter. We ordered five different appetizers. No super compliments on the any of them. I didn't try them all. I did try the crab cakes, they seemed to be missing crab. I paid the bill. When the server asked me, how was everything? I replied "not very good". She didn't care to ask what the issue was.

I had been hearing good things about Firebirds in Fort Mill and as this was my special birthday meal I felt this might be the place to go. We arrived a little after 4 on a Wednesday evening. You can see from my pictures that the decor was very warm and cozy. There were tables, booths and combo bench/tables. Also there was a large bar you could sit at and enjoy the atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly and was very attentive to our table. She answered our questions we had like about the Ranch Rings. Turns out it's just a side of ranch you can did the rings in. She also offered us some bread for the table which we never turn down. It was warm and the whipped butter was soft and easy to spread! The Rings were amazing! Very crispy and fully cooked. You didn't get that onion pulling out of the coating that I hate. And there was so many of them that three of us split this very easily! For my dinner I was going all in with the Surf N Turf. A 9oz bacon wrapped filet with a half pound lobster tail! I also got the seasoned steak fries for my side. Again the waitress was great asking what extras I needed with my meal, i.e. ketchup, melted butter, steak sauce etc. For the most part my meal was excellent. The fries were crisp on the outside but had a good fluffy potato on the inside. The lobster was presented outside the tail and was easy to remove and then slice up to be dipped in the butter. The bacon around the filet was fully cooked and not rubbery at all! But it looked like they had cut into the filet to check the temp. I did as for it to me Medium and it was probably a touch over but there was some pink inside so it was ok. Overall it was good but I didn't have that eyes rolling back in your head OMG YUM moment. My parents both decided to try their three course meal. You get a starter, an entree and a dessert for a reasonable price. Both my parents chose the mixed greens salad for their starter. They both enjoyed it and was surprised by the size of it expecting to get smaller portions with this three course meal deal. Again they were surprised when their entrée's arrived. A full rack of ribs and a large grilled sirloin steak was presented to them. Dad very much enjoyed his parmesan mashed potatoes before attacking the ribs. Mom asked for her steak to be medium well but it looked well done instead but it was fine for her. Unfortunately her mashed potatoes arrived cold. Our waitress was on it and brought a side of piping hot mashed potatoes for her very quickly. For dessert mom got the bread pudding which came with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and side of caramel sauce. Dad got the creme Brulee petite cheesecakes. I swiped the ice cream from mom as she didn't want it and poured some of what tasted like house made caramel sauce over it. It was delicious! By the time we were leaving over 90 minutes later the restaurant was getting quite full. The food and service was all very good. It's not the type of place I'm gonna come to every week but for those special nights out when you want a cozy place to relax and have a good meal, this is the spot!
