I've been wanting to visit here for a loooong time, and randomly decided to try this place out. So…read morehere's the thing, the shrimp was very tough maybe over cooked? Both the fried shrimp and the shrimp in the salad were overly cooked. Sorry to say but the seafood salad which is usually my favorite thing to order at seafood restaurants was NOT good, don't waste your money or time. The crab legs were very sizable and full of flavor, I mean it's what you would expect nothing too out of ordinary. I would definitely come back for the crab legs and I saw the blue crabs were $18 for half dozen, which is the most affordable I've found in the city! But the cooked food, I don't think I'll try the shrimp again, I am eager to try the fried fish, hopefully that won't be disappointing. Three stars for me!

DO NOT COME HERE. I…read morepurchased a 1/2 bushel of crabs from this establishment, and unfortunately, many of the crabs were mostly legs and mushy. I contacted Tim regarding the issue, and he told me that I could come back to the store and they would credit me a few dozen crabs. While I knew that a few dozen would not fully compensate me for the quality of the 1/2 bushel I purchased, I was willing to accept it as a resolution. I called Tim less than an hour before coming to the store, and he specifically told me that I was good to go. When I arrived, however, the woman working there told me there was nothing she could do and that she would not take care of the situation. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this establishment, so to be treated this way as a returning customer is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. What made the situation even worse was that Tim then claimed he thought I was the person he had spoken to a few weeks ago--despite the fact that we had spoken less than an hour earlier about this exact issue. This was not only a disappointing product experience, but also a terrible customer service experience. If a manager makes a commitment to a customer, the store should honor it. I should not have to come into the store and argue with an employee over a resolution that was already discussed and approved. Horrible service, poor communication, and unacceptable attitudes. I will not be returning.

As soon as we walked in we thought it was going to be a great experience. We were greeted by the friendly hostess. Then our waiter came over and took our orders. There were 6 of us. 2 of our friends were already seated 15 min prior to our arrival and ordered their food and drinks. However, by the time we ordered our items they still were waiting on theirs. We ordered drinks and simple meals such as chicken tenders and fries. We waited 45 min for our drinks and an hour for our food. Then when we received the food it came out in carry out containers and was cold. We told the manager and she finally brought out our hot food. The chicken tenders were well seasoned but because of the wait we did not enjoy our food. The drinks were weak and we tasted absolutely no alcohol. We asked for the manager and waited for her for 20 min. She never came to the table and the waiter ended up removing the food from our bill and just charged us for the drinks. The ambiance was decent. It was a large space but relatively empty. They had loud music coming from the roof top. We saw a huge roach coming out of the door of the restaurant as well. Unfortunately, I won't return. I hope that they will improve on their service substantially.

We were warmly greeted by a lovely hostess who ended up being our server, Jamila, I hope I spelled her name correctly. She was truly one of the best servers we have had in a long time: attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great suggestions. She checked on us often without being intrusive, and her customer service was exceptional. When I mentioned that I did not care for the mac and cheese, Jamila immediately offered recommendations for another side. To our surprise, the chef even came out personally to apologize and brought me a fresh serving of mac and cheese. The replacement was much better! That is what I call going above and beyond to make customers happy. The food was delicious. I ordered the catfish dinner with collard greens and candied yams. The catfish was moist, fried to perfection, and seasoned just right. The collard greens were flavorful and well seasoned, while the candied yams reminded me of my grandmother's homemade yams sweet, comforting, and absolutely delicious. The portions are huge, so you definitely will not leave hungry. Between the wonderful hospitality, outstanding service from Jamila, and amazing food, Croaker's Spot gave us a memorable dining experience. We will definitely be back!

The parking lot is small, and there is a pothole in the alley near the parking lot entrance that will bottom out an SUV. Apparently, there is additional parking, but we didn't see it in the dark. The restaurant is cozy, Hawaiian-themed, and clean. We were seated within moments of entering the host's periphery, and received menus and ice water within minutes. I had the poke bowl last time, and I remember it being chilled and gently flavored. The avocado and spicy mayo did a lot of the heavy lifting. It was filling and very healthy. My partner enjoyed the Ipanema Sandwich last time we visited. This time around we snacked on the fried halloumi (fried cheese and mint yogurt dip) and Lumpia, taquito-type beef rolls, with sweet and sour dip. We absolutely demolished the coconut cream pie for dessert. The pie was so delicate and lovely that even my partner enjoyed it, a typical coconut detractor. I recommend Little Nickel to anyone looking to try something unique and ambitious that veers from the well-trodden culinary path. The staff here were courteous and helpful, the restaurant was clean, and the food was firing on all cylinders.
